Chapter 1046: Last Competition
In a country far south, Stefany stood in front of the other successor of the Dark Moon Mercenary.
"It looks like you’ve been doing well, Jean." Stefany squinted her eyes.
"You too, Stefany. After combining two factions, you have grown confident. Hopefully, that confidence won’t come back to bite you." Jean harrumphed. He was also confident, believing that he would be winning this match.
Stefany had foolishly accepted the decision to fight in a neutral country. This meant Stefany wouldn’t be able to use her connections here. Clovis couldn’t sneakily place a hidden fighter from the Hacfield family.
Still, Clovis was standing behind Stefany, alongside the master of the Three Swords as well as the captain and vice captain of the R.A.I.D.
Meanwhile, five old men were standing behind Jean, each of them possessing a strength equal to that of a Tier 8 human.
Finally, the Dark Supreme appeared between them.
"Hello." The Dark Supreme nodded gracefully. "This will be the last fight to determine the successor of the Dark Moon Mercenary. Obviously, I have to referee this match personally.
"Any attempt to hijack it is equal to disqualification. Don’t forget that while each successor has influence over their own factions, the supreme authority is still in my hands.
"In other words, anyone who would try to hijack this scenario will meet my wrath. All the experts within the Dark Moon Mercenary are ready to hunt you down to the ends of the world."
The Dark Supreme threatened them to be careful because he was still the leader of the second-strongest mercenary group in the world.
The Dark Supreme looked at both successors before continuing, "Very good. I have sent you the rules for this match, but let me make it clear one more time.
"There are only three rules. It’s simple. The first one is not to harm the people in this city. Anyone who is found to harm the people in this city will be disqualified. Your participation in this match will be halted immediately.
"Both parties can only have 20 people to help them. If you can’t abide by this second rule, your participation will be annulled and you’ll be disqualified from the entire succession race.
"Last but not least, there’s no limit to what you can do here as long as you don’t harm this country. You are allowed to eliminate your opponent as long as that fight doesn’t harm the people. If you end up harming them, the one initiating the attack will be disqualified. Do you both understand?"
Stefany and Jean nodded at the same time. It was pretty simple.
Clovis raised his hand. "Will you count my beasts? They’re not people. They’re the product of my power."
"No." The Dark Supreme shook his head. "I won’t count your beasts. Banning your beasts is the same as banning everyone from their unique abilities."
It would give an advantage to Clovis, but not by much. Nevertheless, Clovis managed to get the beasts with him. This meant the Libation Fiesta only sent eleven people in total. The Three Swords brought out their three masters.
The remaining six people consisted of the leader and the vice leader of the R.A.I.D., who brought their three Tier 7 humans. In total, Stefany only had 19 people supporting her. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
This meant their side only had eight Tier 8 humans, including Angelia, Christina, and Aileen.
However, the rest of the Libation Fiesta could still fight at least five Tier 8 humans or even more. So, they might lose in firepower.
Meanwhile, the source of Jean’s confidence was the number of Tier 8 humans. According to their information, they learned that Jean brought fourteen Tier 8 humans. He filled the rest with Tier 7 humans, but like Stefany’s side, he only brought five Tier 7 humans, which resulted in a total of 19 people.
This was more than enough to tell Clovis that Jean had a trump card. It looked like his grandfather was right about a Tier 9 human.
Nevertheless, they had made their preparations, so Clovis had to take down the enemies with everything he had.
The Dark Supreme raised one finger. "The objective is very simple. There is a white lily planted in Daguan Forest, which is not far from this place. You just have to hold the lily for five minutes, and you will win.
"It’s that simple. Still, the match will begin in three days. You can’t scout the forest to find the lily beforehand. And on the third day, all of you can only leave the city after 6 a.m. You can choose which gate you want, but there’s no fighting until you reach the forest.
"Once you enter the forest, you may do anything you want. That’s all. Do you understand?"
Both Jean and Stefany nodded. It was a simple rule. They just couldn’t scout, but there were some loopholes in what the Dark Supreme said. Both sides seemed to be preparing to take advantage of those loopholes.
"If you both understand, then do your best. I will see who succeeds me in a few days. Don’t forget that I will monitor your every move." The Dark Supreme nodded. "Okay. One handshake if you are ready for this match."
"Good luck. May the better one win." Stefany smiled while extending her hand.
"Of course. Only the better one will win." Jean harrumphed and shook her hand firmly.
The Dark Supreme then disappeared after confirming the agreement.
They also walked away to their respective accommodations, executing their own plans.
In the meantime, Michael clicked his tongue and said, "To think you would appear before me again... but well, this is good. I might as well destroy your tattered body right now."
The Prophet drew his sword. "Try it if you can. However, your grandson will die first before you can do anything to me."
"You again?" Ezekiel looked at the sixth strongest person in the world, the man known as Moon Bow.
"You shouldn’t have allied yourself with the Hacfield family."
"I can ally with whomever I want. I bow to no one." Ezekiel snorted.
Of course, Jean also received this information on his phone. He smiled. "Now, with both Tier 9 humans on their side locked in battle, there’s no way to stop us now."
