Chapter 329: Dungeon Barrier

Landing on the ground, Dhruv glanced at the thunder. It had been quite some time since the fight had started, and his purpose of increasing the skills seemed fulfilled as well.

So all in all, Dhruv sees this fight as a successful endeavor and now it is time to end it.

Enveloping himself in a layer of invisibility, Dhruv pulled a blueprint of a metal construct and began filling it with mana. After creating the construct of his desire, he began infusing it with fire as well.

After continuing this for another ten seconds, Dhruv seemed satisfied with the result. Aiming his hand at the thunder hovering in the sky, he summoned the spell.

In an instant, the monster was surrounded by an enhanced flamed metal box with no way out. Without wasting time he a metal pole and connected it to the ground.

Sensing itself surrounded by the cage the monster fired spell after spell, but all its thunder was conducted to the ground. Its spells had no effect on the box.

’I think it is a bit dumb in physics as well...’ Dhruv thought, pressing his palms together.

Heeding his command, the mana began to change as the box began to shrink. The monster fired one spell after another, but all of them were absorbed by the ground.

Whatever heat it produced had no effect as the metal was already infused with flame as well.

Seconds passed as the metal shrank further and further... the monster cried out in thunder, but there was no way out. Soon enough, the cage got small enough that shrinking it further became somewhat hard.

’It using air to create opposition... it’s not that dumb I guess...’

Applauding its quick thinking, Dhruv began infusing the construct with more and more mana. Now that he added his telekinesis into the mix, there was no coming back for the monster.

The pure heat from the flame began to burn the thunder’s mana as the box forced it to shrink further and further. Before the end of a minute, the box got small enough to only fit the core of the monster.

Dhruv was about to force the box to shrink further in hopes of destroying the core when the cosmos whispered in his ears.

[You have killed a Tier V monster: Greater Gale Thunderwrath]

’It died without crushing the core... hmmm! So despite being made out of mana, there was a limit to how far it could shrink.’ Happy with the kill, Dhruv checked his notifications.

’After killing a mid-way Tier V, I only get two levels out of it... now come on, cosmos, what’s up with this?’ Dhruv couldn’t help but complain about the injustice.

If everything were normal, he should’ve gotten at least five levels out of it... but he didn’t even get half of that. Knowing that his species is somewhat of an exception, he couldn’t do anything but move forward.

Boooommmmm!!

Dhruv made the box as an explosion happened, shaking the ground to its core. Seeing the mana particles getting destroyed like that, he couldn’t help but feel a bit depressed.

All the precious tier V essence was gone as well.

’So, I only got two levels and a core from this fight... talk about a letdown.’ Thinking this, he caught the core and looked at it. A notification appeared in front of him, displaying some of the core’s information.

[Name: Greater Gale Thunderwrath’s Core]

[Rank: Epic]

[Tier: V]

[Description: The Greater....]

[Enchantment: Status, Mana Source]

’So the monster was epic rank only. Well, good enough. It is better than rare at least.’ Sighing, Dhruv threw the core into his inventory and established a connection with the duo.

[Where are you guys?] he asked.

[Master, we were going toward the portal... but seeing that you were taking your time, we began hunting all the Tier III and Tier IV monsters,] Azarex replied through the connection.

[Ohhh! Good, send me the location. I will come to hunt them as well,] Dhruv asked for the way.

Instead of Azarex, Aurora answered this time, [Master, if you want to hunt, go behind the portal. There should be a few Tier IV monsters there.]

’Behind the portal... hmmm! That might be a good idea,’ Dhruv thought, remembering how he had found a Tier IV monster just after entering the portal. He began moving toward the portal, following his map. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

With the help of the map, it took him about five minutes to reach the portal. Activating his vision, he began moving further. Soon enough, he began to sense the mana signatures of monsters all around him.

Most of them were Tier II, but he began to find Tier III as well. Ignoring Tier I and II, Dhruv began killing every other monster.

[You have killed a tier III monster: Lesser Blizzarok]

[You have killed a tier III monster: Mega Glacior

[You have killed a tier IV monster: Lesser Snowterror]

[....]

[....]

Dhruv continued to kill the monsters once after another when his gaze landed upon something familiar.

’We meet again...’ he muttered, looking at a monster of the same species he had found upon entering the dungeon.

Instead of using magic, Dhruv infused his fists with metal and began running toward the monster at full speed.

Noticing his presence, the monster lifted its paws and swept toward its prey. Dodging the attack, Dhruv jumped into the air and punched the monster directly on its head.

Craccckkk!

With just a single punch, half of the monster’s head caved in on itself as brain matter began leaking out. Lifting his fist, Dhruv punched once again, killing the beast with just two punches.

[You have killed a Tier IV monster: Greater Glacial Mauler]

[You... ]

[...]

[You have leveled up.]

Dhruv wandered around the area, killing monsters for another half an hour until he eventually reached the border of the dungeon. Due to his illusion resistance, he could see a magnificent barrier surrounding everything.

’The barrier is as impressive as it was...’ Having this thought he moved closer to it.

The moment Dhruv reached a meter around the barrier his eyes flickered with information as he saw something changing right in front of his eyes.
