Chapter 342: Hit With The Reality
Even after much thought Archana only comes to the point of making an educated guess, "I don’t remember, Master, why I chose to do things like this... but I think I can make a guess."
"What is it?" Dhruv asked back.
"The reason I must have not picked the egg-laying organs is because they are very expensive, Master. If not counting the one you get for free, almost all of them cost the entire evolutionary energy... and because I already have the exclusive ability, I didn’t feel the need to buy one anyway."
"Hmmm! Quite a good decision, I would say, and you used that energy to improve your physical state."
"Thank you, Master, and yes, that’s exactly what I did."
"So... now that it has come to this, how are you planning to make your spider family? I mean, I don’t want to force you to do anything you don’t like."
Dhruv commented, having an idea as to what she should do if she didn’t have any other option.
"Master... as a colony-type monster, the vaster my army is, the stronger I will be... and that’s why I plan to build my colony. I think I will find some eggs in the dungeon and start from there..."
She was about to finish when Vexar coughed, "Ahhh! Sorry for saying this, Archana, but I don’t think there are any other spider monsters left in the dungeon... not certainly after the demolition Grec had done."
"U-uhmm! That could be a problem... but don’t worry, the dungeon could always spawn one," Archana mentioned, not worried about not having spiders like that.
"I think you don’t have to worry about that... remember there are some spider eggs we have kept on the island," Dhruv said as he remembered their first expedition to the spider dungeon.
"Ohhh! Yes, how could I forget about them..." Vexar sighed.
"Alaric, those eggs are alright?"
"Yes and no, Master. Due to the wrong conditions, most of the eggs were destroyed, but there are still twenty or so left. Will that be enough?" Alaric asked, looking at his master.
Hearing this, Dhruv turned toward Archana as he lifted his eyebrow, asking whether it would be enough or not.
"Yesss, Master, that will be enough... anyway, the first generation is always the most important, so the smaller number will be better so I can focus on them individually," Archana agreed, nodding her head.
"Well, this sorts everything then... shall we go out then..." Dhruv asked as everyone nodded.
Because the dungeon would be destroyed after Archana got out of it, Grec decided to use every inch of space in his inventory and began to fill it with the rocks.
When his own was filled to the brim, he even began filling them in Dhruv’s inventory. All in all, it took them an hour to clear most of the dungeon. Leaving behind the destruction they caused, the group moved out of the dungeon.
While Dhruv was moving toward his house, he felt a connection entering his mind... knowing there wasn’t any danger around him he allowed it.
[Master, I want to talk about something.] Aurora’s words echoed in his mind.
[What is it?]
[I don’t think you should use your True Fusion anymore... I mean, you should not use it to create any more guardians.]
[Why do you say so...] Despite having an idea why she would say so, Dhruv asked nonetheless.
[Master, if I’m correct, you use ten percent of your soul to create every one of us, right?]
[Yes.]
[Thought so... you use ten percent every time, which means... you currently have only forty percent of your original soul left.]
[Hmmm!]
[If you were to continue to do this, then I don’t think the ’Soul Bound’ ability will work as it was intended.]
He knew that slicing his soul was dangerous, but Dhruv didn’t have any idea it would be to this extent. With a frown, he asked, [Why is that?]
[As you know, all of us have ten percent of your soul, and if you were to continue doing this, then you will eventually reach a point where your own soul will be equal to ours... and then the problem arises...]
Pausing, she continued, [...As everyone has equal soul value, the ability can’t decide who is the creator and who is the creation. As there are six of us, the burden on your soul only continues to increase, and eventually, something we don’t wish will happen.]
Hearing all this, Dhruv couldn’t help but be forced to think about it for a second. This was something he had a feeling about but wasn’t ready to accept. He didn’t want to cripple one of the most powerful ways to create an army.
But after hearing all this from Aurora’s mouth, he couldn’t help but be hit by reality once again. In reality, everything doesn’t go as planned. He had to accept the truth of it.
Glancing at her, Dhruv asked, [What do you suggest then?]
[It’s simple, Master. As you have already copied the ability Stellar Soul, your soul has begun to heal, and although it will take a few months, you will eventually heal your soul perfectly. Still, even after having your soul healed, I don’t recommend creating more than one or two guardians, as even if you do, the collective of their soul value will still be lower than yours.]
After using every bit of knowledge she had on souls, Aurora gave the best advice she could.
[I see.] Saying these two words, Dhruv became silent as he began to think it through.
During all this conversation, the walk never stopped as the group eventually reached the portal and got out of it. Again, Dhruv told Archana to create a note about the Dungeon Keeper and tell him later.
Moving toward the house, he connected with Lyra and asked if everyone was ready or not. Feeling the same calmness in her voice, he found all of them were ready.
Organizing his guardians, Dhruv began moving toward the area where everyone had gathered.
