After some more discussion, Oliver finally got to hear their stories as well.

Korre had apparently been the first one to spawn among the three. The place she had arrived in was a strange field filled with countless flowers and plants.

At first glance, it sounded beautiful—almost magical even. However, that beauty was deceptive as the area was crawling with man eating flower-beasts, and most of them were Ravager-ranked.

Fortunately, one of Korre’s attributes allowed her to accelerate plant growth and even summon vines from the ground and because of the effect she had on them, the flower-type beasts hadn’t been particularly hostile toward her.

The real danger for her had come from the countless insect-type beasts that inhabited the region.

Hearing that, Oliver immediately understood where that giant wasp that had attacked him had come from.

Korre then pointed at Ahreum and Theo and a small smile emerged on her face.

"Then I met these two."

"They helped deal with those insect-type beasts, while I kept those giant flower things under control."

Theo nodded, though he looked slightly embarrassed by the praise and a little unsure of where to look.

"It was mostly Korre and Ahreum-noona that did the work."

"That’s not true," Korre immediately replied. "We would’ve become food for those bugs, if not for you."

Theo looked away awkwardly as he hid his face.

"You say that now, but I think that you could have managed alone even without me or Ahreum-noona."

"It’s true though."

Korre shrugged casually.

"You were the one who kept telling us how to defeat those beasts. Even though you can’t use your doctrine much cause of the backlash, you helped the most. Half the time, Ahreum and I were just hitting whatever you pointed at."

Theo’s ears turned slightly red while Oliver thought,

’Backlash?’

Meanwhile, Ahreum simply nodded.

"She’s right."

Theo immediately looked even more embarrassed.

"It wasn’t that much."

"It was," Ahreum replied in her usual direct tone.

Theo opened his mouth as if to argue, then seemed to realize there was no point and gave up.

’Well, they certainly seem like a happy little family.’

The more Oliver listened, the more he realized how different their experiences had been from his own.

He then asked,

"How long have you been here... you know?"

There was no need for him to elaborate further. Everyone understood what he meant and it was Korre who replied.

"Today’s the fifth day for me and then I met these two a day later."

She then looked at him curiously.

"What about you?"

Oliver hesitated for a moment before replying.

"Ah... I died the day before yesterday."

For a brief moment, nobody said anything. It wasn’t that the answer was shocking—everyone here had died after all. It was simply strange hearing someone mention their own death so casually.

Oliver then asked hesitantly,

"So... ah... where were you guys thinking of going?" 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

Theo was the one who answered,

"To be honest, we just picked a direction at random."

He glanced toward the river nearby and pointed at it as he shrugged,

"At least there’s water here, so it isn’t the worst place to be."

’He doesn’t seem all that tensed by the situation. If it were the thirteen year old me, then I don’t think I would have been able to remain that calm’

Oliver still nodded as he replied thoughtfully,

"Well... Goldie here can somewhat sense the future and can apparently tell which paths leads to fortune and which ones are ruinous."

The squirrel immediately puffed out his chest proudly from the top of Oliver’s head.

"He’s actually the reason I ended up here. He kept pointing me in a certain direction. Looking back, it seems he somehow knew I’d end up meeting you guys."

Oliver paused for a seconds before adding,

"Though I don’t think he predicted the whole falling-into-the-river part."

Korre’s eyes immediately lit up as she looked at Goldie with renewed interest.

"Wait, really?"

"This little squirrel is that amazing?"

Before Oliver could answer, she turned toward Ahreum.

"Don’t you have a similar attribute, Ahreum?"

Ahreum shook her head.

"Not really."

She thought for a moment before trying to explain.

"My attribute’s description says that it has something to do with foresight, but I can’t actually see the future or sense things like that."

"I can just sometimes, vaguely sense what my opponent is about to do and use that to defeat them."

A thought immediately crossed Oliver’s mind.

’Wow... isn’t she basically the perfect counter to whatever weird thing my body does?’

If his body really could predict attacks and move on its own, then Ahreum’s attribute sounded dangerously similar to his own.

The difference was that while his ability seemed to take control and force his body to move, Ahreum remained fully aware and in control of her actions.

Thinking about it that way, her version honestly sounded much better.

’Why does her ability sound so much more convenient than mine?’

Of course, he kept those thoughts to himself.

He then looked at the three of them again.

All of them had managed to survive here for nearly a week.

Whatever their abilities were, they clearly weren’t weak. More importantly, there was strength in numbers, and after spending two days alone, Oliver had absolutely no desire to go back to talking exclusively with a squirrel.

So, he cleared his throat.

"Ah... so can I, you know... join you guys?"

Korre immediately looked like she was about to answer, but unfortunately, Ahreum was faster.

"No."

Oliver froze as he was confused.

’She seriously just said no? Did I do anything to make her hate me?’

Before he could react, Ahreum continued.

"No problem."

Her words came out with a noticeable accent, and it was obvious she had paused for a moment because she had forgotten the English phrase she wanted to use.

Oliver stared at her with a strange look as he thought,

’Seriously.’

Meanwhile, Theo looked away and Korre pressed her lips together.

Both of them seemed to be trying very hard not to laugh, it was obvious that both of them had already gotten used to it.

Meanwhile, Ahreum appeared completely unaware of what had just happened.

After a few seconds, Oliver simply shook his head and smiled.

"Well, it’s nice to join you all then."

Korre finally failed to hold it in and laughed and Theo wasn’t far behind. As a result, even Ahreum seemed to realize what had happened and she looked faintly embarrassed.

"...My English is fine."

"Of course it is," Oliver replied immediately.
