Chapter 71: What is going on

Everything was going as Cormac wanted. Even though the boy had put a little hitch in his plan, it was still going well. The audience was in disarray.

Everyone wanted to know what was wrong, and they all demanded answers. What is going on? Who is that boy and why is his blood purple like their Bloodscion’s own?

Cormac stood in the middle of the stage, flanked by his other Elders. Of course, there is no seniority among the elders, but it was generally known that the Elder of Defense, the commander of the Blue Shield, is their unofficial leader.

Cormac was giving orders to all the Captains available. He is locking down an arena, and he has already given the order for the total lockdown of the palace. "We have to get those two! Who knows how many of them are inside already? Arrest all those entertainment people!"

Erestor, the Elder of Justice, pushed his glasses up on his nose. His hair is more white than blue now, but his eyes still burn with the same blue light as ever. "Elder Cormac, I suggest we take it easy. Locking down the palace without waiting for Bloodscion’s order..is a bit improper."

Cormac twitched, his third hand inside his robe clenched. Soon, he reminded himself. "I am responsible for the protection of this palace. I can decide when the threat is big enough to lock down the palace."

"Hahaha," the Elder of Diplomacy said. "You are certainly right. But don’t you think we have better things to worry about? Like who that boy that carries the blood of the Pure Hydraeus is."

"Yes!" The financial Elder, a chubby aashaka chimed in. "That is something we should talk about. And why worry about tiers two and four? This is the Great Clan of Hydraeus!"

The others nodded. Elder Erestor was giving Cormac a look he didn’t like. He had to do something now. It’s time! But before he could move green light blasted what remains of the viewing stand of the Bloodscion away.

Then, the broken metal and glasses, held together by green lightt,t, groaned as it formed a stair that led downward. Luc Reginald came into view, his face like a thunderstorm, and then he stepped away with a bow.

She descended the stairs, one step at a time, taking her time. She has the same slender build of all Hydraeus, her hair a braided purple twisted into a crown, and her eyes were col,d, cold purple.

She held a naked sword in her hand. Immediately,l y, she touched the stone of the stagand e, and everyone standing went to their knees. The Elders stopped at that but the rest touched their head to the stone.

The Bloodscion looked over the bowed head, her gaze searching even though she knew he had left the arena. Her son. Back from the dead. She gripped the sword tighter and wished she didn’t have her powers taken. "You can all stand."

They did. The audience, the people present, even though they are Nobles and elite themselves, were amazed. The Bloodscion isn’t someone who shows herself to the public; she prefers to rule through her subordinates.

When she spoke, her voice was like that of a war bell. A sweet chime warning of incoming doom. And Cormac shivering despite himself.

"Where is my son Cormac?"

"Y..your son?" Did she find out what he did already? Cormac glanced around, but he didn’t see who he was looking for. He gritted his teeth, where is that blasted man?

"I saw him now. I felt him before the blue shield chased him away."

Cormac breath easy, she didn’t know. "But your Majesty! That must only be an illusion! Our prince, the Scion," he sucked in a breath. "We will all know if he’s returned from the Reckoning Sanctum."

Bastard boy! Why did he have to appear here? A coward like him! I should have killed him when I had the chance!

The Elders all nodded. Bloodscion shared a look with Reginald, a frown. She knew what she felt. That was no illusion.

Before anything else could be said, they were interrupted by a blurring yellow streak. Captain Zhilana landed in front of them and went to her knees. Reginald’s sword was already at her neck before he retracted. "You are alright, Bloodscion." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

She frowned down at her Captain. "Why shouldn’t I be?"

"I saw Scion Thaedric...."

"My son! Did you see him? Where?" She demanded, already turning toward the entrance.

".....he was in a hurry. Something about saving you and he warned about Elder Cormac." Captain Zhilana looked over at him and grinned.

Cormac stiffened as everyone turned to him. And it was then that he saw the Iridessa, he appeared in front of him and dropped a small wooden case. With a bow, he was gone again before Luc’s sword could reach him.

"Cormac! What exactly is going..."

He didn’t let her fight; Cormac gathered water fast; he conjured it around himself; it fell around him like a flood, and then he blasted it outward. An explosion of super-fast water that chews through anything in its way.

Two of the Elders behind him were blasted away in a spray of blood. Unlike Elder Erestor who has guarded Elder Eriolyn with his poison gas.

Yellow light flared in front of him as Captain Zhilana made. Defense shield around the Bloodscion. Every other rashaka around him was dead. Even some of the audience were caught in. It was a powerful technique that gave no one a chance to prepare.

"What do you think you are doing, Cormac." The Bloodscion asked, voice like an ice sword.

Cormac has used the chance to open the small case that Iridessa dropped. And he stood up with its content. "What does it look like? I’m dragging you out of that throne of yours! I’ll kill you and anyone who opposes me here!"

Zhilana clenched her jaws. "I always knew you were rotten."

The Bloodscion looked at Cormac calmly then she shook her head. "Kill him, Liming. I have to find my son."
