A Farmer's Journey To Immortality-Chapter 468: Light Devour Physique P02
"Now do you understand why I kept my daughter hidden?"
The Blackblood Lord asked.
"Yes, Master," Aksai said quietly. "I understand."
He nodded slowly, his gaze drifting back to Humeyin.
She stood like moonlight—bright, distant, and untouchable. A genius unlike any other, yet trapped by her own special physique.
One could say she was strong and weak at the same time.
She could grow very powerful in a short time, but if others exploited her weakness to sunlight, she wouldn't be able to do much to defend herself. In a way, she was a vampire without fangs or the annoying stardust, for which Aksai was thankful.
Aksai also wondered if Humeyin's bloodline had anything to do with her physique. Even though he hadn't studied members of clans with special bloodlines in depth, he had done his fair share of experiments in a similar field.
His research related to Spirit bloodlines was quite different from vessel bloodlines, but there were some overlaps. Because of that, Aksai could often tell a lot about a person's special traits just by observing their aura.
He was half-convinced that what Humeyin was experiencing was a rare form of vessel bloodline awakening—something that had changed her body and given her a unique way of cultivating.
Or maybe it was an atavism of her vessel bloodline, triggered by some unknown event.
However, he couldn't deduce anything more without knowing the source of the bloodline. After all, bloodline evolution and atavism were two different ends of the spectrum. And they both translated to huge changes.
As such, the possibility of treating her never crossed Aksai's mind.
Not to mention, what Humeyin was experiencing wasn't exactly a sickness. It was more like an extra trait of her bloodline—something she had no control over yet.
Aksai finally understood why Haitin had been so confident a few weeks ago when the Core Formation Lords from the righteous faction tried to interfere.
Back then, Haitin had played a dangerous game. He had stirred chaos in the Wild Devil Lands to force the Haan Di Lord out of hiding.
Aksai had thought it was a bit reckless, even arrogant no matter how calculated his actions were. But now, things made sense.
Haitin had never placed all his hopes on himself. He had a backup—his younger sister, Humeyin. A Core Formation Lord hidden in the dark.
Of course, Haitin couldn't just send her to deal with the other Core Formation Lords head-on. That would've been too risky and exposed her to danger.
But if those Lords had dared to break the rules—stepping into the sect grounds or trying to find the hidden path to the Holy Land Torel—then he would've asked her to intervene. With the kind of resources his sect had, it was possible to silence a Core Formation Lord forever without Humeyin exposing herself.
Thankfully, it never came to that. The righteous Lords stayed within the boundaries of the agreement. Humeyin was never revealed. Her presence remained a secret.
The Blackblood Lord chuckled, as if reading Aksai's thoughts.
"This is why I chose to agree to the Yaksha Lord's terms," he said, voice calm and dry. "Even though I knew he was up to something."
Aksai turned to him, listening carefully.
"He thinks that after my death, the Blackblood sect won't have any Core Formation Lords to defend its interests. So he'll make a move—most likely using official reasons.
He'll claim that he needs to take control of the resource-rich lands under our protection. The demonic faction's resources need to be cultivated with care after all. So no matter how selfish his reasons were, his words would sound logical.
That's the kind of person he is. He won't act openly at first. He'll use politics and words."
The Blackblood Lord reached into his robes and pulled out the vial again—the Spirit Nirvana Pill.
"And he gave me this," he said, raising the pill so it glinted in the faint light. "Thinking I would use it on Haitin."
He gave Aksai a sideways glance.
"Even though Haitin is talented, hardworking, and a genius… breaking into the Core Formation Realm is not something he can do right away. The Yaksha Lord knows this. We all know this.
He's betting that during this time, we'll be weak. Vulnerable."
The Blackblood Lord paused. His smile returned, a little colder this time.
"But what he doesn't know… is that the Blackblood sect already has a Core Formation powerhouse."
He looked at Humeyin and smiled before continuing further.
"And with this pill, she's one step closer to becoming something far greater," he said. "A Nascent Soul Queen."
His voice lowered, like he was speaking to himself now.
"The only question is… how soon can she reach that level?"
The Blackblood Lord then turned his eyes toward Aksai, his smile fading into something more serious.
"The reason I brought you here and introduced you two," he said slowly, "is because I want your help, boy."
Aksai straightened slightly, caught off guard. Before he could ask what kind of help, the Blackblood Lord pulled out the glass vial again and held it between two fingers.
"Tonight," he continued, "my daughter will take this pill. The same Spirit Nirvana Pill I obtained from the Yaksha Lord."
He turned and pointed toward the center of the grand formation—where Humeyin had been sitting earlier.
"Hahah. The Yaksha Lord isn't the only one who dared to adventure in shady places by himself. T]here's a rare and groundbreaking 3rd Order Spirit formation in my possession.
It can boost a pill's effects by up to twenty percent, depending on how powerful the pill is and how well the user can absorb the energy within."
The Blackblood Lord then snapped his fingers and the Spiti formation that Humeyin had used as her Yantra changed. A new 3rd Order formation emerged as the Array Eyes and Essence Equations were replaced.
Aksai looked at the new formation with curiosity. His interest was piqued once again. It had to be said that the major demonic sects were indeed major demonic sects.
He could never match their foundation in his current state.
But maybe he could make use of the situation to his advantage and get some more benefits from the Blackblood sect before his trip to the Duya Forest.
