After Having a Dream, I Became Pregnant with a Billionaire's Child-Chapter 61 - Someone is Coveting His Wife
61: Chapter 61: Someone is Coveting His Wife
61 -61: Someone is Coveting His Wife
Everyone in the elevator was looking at Emily Parker, who appeared indifferent.
She glanced at Sophie Parker and with a swift move of her hand, pushed Sophie out of the elevator.
Sophie did not expect Emily to suddenly do such a thing and she fell to the floor, sitting down hard in her high heels.
“Emily, what are you doing!”
Sophie shouted.
“Can’t you see?
The elevator is overloaded.”
Emily pointed at the red indicator light on the elevator.
It was then that Sophie realized that the elevator was indeed overloaded.
The elevator had a capacity of only 20 people, and with Rainny White, it was exactly full.
“Aren’t you supposed to be helpful?
You wouldn’t make her take the stairs, would you?”
Emily said, pressing the elevator door close button casually.
The elevator doors closed, and Sophie, pale with anger, quickly got up under the astonished eyes of the others.
Looking at the nearby elevator, it was under maintenance.
It was the morning rush hour and the next elevator was uncertain to come soon; the preliminary contest was about to start, and there was still no sign of the elevator.
Sophie, furious, gritted her teeth and cursed Emily as she awkwardly climbed the stairs.
As she came down from the elevator, Emily walked out amidst the crowd.
She took a look at Rainny in the elevator.
After Rainny walked out, she seemed a bit at a loss.
“Turn right.”
Emily reminded her.
Rainny, startled, took several steps back.
Though she couldn’t see, she could hear.
She had “heard” everything about Emily’s bullying of Sophie just now.
In her mind, Emily was a malicious woman.
Seeing that she didn’t move, Emily didn’t say anything and went to draw lots.
The preliminary contest for selecting the Capital’s image ambassador was very simple; candidates just had to introduce themselves briefly in front of a few judges, who would then score and filter them.
Every three contestants were grouped together, and Emily was grouped with Rainny and another female contestant.
They waited outside a large room; the previous group of contestants had already gone in.
Inside the large room, there were seven judges, four men and three women.
“Why isn’t Carlos here?”
Faye Manor approached Oliver Ross, curious, and asked him.
“Third Master Manor, our boss is busy today and couldn’t come, so he let me replace him.”
Oliver observed the female contestants present and mused how bold they were, flirting with the younger male judges during their introductions.
Faye was unsurprised by this.
He, being the third son of the Manor Family, may not handle serious business, but he was always enthusiastic about participating in events like this, especially when there were beautiful women to look at.
After watching for a while, Faye grew disappointed.
He yawned,
“Master Carter was wise to foresee that the overall quality of the contestants this time was this dismal, I wouldn’t have come either.”
Reluctantly, Faye lifted his head to look at the three female contestants who just entered.
He pointed out the first one who came in to Oliver and said,
“Look at this one, a plastic surgery face.”
“And this one, she’s listed as 25, but from her neck lines, she looks at least 35.”
“The last one, no chest, no hips.”
Faye unapologetically ruled them out.
Oliver, not particularly understanding these matters, just voted along with Third Master Manor.
Then, Oliver excused himself to the restroom.
“The next group, numbers 36, 37, and 38.”
Emily was the first to come in, number 36, followed by Rainny, number 37.
There was also a third contestant, number 38.
When the three walked in, Faye was instantly dazzled.
The number 36 was absolutely stunning, with distant mountain eyebrows and a traditional oval face, her eyes sparkling and her slight smile revealing captivating dimples.
The following number 37 wasn’t bad either.
Although not as ethereal as number 36, she had the appearance of a demure and charming young lady, which was how university students should look.
Just these two had significantly raised the standards of this selection for the image ambassador.
Faye hurriedly took out his phone and snapped several photos of Emily and Rainny.
He looked over the photos and saw that number 36 was very photogenic, looking good in every shot.
Such beauties needed to be shared with everyone; Faye quickly sent the photos to his and Carlos’s and a few other childhood friends’ WeChat group.
“Master Carter, you really missed out by not coming to the preliminaries today.
There are two exceptional beauties…”
Emily recognized Faye as the unlucky person she and Carlos had left on the mountain to catch the wind the other night, but she pretended not to know him and maintained a smile, smoothly completing her introduction.
Although Rainny was blind, her performance was also impressive; she had specially prepared a section of her introduction in English.
Once all three had completed their introductions, Faye didn’t hesitate to pass numbers 36 and 37.
Number 38, too nervous and plain-looking, was unceremoniously eliminated by Faye.
Most of the judges were sponsors, with the Manor Family being one of the biggest sponsors besides the Carter Family.
Seeing Faye’s vote, several judges also unhesitatingly followed suit.
Seeing herself eliminated, number 38’s face turned ugly.
She became indignant on the spot,
“Why not let me through, it should be number 36 who’s eliminated.
She isn’t even a full-time undergraduate graduate, she doesn’t qualify to participate, and you organizers don’t even review, it’s too unfair.”
Number 38 had also been in the elevator and had heard everything Sophie had said.
Seemingly afraid the judges wouldn’t believe her, she pointed at Rainny next to her,
“Number 37, you said you are a student at Capital University, students from prestigious universities shouldn’t lie, right?
You were also in the elevator just now, you heard it too, her sister said she was a junior college student.”
Rainny hesitated, feeling the gaze of the judges as well as Emily simultaneously fall on her.
Rainny, afraid of offending anyone but recalling how Emily had just marginalized her “lifesaver,” nodded lightly.
Out in front of the large room, Sophie, panting heavily, finally arrived.
She remembered while climbing the stairs that the venue for the preliminary contest was on the 63rd floor; she had climbed up all the way, out of breath, her carefully made-up face now covered in sweat.
Upon arriving, she saw several preliminary contestants waiting outside the large room.
A few female contestants were standing outside the room, and they heard the discontented voice of number 38 coming from inside.
A few women spoke gleefully,
“Did you hear that?
Number 38 just said inside, saying that number 36 does not meet the entry requirements at all, and it looks like her participation might be disqualified.”
