Near the Bunkers, Half an hour ago.

Bang! Bang! BANG!

Althea and the others watched as Garan's Aegis wall was repeatedly pounded on, several elements attacking it directly.

More and more fissures appeared as the seconds passed by, soon turning to open gaps.

CRACK!

The wall began to crumble, starting in certain areas, especially those attacked by continuous fire. When those appeared, it was like a landslide, and the rest of the dome—to its apex—turned to granular shards.

The dome behaved much like tempered glass when broken, so even if the shards fell down on them, they wouldn't cause injuries. This was a detail that Althea would have appreciated if there weren't bloodthirsty enemies emerging as soon as it did so.

That said, as soon as an opening above them appeared, Jake immediately activated a flare, while Althea created temporary earth platforms to quickly reach the guard house embedded on the mountain— giving her a platform above eye level.

She held out her bow and arrow, removing the earth platforms as well. She also activated vines to hide this guardhouse, hiding her in plain sight.

Gone were the days when she could kill enemies with one shot, but she could at least injure them—or at least distract them—enough so her teammates could handle them.

That said, she was far more useful as a hidden distraction than a direct target. She knew these people were targeting the Lord, and she was one of the 'possibilities' for that. If she remained in plain sight, the enemies would go after her and distract the others.

Anyway, now that the tall ice wall was down, they could hear the scuffle outside more clearly and it was obvious a few teams had arrived to help them out—even before they activated the flares.

Although the area outside the bunkers was mostly an open area, it was still easily monitored from a safe distance via scopes.

As soon as the hostile forces arrived at the area, flares were lit up, pointing in their direction. Considering Garan assigned more than one watcher, then the flares definitely came from different directions, adding urgency to the situation.

It was why it took a while for the enemies a while to break the wall down. Alterrans were there to block them. After all, the Aegis Wall was amazing, but their enemies had higher levels than its creator, so it wouldn't have lasted as long otherwise.

Anyway, the enemy was obviously quite powerful and there were still a few enemies who were freed enough to focus on attacking the dome, who eventually destroyed it successfully.

For now, the number of enemies was more than ten, with a group of Alterran guards taking on an aborigine or two, which was indicative of the enemy strength.

Most of the enemies were in their mid to late level 20s, while the leads were all past level 30, and Althea and the others tensed up at the sight of them.

While most of the enemies were being mobbed by Alterran guards and citizens who came to help, the leads were more focused on breaching their area.

This was Futch, the level 32 water elementalist, Damco, the Level 31 wind user, and Feller, the level 35 fire user—also responsible for causing the greatest damage to the walls.

Ansel, Jake, and the others immediately lunged towards them, employing various tactics to maintain a semblance of safety while keeping the enemies at bay.

Ansel, who was less than level 20, bravely sent a barrage of fire fists at the nearest ones, causing him to separate from the rest of them. At the same time, the other two were mobbed by Jake and the others, isolating them.

The guards then took out their shields and created the iron circle, with Ansel using his flamethrowers to attack the person they trapped, who happened to be Futch.

However, his defense equipment was nearly untouched before this and—including his higher level—the damage he received during this barrage was limited.

It still hurt though—and it hurt like heck. "STOP IT YOU BASTARDS!!" Futch screamed, feeling the burning sensation all over his body. He immediately activated his own element and water exploded around him, pushing the Alterrans back a few inches.

Fortunately, the Alterrans were well-shielded and didn't get much injured, though it did give him a chance to punch and kick a few people. However, the Alterrans' positioned themselves low with their legs far apart, stabilizing them somehow.

The one Futch kicked was an Earth user, too, who managed to reinforce himself with his element, so he wasn't kicked too far.

This annoyed Futch and he decided to attack that particular shield again out of spite. However, how could Ansel miss this opportunity?

Ansel used what a proper fire user must use against a water user: Use Petrol!

Splash!

Boom!

"AHHH!"

The Alterrans hid under their shields as they watched the man burn in flames stronger than before, this time unable to easily put it out. If he got close, Ansel would simply send another flamethrower and pour a few bottles more of oil in the process.

"AHHH!"

Seeing as the useless teammate was being pushed around by people nearly half his level, Feller knew he had to make a move.

He cursed and kicked his enemy—Jake—to go to Futch. He raised his hand and literally pulled the fire off of him, killing it.

"Shameful!" he yelled, throwing him back to a few other of their teammates.

"...sorry," Futch gasped, immediately sitting up. He gulped several healing potions while glaring at Ansel.

Meanwhile, Jake had changed directions and directed a sharp attack behind Feller while he was distracted.

The fire user's eyes flickered and he managed to avoid the attack, though he did receive a small wound on his face.

"Orchsit…" Feller cursed, looking around them. These people were basically half their level, but so far they had yet to take anyone down. In contrast, his side was already in poor condition.

Worse: They were in enemy territory. What if more reinforcements arrived?!

"We can't stay like this…" he said, turning to the entrance of the bunker where they assumed the targeted Lord was.

They must get inside!
