After Transmigrating into a Novel with My Boyfriend, He Turned Out to Be a Native Villain-Chapter 15: Kiss Marks
When Jodie opened her eyes, she was met with the solemn faces of Jiang Xi and Hou Liang sitting beside her.
She sat up, looking dazed. "Mom? Dad?"
What was going on?

Seeing her awake, Jiang Xi leaned in with a serious expression. "Jodie, what exactly did you see last night?"
The question immediately pulled Jodie back to the horrifying scene from the night before. Her previously confused gaze turned to sheer terror. Her face paled as she clutched Jiang Xi’s wrist, her voice trembling. "I saw... a man’s head in the tree. It was terrifying, Mom..."
"And—his mouth was speaking in Joeci’s voice. But when I argued with Joeci last night, her mouth spoke in a man’s voice."
Jiang Xi and Hou Liang exchanged a heavy glance. Then Jiang Xi pulled her anxious daughter into a comforting embrace, her voice steady. "Actually, last night, we followed Joeci."
"What?!" Jodie gasped in shock. "You followed her?"
She was about to raise her voice when Jiang Xi quickly covered her mouth. "Keep it down—Joeci is still in her room."
Jodie nodded, indicating she understood, and whispered, "So, what did you find out?"
Jiang Xi told Jodie everything from last night, then fixed her with a firm gaze. "Jodie, Joeci is most likely planning to harm you. You must be careful, understand?"
Thinking of how Joeci had killed their younger daughter, Jiang Xi's eyes filled with bitter hatred. "I don’t care if he is a ghost or some kind of demon. If he took our daughter’s life, I will make him pay!"
Hou Liang stepped forward, lowering his voice. "I know an exorcist, but he can’t arrive until this afternoon. In the meantime, your mother and I plan to check out the place you saw last night. We’ll bring Joeci and Joeger with us. Until then, act normal. Don’t provoke her, alright?"
Jodie nodded repeatedly, suppressing her fear as she bit her lip. "I understand, Dad."
—
When they left the room, trying to maintain their usual expressions, they found Joeci already sitting on the couch, casually flipping through a newspaper. Seeing them, she smiled sweetly.
"Good morning, Mom, Dad."
Ever since they realized the person in front of them was not their daughter, the couple found it impossible to look at Joeci the same way. But for now, they had to keep up appearances.
"Good morning, Joeci," Jiang Xi replied with a smile. "You’re up early today."
Joeci narrowed her eyes slightly, glancing at Jodie at the back of the group. Her voice carried an unmistakable hint of mockery. "Aren’t we going to check out what big sis saw last night? Just thinking about it got me too excited to sleep."
Jodie pretended not to hear the sarcasm and simply sat at the dining table to eat breakfast.
Da Dong sneered, withdrawing his gaze.
But as he recalled that person’s expression this morning, he clenched the newspaper in his hands.
So that was where Young Master had gone last night—off to find that woman. No wonder he hadn’t returned to the villa.
And judging by his expression this morning, Young Master was in an exceptionally good mood.
Da Dong ground his teeth in anger. So what if she’s taking advantage of Young Master’s amnesia? Once that woman woke up, he’d kill that damned foreign woman himself—before Young Master regained his memories!
—
After finishing breakfast, the group gathered their things and set off for the woods.
Jodie led the way, but last night, she had been following the sound to find that place. Now, trying to retrace her steps purely by memory proved to be more difficult than expected.
After ten minutes of walking without finding the spot, beads of sweat formed on Jodie’s forehead.
This isn’t right. I was sure it was around here. How could it be taking this long?
Da Dong snorted. "Tch, I’m telling you—Jodie must’ve seen wrong. We’re just wasting our time."
Jodie immediately protested. "That’s impossible! It was definitely around here! We just need to find that tree!"
"Oh? Then by all means, take your time." Da Dong’s gaze was cold, as if he was certain they wouldn’t find it.
Jiang Xi attempted to soothe the situation. "It’s alright, sweetheart. Maybe you really did just mistake something."
"Mom! You—"
Jodie was about to argue, to remind them that they knew the truth too, but the moment she caught Jiang Xi’s meaningful glance, she shut her mouth. She bit her lip and muttered reluctantly, "Alright, Mom..."
Hou Liang, holding Joeger in his arms, patted her shoulder. "Let’s search a little longer. If we still can’t find it, we’ll head back."
Just as the atmosphere grew tense, a familiar female voice rang out in surprise.
"Oh my, what a coincidence!"
All eyes instantly turned toward the sound.
Standing there was none other than Yu Li.
She wore a simple blouse and trousers, the open collar subtly revealing a delicate collarbone. A golden necklace glinted in the sunlight.
A wide-brimmed straw hat sat atop her head, and her bright blue eyes carried a hint of amusement. Her makeup was immaculate, bold yet elegant. Her golden hair was loosely pinned up, exposing her long, porcelain-white neck—so pale it seemed to glow under the sun.
"What brings you all here?" she asked with a warm smile as she approached.
Jiang Xi had just opened her mouth to reply when she suddenly froze.
Her gaze instinctively landed on the faint red marks on Yu Li’s neck.
That... that looks like a kiss mark.
But wasn’t Miss Filia single?
Jiang Xi’s mind swirled with questions. But ultimately, it wasn’t her business. She quickly averted her eyes and smiled politely. "Jodie said she saw something terrifying here last night, so we came to check it out. What about you, Miss Filia?"
Yu Li nodded in understanding, lifting the small wicker basket in her hands. "I’m here to pick mushrooms. I was thinking of making soup later—would you all like to join me for dinner?"
As she spoke, her gaze shifted to Jodie. She asked casually, "What exactly did you see, Jodie? If you don’t mind, I can help you look for it."
Hearing this, Jodie immediately brightened with excitement. "Really?! Filia Auntie!"
But before Yu Li could respond, Da Dong suddenly shouted, "No!"
His expression darkened as he stared at Yu Li, his tone laced with hostility. "Filia Auntie, aren’t you busy? This is probably just Jodie’s imagination—no need to trouble you."
Yu Li merely smiled lightly. "Oh, I’m not busy at all. And since I’m already here, I might as well look while picking mushrooms."
Jodie ignored the demon’s words and hurriedly asked Yu Li, "Filia Auntie, have you seen any weird-looking trees? Like ones with strange carvings on them?"
Yu Li gently patted her head and spoke in a kind tone. "Sweetheart, I haven’t seen one myself, but I’d be happy to help you look."
Liar.
She knew.
She was the one who had him hanged on that very tree.
The resentment in Da Dong’s heart deepened. But at this moment, he couldn’t say anything. He couldn’t lay a hand on her—not unless he wanted to face Young Master’s wrath.
Jodie looked a little disappointed, but Yu Li quickly added with a smile, "Maybe if you go further in, you’ll have better luck. The trees deeper inside are much older."
"Okay! Thank you, Filia Auntie!"
The group continued walking.
Yu Li and Joeci trailed at the back, where Da Dong—unable to hold back any longer—turned his head and muttered darkly, his voice barely above a whisper, "You know who I am."
His certainty made Yu Li chuckle.
She didn’t deny it.
She simply gave him a faint smile and offered a quiet warning.
"Joeci, watch your step."
She crouched to pick a mushroom, and when she stood up again, they were far enough from the others to be truly alone.
Da Dong, eyes filled with venom, waited to see what she would do.
Yu Li calmly placed the mushroom in her basket, then lifted her gaze.
The playful glint in her eyes had vanished—replaced by an icy, detached expression.
She tilted her head slightly and smiled.
"Da Dong, is it?"
"If I killed you once, I can do it again."
