An Extra's POV: My Three Fiancees Hate Me-Chapter 21: Item box
Chapter 21: Item box
Everyone's eyes shifted to Liam as he walked in. The baron locked gazes with Liam, wanting to understand what he meant by what he said.
"The young master Riven isn't lying at all. I followed him all day, and what he said is true. He is an adventurer, and he also got into a fight with kidnappers that tried to take his life," Liam said, keeping an emotionless face as he spoke.
'Liam was watching me? I didn't notice at all. Does this mean he knows about my blood magic? I only used it once, he probably didn't see it,' Riven thought.
"Liam, is what you are saying true?" the baron asked.
"On my honor as a knight of the Grave family," Liam said, placing his fist on his chest.
"I see. Thank you, Liam," the baron spoke. His eyes trailed down to Riven, and he didn't know how to go from here. He was conflicted as to how to handle this issue.
"Enough of all this. You all have made the environment tense, and you are punishing my boy," a deep voice came from behind Liam. An old man with fully grey hair stepped out.
Though he was old, he was built like a mountain, and a strong aura radiated around him. He was dressed casually, much like the other old man that was seated there.
"Father," the baron said immediately the man stepped in. His father shot him a cold glance, and the baron took a step back in fright. It was as though there was an inbuilt fear for his father in his body.
"I can't believe that you would allow my grandson be pushed around, talked down to like this. But that's not an issue. He has proven himself better, unlike your belief that he was useless," his grandfather said, and turned to look at the Duke.
The Duke stared back, keeping up a calm and collected visage.
"Why don't we have this discussion tomorrow? The boy is tired and stressed. He almost got killed today. He is lucky to be alive.
I hope no one has an issue with that?" he asked while looking around, but everyone shook their head. It was a pile they couldn't refuse—this mountain of a man.
"Good. Then rooms will be made for you. I'll make sure that the best rooms are prepared for the Duke and his family," he said before turning to Riven. "Now you get out of here and clean yourself up, you reek of blood," he muttered in a low voice.
Riven nodded without hesitation and walked out. He immediately headed up to his room. As soon as he got to the room, he shut the door behind him and walked to his bed.
"Phew, that was tense." He sat on the bed and started taking off his armor.
He understood that what he had done there had both benefits and drawbacks for him. Him refusing to apologize to the Duke's wife was definitely not a good move, but it was the next move regardless of the outcome.
He could have allowed himself to say sorry when he was evidently not in the wrong in any way, and be looked down upon by some bitch that felt she was above him.
He took off all his armor and tossed it aside, removing all his clothes, everything that was on his body. He walked into the bathroom to get cleaned up.
After washing up, he returned to his room, got a clean set of clothes, and put them on. He walked to his door and bolted it, before heading back to his bed. It was time for him to open what he had gotten from leveling up.
[Lv2 item box.]
The screen popped up in front of him. He opened the box and looked at the content.
[Blood Scythe lv1]
[Flame Arc lv1]
[+2 to all stats]
He saw the contents of the box and a smile formed on his face. He had finally gotten some new skills.
[Blood Scythe: create a scythe from your blood and the blood of your enemies to deal attacks. Once used to attack, the scythe will deposit some blood into the body of your enemy, allowing you to use blood manipulation on him.]
Riven's eyes widened when he finished reading the description of the skill. With the scythe, he would be able to defeat even opponents that were stronger than him. All he had to do was land one cut, and that would be all for the enemy.
[Flame Arc: slashing to release a fiery wave that cuts and burns targets. High probability of engulfing the enemy in flames.]
He was happy with the skills he had gained, and he could barely wait to test them out, but that would have to wait for later.
He opened up his stats screen so that he could assign his stats. But before he could, a knock came at the door.
"Young master Riven, your father would like to see you in his office now," Liam spoke from beyond the door.
Riven already knew that this whole thing wouldn't end easily, especially with the fact that he had blabbered about the kidnappers when he was speaking out of emotions, and the fact that Liam confirmed it.

He got up and walked to the door. He poked it and saw Liam standing outside.
Riven didn't say anything; he simply walked by without a word.
"I know you are mad at the fact that I was following you without you knowing, and I'm sorry. Your father asked me to," Liam apologized.
"I'm not angry at you. You're a knight, what you do is follow orders. You don't question them, you can't say no," Riven said and kept walking.
Liam felt that even though Riven said it was all good, it wasn't really all good.
Riven, on the other hand, was worried about something else. He was worried about what and what Liam had told his father about what happened. The more detail Liam gave, the more issues Riven would face with his father.
