An Extra's POV: My Three Fiancees Hate Me-Chapter 36: Fighting the three part 2
Chapter 36: Fighting the three part 2
The three men heard Riven. They exchanged looks with each other before bursting into uncontrolled laughter. They thought that Riven was desperate and would say or do anything now to buy even a little bit of time.
But while they were laughing, Riven moved. He charged in fast, his speed vastly higher than before. In a second, he was already in front of the leader with his sword headed for his throat.
The leader reacted as fast as he could and made to block the attack, but as his sword collided with Riven’s sword, he felt a shiver run down his arm. The strength in that attack was not what he was expecting in the slightest.
His eyes widened. Did this kid get stronger or was he somehow hallucinating? Riven didn’t give him the time to come to a conclusion though, as he placed his hand right in front of the man, and with a sinister smile, he used Flame Blast at point-blank range. For sure, that was a death sentence.
Immediately after he shot the attack, he kicked back to retreat as far as he could. The explosion followed immediately after the attack, killing the leader instantly, while Riven was tossed back by the force. He slammed against a wall and fell to the ground, burn marks on his face.
He got back to his feet immediately, breathing heavily with his sword in hand, but even in that state, there was a bright smile on his face. He had successfully killed one of them. That made him happy to no end.
The two men stared at the body of their leader in disbelief. The thought that Riven would suddenly pull something like this and kill their leader never crossed their minds, yet here they were.
Riven understood that he had managed to kill the leader due to the surprise factor and the increase in his stats, but now he wouldn’t be able to do that again as the other two now knew that he was more dangerous than they anticipated.
He had to act fast and precise. His eyes closed into slits, he kicked the ground and ran at full speed, his legs barely hitting the ground before the other one was swinging.
He jumped off the ground, kicked the wall to immediately change his direction, and went for a slash. The man blocked the attack, his arms almost caved under the force, but they didn’t.
He immediately pushed Riven back, taking a few steps back himself. The second man charged in from the corner, attacking as Riven was finding his footing. He stabbed his lower abdomen. Riven did feel the attack, spun around quickly, and sent a kick into the rib cage of the man.
With higher perception now, he was able to read the battlefield better and make good decisions to help his fight.
The man arched forward as several of his ribs were shattered in an instant. He cried in pain but still managed to attack Riven’s lower leg, a slash that cut through the fabric of the armor and into the flesh.
Riven almost stumbled and fell. He managed to stop himself just in time, as the sword of the second man was coming for his neck. He blocked the attack, ignoring the biting pain that was coming from his leg.
He pushed the man’s sword back and went for a slash himself, but the man managed to block it as well. The man smirked, feeling he had stopped Riven’s opening, but Riven already had more in stock.
Suddenly, Riven formed a ball of blood and shot it at his face, blinding his view, and in the same hand, he pulled blood from his own wounds and made a smaller scythe. He dashed without holding back. The scythe dug into the neck of the man, killing him instantly.
His body fell to the ground like a sack of potatoes. Riven watched it fall to the ground with a cold glare in his eyes—no emotions, no care whatsoever.
The last man was still on the ground, struggling to get up. The pain from several broken ribs was too much to handle.
Riven looked down at him, his face filled with pure disgust. He raised his blade and stabbed the man through the back of his neck right into the ground.
[You have leveled up. 4 free stat points. Item box.]
He leveled up. He was starting to see the pattern of the system. It leveled him up after he faced anything life-threatening and won. He couldn’t say he had anything against this method, but it meant he would have to put himself in life-threatening risks to level up every time.
The man died without a struggle. He pulled the sword out and cleaned the blade on the man’s clothes.
Riven took a look at the floor. He was surrounded by four dead bodies, all because of him. He drew a deep breath to clear his head and then searched the bodies of all of them. He found spatial pouches on all three men, and a similar bag to his on the young adventurer.
He looked at the young adventurer before taking the bag, a sense of guilt overwhelmed him. "I’m sorry for causing your death," he said in a sober voice. He got up to his feet and headed out of the cave, returning from the way he came.
He wanted to leave the dungeon for now. He had already done enough for today. He was riddled with injuries, he needed to rest. He had also promised to play with his sister, so he didn’t want to spend his whole day here.
Riven was not worried about people finding the dead bodies inside the dungeon, as that was a common occurrence. No matter how much the kingdom tried to stop the killing of adventurers by adventurers inside the dungeon, it still happened frequently.
He made his way up the stairs to the first floor, and after walking for a while, he got out of the dungeon, the warm rays of the sunlight welcoming him back.
