An Extra's POV: My Three Fiancees Hate Me-Chapter 63: Gathering points
Chapter 63: Gathering points
"They found it and you killed it, that simply means it belongs to you. You shouldn’t hand out points to commoners recklessly.
After all, commoners lack the talent to go far. Giving them these points won’t do any good for them since they’ll end up not going to the academy," the one in armor said. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
"Well, that’s none of your business now, is it?" Riven asked, and immediately sparks began flying. They locked gazes.
"Please, take the crystals. You killed the monsters, you don’t need to give it to us," one of the boys from the party said.
Riven turned to look at him. "Take it, we don’t have use for it," he said. The boy tried to argue, but Riven’s stern gaze told him that he wasn’t budging.
The boy immediately took a crystal, and the three of them rushed out of the place, not looking back for even a moment.
The two nobles frowned as they saw this. He gripped his sword tightly, but as he did that, both Noel and Riven also grabbed their swords, sending out a silent threat.
The big one smiled and let go of his sword. "You should really be careful in this exam. Being generous will get you killed," he said.
"Keep your advice," Riven said and walked away, followed by Noel.
"We shouldn’t really spite nobles. Remember what Father said," Noel said.
"I understand that, and that’s why we left there without a fight. Else I would have shoved my foot down his throat," Riven said.
"I don’t know why, but I feel like we will run into them again," Noel said.
"And if we do, we’ll make sure to beat the crap out of them that time," Riven said.
They kept walking for a bit, and they came across a huge amount of blood bats hanging on the ceiling. Immediately the bats spotted them, they started attacking.
Riven began attacking with flame arcs, firing one after the other in a repeated fashion. The bright lights blinded the bats and the flames cut them down.
Noel was cutting down bats as well with his blade coated in lightning, but he kept glancing at Riven at intervals. He noticed that Riven was now faster than before; his speed and the way he used the blade were more refined than before.
’He got better in such little time? If I met him, he’ll definitely overshadow me before long,’ Noel thought. He gritted his teeth and began cutting down the bats with more vigor and skill.
After killing all the bats, they both gathered the crystals in equal amount since they didn’t know how many either of them killed.
Riven now had [120 points] and Noel had [130].
The first floor was not really going to do them any good, so they moved on and found the stairs to the second floor. They immediately headed down and got to the second floor.
Immediately they reached the second floor, they were greeted by a group of ten goblin archers that began shooting arrows at them.
"Shit, run," Riven said, and the both of them took to their heels. They ran to a corner and hid behind it as the arrows rained down.
"Archers?" Noel asked.
"Yeah, should have told you. The goblins on the second floor are far more refined than those at the top. I can’t tell if they are stronger, but they definitely are smarter," Riven said. And just as he was speaking, they saw what seemed like an orb made of wood roll towards them and suddenly explode with a green fog.
The fog covered everywhere in an instant, the smell so disgusting that it made the both of them retch uncontrollably.
"What the fuck is this?" Riven asked.
"I should be the one asking you. You came here before, after all," Noel said.
"When I came, I didn’t stay long. I left, and so I didn’t get to explore everything that was here," Riven said.
"They are trying to pull us out. I’m sure they’ll attack the moment we move," Noel said.
"I think I have an idea. If I use my flames, I can cut a path through the fog and also cover us," Riven said.
"That’s a good idea. Try using that flame wall of yours. We’ll use it to push towards them while I ready a blast strong enough to confuse all of them," Noel said.
"That works," Riven said and got up. He immediately cast the flame wall and blocked the path. They immediately started pushing toward the goblins.
The goblins started firing arrows at the wall, but none of them could get through. Noel charged up his sword with lightning as he followed behind Riven, and when they were halfway there, Riven dropped the wall and Noel launched forward, his sword in front of him, gripped with both hands.
Lightning crackled over it, hitting the ground as he ran. He leaped into the air and slashed down, releasing a massive arc of lightning that struck the ground and caused an intense explosion.
The goblins were immediately tossed in all directions, slamming into the walls and ceiling. With that opening, the both of them charged in and went for their kill.
They cut down the goblins without any more resistance, killing all ten of them.
As they picked up their crystals, Noel spoke, "They are easy to kill when you get through their defense."
"Yeah, but to be honest, their attack was quite genius. One wrong move and we would have been impaled with a dozen arrows," Riven said.
They picked up the crystals, taking five each and increasing their points by five hundred.
"I’m sure the others have started moving fast, we should too," Noel said.
They began their push through the second floor, coming across more and more goblins and blood bats. Some posed some level of issues, but some couldn’t get to attack before they died.
After half an hour of staying on the second floor, they had both amassed thousands of points.
Riven had [3320 points] and Noel had [3330 points].
