Apocalypse: Transmigrated General's Daughter Uses Space to Survive-Chapter 188: Real Strength
Chapter 188: Chapter 188: Real Strength
While Ye Xuan and Chu Hao were good in every way and didn’t need saving at all, the other three lacked stamina, strength, and strategy.
They attacked without a plan and someone like Chichi who had superpower that could affect the opponent didn’t know how to use it.
It was necessary to train them. After they had killed all the fishes surrounding them, Chu Miao checked the ones with uncontaminated bodies and had Chu Hao keep them.
They continued to move forward into the street with the stores. Most of the buildings here weren’t high-rise, the tallest building had only five floors.
Because the place was lower in altitude compared to their community, the second floor in these buildings were completely flooded.
To get into the shops, they had to go in through the third floor. Luckily, with superpowers, they didn’t need to worry about breaking in.
They simply used spiritual power to cut through the grill on the windows and broke the glass before climbing in. Because they didn’t know what would happen if they left someone behind to watch their boats, Chu Hao put them away in the space and everyone followed Chu Miao into the first building.
Upon walking into the room they had broken through, they found themselves in what looked like a small coffee shop. There were tables and chairs arranged in twos or fours around the room.
Near the door was a counter with a coffee machine on top. Inside a glass display compartment were expired and rotten cakes and different types of desserts.
The place smelled like a dumpster. Moving closer to the counter, one could see maggots moving inside and feasting on the rotten food.
Some of the maggots had transparent wings and even though they looked like lumps of moving fat, one could see some of them take off and fly as soon as they approached.
It looked like they could smell them because they were flying in their direction and hitting the glass used for display.
That sight was more disgusting than fighting zombies. Some of the maggots were the size of a thumb, the biggest maggots any of them had ever seen. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
It was obvious that they had mutated and like the zombie rats, they gained some abilities normal maggots wouldn’t have.
They also had some strength as the glass had started to get fine cracks from all their banging. It was clear that they had not escaped before because there was no target to guide them into leaving this place.
With the tantalizing scent of vibrant vitality emanating from all the humans who had entered the store, it was no surprise that these strange creatures would crash their bodies repeatedly on the glass in an attempt to escape and feast on real meat that had superpower and could enhance their strength.
Chu Hao couldn’t watch anymore and raised his hand to throw fire on the counter and burn them.
"Wait!"
"Wait."
Two voices came at the same time, one with more urgency than the other.
Looking at his sister and Ye Xuan standing next to each other and watching the maggots, he didn’t understand why they had stopped him from burning these disgusting things.
But he was aware that these two people wouldn’t do something on a wimp, they must have their reasons for stopping him. He just didn’t know why.
"Why did you stop me from burning them? If these things escape from this place and spread, many survivors will be in trouble.
They can fly and are smaller than other zombie creatures. Therefore, dodging them and protecting oneself against them is more challenging than escaping zombies." Chu Hao commented as he wanted to understand their plans.
"We need to take at least two or three of them as a research subject. If you burn all of them, where will we get more?" Chu Miao explained.
"Research subjects? You are not a scientist or a researcher, how are you going to research these things?" Chu Hao asked his sister again with a surprised expression.
"Did you forget the people on the eighteenth floor that Ah Xuan brought back a few days ago? There are three researchers in our team, we might as well use them well." Chu Miao replied to her brother.
When the others heard about having researchers in the team, they were surprised. They didn’t expect that this team had grown so much! Even having scientists working with them. They were glad they had taken the initiative to ask to join the team.
Zhao Lu also thought that his son’s condition had been a blessing in disguise. Because he and his wife wouldn’t have had the courage to approach such a formidable group. Therefore, their son’s illness was what forced them to overcome their timidity and seek help because they couldn’t bear to lose him.
Yang Leo also looked at these three people who had so much strength that waiving a hand could kill those fish they had been fighting for half a day within seconds.
He had realized that it’s not that they couldn’t have killed the fish the moment they surrounded them. They just wanted to use them for combat experience.
Moreover, it looked like among all of them, the young girl was the strongest and to her, even those fish with terrifying strength didn’t have the value of helping her gain combat experience.
He was also aware that this was a test for them. They didn’t want to recruit useless members who would drag them down. Thus, letting them fight to the point of collapse was a test to see if they would give up or put their teammates in danger due to their own selfishness.
It looked like they had passed the test because even when in danger of being bitten into two by those fish, no one shrank back. They had fought with all their strength until they couldn’t anymore and that’s when the other two, Chu Hao and Ye Xuan used their real strength to end the battle.
Chu Miao also cleared the rest with a wave of a hand. If he could become just half as strong as them, he would have enough ability to protect his family.
