Apocalyptic World: Surviving with my husband and my cute little babies-Chapter 102: Field Trip
Chapter 102: Field Trip
Elena swiftly set up the table and prepared a delightful lunch for the little ones. The kids gasped in delight as they watched the table, chairs, utensils, and plates appear magically. Then, the food materialized, causing them to shout with excitement.
Seeing them so excited, Elena couldn’t help but smile. She then took the opportunity to teach them how to use their [Inventory], reminding them to be discreet while doing so.
"Only use it when there are no people around, okay? Otherwise, they might try to kidnap kids like you who have magic abilities," Elena warned them seriously. She understood that some people could be cunning and might do something terrible if they noticed the kids were different.
"I will listen to Sister Elena," Little Koby said, making a promise. Angela nodded thoughtfully, vowing to keep a close watch on her brother.
Little Mia was confused about why she couldn’t perform magic, but as soon as she caught sight of the delicious food, she forgot about the [Inventory].
Today’s menu included crispy fried chicken, hearty veggie soup, and a vibrant fresh salad, ensuring the kids enjoyed a well-balanced lunch.
Elena gently placed Little Mia in a chair next to her while Ethan helped Little Koby settle beside his sister, Angela. As everyone began to eat, they savored the delicious food and cherished the time spent together, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere.
"Chicken, my favorite!" Little Mia exclaimed, eagerly trying to reach the dishes.
"Eat only what you can handle, okay?" Elena advised gently.
"We understand, Sis Ele," the kids replied in unison, nodding as they focused on enjoying their meal.
Elena then turned her attention to her husband, who was watching her with a hint of jealousy in his eyes.
’Why would he stare at me like that?’
"Husband, you should eat a lot of veggie salad. Be a good example to the kids," Elena playfully said, laughing at the sight of him still staring.
Looking at his wife teasing him, he smirked to himself, thinking, ’Let’s see if you can still tease me later.’
Everyone enjoyed their lunch, and afterwards, they checked the other sector.
"Do you want to join us?" Elena asked the little kids, who followed her like a chick.
The kids exchanged glances and eagerly agreed to join the fun. Elena teleported them to the meat processor.
It was their first time at the small meat processing plant, and the kids looked around with wide eyes, curiosity sparkling in their expressions as they absorbed the machine.
"Husband, Do you know how to operate this?" Elena asked while inspecting the meat processor.
"I don’t know, wife. Let’s call Uncle Anthony," Ethan suggested.
"Alright, wait a second."
Elena then used her [Telepathy] skills to contact Uncle Anthony. After learning they were inside the space, Uncle Anthony paused his work and told Elena to teleport him to their location.
Once he arrived, Uncle Anthony briefly explained how the meat processor operated, detailing the automated processes of slaughtering, cleaning, cutting, and packaging at least a thousand chickens daily.
Elena then teleported the chickens to be processed, and the kids watched in awe as the machines carried them through various stages. They marveled at the efficiency of the operation, but their excitement quickly turned to discomfort as they witnessed the slaughtering process.
"Is the chicken not suffering?" Little Koby asked, a little bit unsure.
Elena then explained to them that the process was humane. "Don’t worry, the chickens didn’t suffer. They are stunned before being processed, so they don’t feel pain. It’s all about respecting the animals and ensuring we have food to eat in a responsible way."
As they continued to observe, the machines processed the chickens with care and precision. Once the chickens were prepared, they were packaged into ready-made portions, neatly sealed, and labeled. Elena had requested that each package be marked ’Paradise Livestock’ for future use.
Once the production was complete, Elena stored the packaged chicken safely in the Southern Inventory sector, ensuring that they would be kept fresh and ready for later use.
The kids watched in awe, fascinated by the facility’s seamless operation. After a while, Elena decided it was time to move on.
"Let’s go visit Grandpa Ford in the Farming section! He’s been working on the fruits."
"I’ll stay here for a while," Grandpa Caldwell said, looking at the processor with interest and instructing. "Bring the kids along with you."
The kids cheered at the idea, and with a wave of her hand, Elena teleported them to the Farming section.
Upon arrival, they found Grandpa Ford examining a growing batch of fruits, deeply engrossed in his work. He meticulously took samples, intending to experiment with them later in his portable research lab.
When Little Mia greeted him, he finally returned to reality and quickly placed the sample into his [Inventory].
"Gwandpa, Little Mia is hewe!" she excitedly announced, her voice bright with enthusiasm.
Grandpa Ford looked up and smiled broadly, welcoming them to the Farming section. They were currently in the fruit area, surrounded by different saplings of fruits.
He began introducing each type of fruit thriving in the fertile soil. "Look at these oranges, apples, and melons! They’re growing beautifully. This soil is so rich that we can cultivate any fruit we desire, no matter the season."
"That is indeed fascinating! We should plant more when we have the time," Ethan suggested, admiring the healthy fruits.
The kids eagerly promised to help with the planting. "Gwandpa, I will help you!" Little Mia exclaimed.
"Okay, I welcome you all once I’m done tilting the soil," Grandpa Ford replied, preparing for the task.
Upon learning that Grandpa Ford used traditional farming tools to tilt the soil, Elena immediately suggested using her Golden Tablet for an automatic solution. With a wave of her hand, the soil was effortlessly tilled and ready for planting.
"Amazing! With this, I can plant with ease. For now, I’ll be busy. Give the kids a tour; they probably haven’t seen enough yet. Afterwards, they can help if they want," Grandpa Ford said, his excitement growing as he thought about planting the fruit seeds.
Elena looked at the kids, who were excited and eager to follow her. After finishing the tour, they all promised to return and help Grandpa Ford with the farm.
"Then we’ll leave for now," Elena said, teleporting them to the Eastern Lake to check the refilling station.
They spotted Ramon and Jessa busily sorting the finished product of the fully automated refilling water plant. As Elena suggested, the bottles had labels reading ’Paradise Water.’ According to them, the refilling station can accommodate at least ten thousand bottles daily.
"Boss, the water refilling station is fully automated, so we don’t need to do anything except for occasional maintenance," Ramon said as he stored the item in his [Inventory]. He planned to place it in the Southern Inventory sector later.
"I’m glad to see you’re adapting well to your new task," Ethan said, observing Ramon and Jessa as they worked diligently.
Noticing Little Koby searching for someone, Elena couldn’t help but ask, "Little Koby, what are you looking for?"
"I’m looking for Brother Andrei, Sister Ele," Little Koby replied.
"Yeah, where is Bwother Andwei?" Little Mia chimed in, her curiosity piqued.
Hearing this, Ramon replied, "He is currently feeding the fish in the pond."
Noticing their eager expressions, Elena understood their curiosity about the fish pond.
"How about we go visit the pond?" she suggested, smiling at the kids.
"Yay!" the little kids exclaimed, their faces lighting up with excitement.
"Alright. By the way, Sister Jessa, could you show Lydia around each sector later?" Elena asked.
"Sure, I’ll do it once I’m done here," Jessa agreed.
Afterward, Elena teleported them to the pond, which she had artificially created using the Golden Tablet for farming aquatic life. As they arrived, she wondered how the marine life was thriving in the new environment.
The kids were also curious and wanted to get closer. But Elena warned them to be careful; otherwise, they might fall into the water.
They searched for Andrei and finally found him at the edge of the pond, feeding the last two sections. Ethan was about to call him, but he noticed a young man assisting Andrei.
It was Daniel.
Seeing their brother Andrei feeding the fish, the little kids ran over carefully, their faces lighting up excitedly.
"Brother Andrei!" they called out in unison.
However, little Koby and Angela were particularly curious about Daniel, as this was their first time seeing him. They exchanged glances, their eyes wide with wonder.
"Who’s that?" Little Koby whispered to Angela, eager to learn more about the other brother.
Daniel was about to greet them and introduce himself, but Little Mia was quicker.
"This is Bwother Daniel! He has a little sister named Lucy, who is cuwwently sleeping in the hospital. Mom told me a while ago that she would wake up soon so we could pway with her!" Little Mia chattered excitedly, thrilled to have more kids around her age.
Everyone chuckled at Little Mia’s cute voice.
Daniel thanked her for the introduction and added in a serious tone, "Hello, nice to meet you all. As Little Mia said, I’m Daniel. Let’s work diligently and strive for betterment together."
Ethan observed Daniel, noting his business-like demeanor in his introduction. He wondered why the boy couldn’t just be more casual.
Elena, however, was accustomed to Daniel’s serious nature; it seemed he was finally revealing his true self. This time, he appeared calmer, perhaps due to the presence of his sister and the fact that the apocalypse from his past life had not yet occurred, sparing him from the brink of insanity.
Yes, the one person you should never underestimate in her past life was this boy, Daniel. He would do anything to win, even risking everything.
His sole motivation back then was to eliminate everyone he believed was responsible for his little sister’s death—he was convinced it was the aliens who caused the disaster.
"Hello, I’m Angela, and this is my brother Koby," Angela replied warmly.
Daniel nodded calmly in acknowledgment.
He then turned to Ethan and said, "Can I ask for a favor?"
