Apocalyptic World: Surviving with my husband and my cute little babies-Chapter 157: Changes in Paradise
Chapter 157: Changes in Paradise
When Elena woke up, her husband was already back and sleeping soundly, hugging her tightly with his hands around her belly.
It would have been a lovely and perfect moment, but when she remembered her husband was injured, she gently tried to remove herself from the embrace.
However, his sturdy arms wouldn’t budge.
’Why the heck is he hugging me so tightly?’
"Husband, wake up," she whispered gently.
When he still wouldn’t budge, she tapped his hands more forcefully.
She knew he was awake but just wanted to hold her a little longer, as he usually did.
"The baby is hungry, though. If you don’t wake up, then we both starve this morning," she insisted, hoping to be released and letting the magic word ’baby’ do the rest.
Ethan finally opened his eyes and looked at his wife’s smug face. He quickly kissed her happily, savoring the victory in her smile.
He then stood up, ready to prepare food for his beloved wife and baby.
Elena was furious, not because of the kiss, but because Ethan moved as if he weren’t injured.
"Stop right there. Do you still want to recover? Are you not afraid that your injury will reopen?" she nagged as she followed him.
Ethan wasn’t annoyed by his wife’s reprimands; rather, he enjoyed them. This was the scene he had always dreamed of.
Now, it had finally come true.
He felt like he had won the greatest lottery, except that disaster was threatening their peace, so he vowed to double his efforts.
"Alright, alright. Actually, the well water works like magic. It healed my injury significantly overnight. There are still some lingering injuries, but it’s not serious anymore," Ethan said honestly, taken aback by the well water’s healing properties.
Upon hearing him, she felt a sense of relief, but still wanted to check later for herself.
"Well, that’s because the Golden Tablet upgraded to Tier 1, making the well water more potent in its healing effects," she explained, detailing the changes.
"Wife, is the well water unlimited?"
"Of course not! If it were unlimited, I would have taken a bath in it by now, considering its effects on overall well-being. Unfortunately, it will dry up if we don’t replenish it."
"How? By using the Reserve Energy Tab, right?"
"Yes, if we want to replenish the well water, we have to use...," she sighed, "half of its points. In short, we need to gather more imbued items with spiritual energy."
"Don’t be sad; we’ll collect more."
"So let’s use it sparingly, for drinking and medicine only. Since the Eastern Lake water has minimal healing effects now, it would also be a good alternative," Elena continued, explaining the changes in the Eastern Lake sector.
"Oh, that’s good to hear. Well, it gives us motivation to take a bath there daily," Ethan winked, suggesting a different approach.
"You..."
"Take a seat now, wife; the food is ready," Ethan quickly changed the topic, afraid his wife would get angry.
"Hmmp, but this time I want sweet and sour dishes."
"Alright, no problem with that," he replied, then switched out the dishes and retrieved others. This time, they had sweet and sour chicken, fish, tofu, and orange juice.
"Please, add kimchi."
"Too salty," Ethan declined, aware that she had been eating salty dishes for the past few days.
She retorted, confident that she knew the best amulet. "Baby wants it."
Ethan paused, looking at his wife as she caressed her belly, suggesting that the baby really wanted to eat kimchi.
Although he knew it wasn’t a good choice, he relented since his wife was craving it.
He decided to opt for a less salty brand. "You win then."
Afterward, Elena ate with gusto while Ethan assisted her with whatever she liked. Soon, she began to talk about the changes within the space.
The plants were thriving, ready to be harvested as the time they had taken to grow had significantly reduced.
The livestock also flourished inside the space, multiplying at an accelerated rate.
The air they breathed was now filled with a soothing and relaxing feeling.
Along with these changes came the Golden Tablet.
"So you mean I can use my [Telepathy] skills now?" Ethan asked, raising his brows for confirmation.
"Yep! Besides that, your [Inventory] has also expanded."
"That’s indeed good news. You also mentioned that the Golden Tablet has added functions?"
"Well, it can now automatically build a facility as long as you have a blueprint and enough Reserve Energy points to fulfill the request."
"Let’s use this function for the most complex building. Since we don’t have enough imbued spiritual items, we can work with our current facilities, especially since most of the buildings we want have already been built."
Elena nodded in agreement and continued, "Aside from that, the number of people I can mark has now increased by 500, and the time allowed in Paradise is now 5 hours."
"That’s great! We can look for more suitable people later. The added time in Paradise will surely benefit us in terms of safety and productivity."
"Exactly! Now that our Paradise shop is running well, we need more supplies, especially bottled water."
Ethan nodded, contemplating the true power of the Golden Tablet. "Maybe the more we upgrade it, the closer it will become to a fully-fledged system."
"Well, let’s see about that."
The two then continued eating while discussing their upcoming plans during this disaster.
"Let’s expand our shop and visit other buildings. What do you think?"
"If that’s what you decide, I support you. Just later, when the snowstorm lessens a lot."
"Alright, let’s finish and visit Ramon," Elena said while sipping her refreshing orange juice.
"No need to hurry; I’ve already visited him, and the operation was a success, along with Oslo and Xander."
Elena smiled, reassured that everyone was doing well.
After finishing their breakfast, she took her vitamins, as Ethan insisted they were good for the baby’s growth.
Meanwhile, Grandpa Ford exclaimed as he saw that the vegetables he had just planted were now ready to harvest.
He quickly asked for help using the communication device, unaware that the[Telepathy] skills were now available for use.
However, the animal sector was also facing challenges due to an overwhelming number of eggs and livestock to manage.
They soon realized that the space had changed significantly and was now bustling with activity, keeping everyone busy with their assigned tasks.
The kids eagerly joined in the fun, helping Grandpa Ford with the harvest or assisting Grandpa Caldwell in picking eggs and processing the surplus livestock.
As a result, they found themselves with an abundance of resources, in addition to the supplies they had previously hoarded and the products generated by the thriving space.
This had been their routine for the past few days as they waited for Oslo and Xander to heal so they could reopen the shop, which had been closed during this time.
