Ashen Dragon-Chapter 617 - 58: Confronting the Three Gods
"Boom!"
In that vast distance, a thunderous roar erupted.
At last, the thousands of kilometers high Abyssal Wall was mercilessly destroyed by dazzling silver light, and the power of the deities broke through the chaotic barrier and the planar shield, descending upon the Anzeta Great Wilderness.
"He holds the Silver Sword in his hand, revealing the truth, punishing the sinners..."
Praise be! He is the valiant father, the stern justice, the radiance of truth and fairness..."
The swirling drums and jubilant hymns resounded between heaven and earth, as the one-armed man revealed himself, his forehead emanating a supreme white light.
In his remaining arm, he tightly gripped a steel-gray Warhammer. That was the "Hammer of Justice," signifying absolute truth, capable of identifying all lies in the world.
The man raised the Warhammer high, and instantly, brilliant light spilled from the sky, completely dispelling the power of The Abyss, bathing all beings in order, glory, and honesty.
The God of Justice, stern of jaw, wounded, fair—Tyr, at last descended upon the world in this moment!
Tyr was the mighty divine power of Heavenly Mountain and Jose Garden, with many among the Heavenly Legion being His devotees. Witnessing such a sacred spectacle, they devoutly prayed to the avatar in the heavens.
"Praise the God of Justice!"
"Lord..."
"Praise the great wounded, fair one, the maimed deity, the blind sovereign..."
Meanwhile, Cassius also looked up at the distant avatar, feeling that oppression of life essence inherent in his being, within his pale golden vertical pupils.
"The God of Justice, Tyr..."
Cassius muttered to himself.
In his previous life, he already knew of this deity; Tyr was an existence of mighty divine power, representing the harshest justice, opposing all deceit, rebellion against rules, and those who committed injustice or crimes.
Although he had witnessed the illusory presences of Tiamat and Bahamut before, this was the first time he faced a true incarnation appearing in person.
Cassius knew that the real trial was still to come.
The avatar of Tyr afar seemed to sense Cassius’s gaze as well, turning His head to stare at the Red Dragon in the distance with those black, empty eye sockets, the white light on His forehead even more blinding.
—That was the light of absolute truth.
In an instant, Tyr, with His gouged eyes, saw through the cause and effect of this demon invasion and bellowed loudly,
"Red Dragon!
You personally released Gelrazax, brewing this catastrophe of mass destruction!
Now, though the Vengeful Demon is dead, that body still does not belong to you. It is an abomination threatening the world, and you ought to return it to the Gods!"
His voice, like a bolt from the blue, was steady and powerful, deeply shocking all creatures.
The steel-gray Warhammer hovered in the sky, an invisible pressure spreading, as if the majestic scene of Heavenly Mountain appeared behind it, shaking even the vast wings of the Red Dragon slightly.
This was the mighty divine power of Heavenly Mountain and Jose Garden, the strength of the God of Justice, Tyr.
Merely an incarnation created by a wisp of divine power and Will, it exerted tremendous pressure on Cassius, who was in the Imperial Region—oppression at the very essence of life.
The voice of the avatar of Tyr echoed between heaven and earth, as relentless as the surging tide.
"Red Dragon, hand over the body of Karex to me, and we may excuse your sins, sparing your life for now."
"Heh heh..."
Cassius, looking up at the avatar of Tyr in the sky, merely chuckled softly, not answering immediately.
He continued to perch on the pinnacle of Dragon Blood Mountain, tens of miles apart from the divine incarnation in the high sky, confronting each other from afar.
In another Plane, facing such a being of mighty divine power, he would undoubtedly flee with his tail between his legs, without a moment’s hesitation.
But this is the Third Era, where Gods are not allowed to descend in their true form to the Material Plane.
Even the mighty divine power of Tyr, within this Imperial Region, might not be able to defeat Cassius—even if there is a vast difference in their status.
And this gave Cassius the confidence to face a deity head-on.
The atmosphere at the edge of the Ancytica Mountains suddenly became strange, even tense, as both sides started hurling insults at each other, incensed by the other’s actions.
The Retainers of the Empire glared at the Heavenly Legion from Heavenly Mountain, even cursing the divine incarnation in the sky.
"This old cripple dares to insult His Majesty Cassius like this!"
"Indeed, we cannot trust these bastards from Heavenly Mountain; they were causing trouble behind our backs when they attacked the North!"
"For the Empire, chase these Birdmen back to Heaven!"
The Heavenly Legion was no less defiant, facing the desecration of their words by these Dragon Blood creatures with stern looks and shining Silver Swords in their hands.
The followers of Tyr were always clear-cut, abhorring evil. They could not tolerate even a speck of dust in their eyes and were often called "Tyrants" by others.
"To insult our lord is to face the severest Judgment!"
"They dare to insult the great God of Justice!"
"These monsters, coursing with filthy Dragon Blood, worthy to stand with our glorious Heavenly Legion? They are only fit to become the ghosts beneath our swords!"
The air grew thick with the smell of gunpowder, both sides even drew their swords, causing localized friction. Under the blessing of faith, they glared at each other, ready to explode into battle.
However, at that moment, mournful wailing echoed across the land, a man with gaping wounds, burns, and other torture marks slowly became visible.
