Atticus's Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground-Chapter 1097 Revelations
Chapter 1097 Revelations
"So this is how it is..."
That night, Atticus had spoken many words, and yet, to everyone who listened, it felt as though the world was unusually silent.
Atticus had started his speech by clearly saying that he was still hiding things, but they were personal, and he had decided not to share them unless the need arose.
It went without saying that Anastasia, Magnus, and Avalon hadn't been okay with that, but they had respected his decision nonetheless.
And so, Atticus spoke on.
About the current situation of the alliance.
About the history of Eldoralth.
About the cores that each apex possesses.
About its implications.
About how many cores he possessed and also the opposition.
And finally, about the opposition.
The last part had been broken into segments, and Atticus first had to tell them what his thought process was when he came up with the assumption that there was someone controlling Jezenet and possibly the Dimensari.
Afterwards, he went on to narrate his first meeting with Whisker and the meeting he had with the man last night.
Here, he explained everything. The existence of multiple planes of existence.
How Whisker and his siblings had been sent down here to capture worlds by absorbing their core.
The true people behind the Zorvan threat. And lastly, Whisker's brother, who controlled the Dimensari and Vampyros.
"...that's it for now."
And by the time Atticus finished narrating everything, everyone in the room had somehow found a seat and lowered themselves into it.
They stared at Atticus silently, with expressions ranging from sheer disbelief to utter
horror.
The fact was, none of them knew how to react.
Finally, Anastasia was the one who broke the silence.
"Atticus... these cores... you can only get them by killing the one who holds them?"
Atticus met her gaze, which was filled with nothing but worry.
"There's another method," he said, but his voice was unsure. "But it's just as dangerous. Sometimes... it ends with both parties dead."
Anastasia's breath froze. "Oh dear," she whispered, her grip on Avalon's arm tightening.
Avalon tried to hold and steady her, but she slipped from his arms and stepped forward, pulling Atticus into a tight hug.
"You've been carrying so much..." she murmured against him.
Atticus held Anastasia, and his eyes shut slightly.
He had long since accepted their situation. But even so, being held by her... it felt good.
The others simply watched, still unable to say anything. The scale of what Atticus had just described to them was far too unimaginable. It took them many moments to begin to even comprehend it.
And then, finally, after what felt like hours, a voice broke the silence.
"...What now?"
All eyes turned.
Oberon stood there with arms crossed over his chest, his gaze serious and fixed on Atticus.
Of everyone present, he seemed to be the first to fully understand. The first to accept
it..
One by one, the others turned toward Atticus, waiting to hear what he would say. "Honestly," Atticus began, "there's no conclusive plan or way forward. Whisker's brother already went after the other Apexes and vanished. I don't know where to find him... and even if I did, I'm very skeptical about going to look for him."
The Gardener wasn't just any threat. He was from a higher plane. And if Atticus went after him, it would be in the man's own domain, giving him even more advantages.
The mood shifted instantly, turning somber.
They had hoped, expected, that there was a plan of action after hearing the devastating news. But what they got instead was the truth.
"So... what happens when someone absorbs this world's core? Do the people die?" Thorne asked.
Atticus's eyes sharpened.
That question wasn't as simple as it seemed. It was pointed. Thorne was testing the waters, wanting to know surrender was even on the table.
"They become the god of the world," Atticus said. "Dictating everything. Which means your lives... your choices... your very existence... will depend entirely on one person's
will."
Thorne's expression hardened. That was dangerous. Far too dangerous.
Just imagine a god wiping out an entire race simply because he woke up on the wrong side of the bed.
"So... there's nothing we can do but wait for our end?"
Bam!
Everyone flinched, turning briefly toward Vexarius, who had slammed his arm against the floor in frustration, cracking the stone beneath him.
They ignored him instantly.
"There's nothing we can do now but wait, yes," Atticus said. "But it doesn't have to be for our end. We need to prepare. To face whatever's coming with everything we've got. That's the reason I decided to tell you all this."
Atticus's gaze swept across the room. The paragons, beings who were supposed to be
proud, untouchable, now wore darkened expressions.
Despite their strength, fear was clearly written on some of their faces.
He didn't say anything else.
They were already bound by mana contracts and there can be no betrayal.
Now, they simply had to deal with their shit.
"That is all for now," he said. "Once the Aegis Shield comes down, we won't know what
to expect. If you have any questions... now's the time to ask."

There was silence for a brief moment, then a voice spoke.
"What's your plan?"
Everyone turned.
It was Zephyrion, the paragon of the Nebulon family, who had just spoken.
His question sounded similar to Oberon's, but it wasn't.
Zephyrion wasn't asking what Atticus wanted them to do. He was asking what he personally intended to do.
"I've observed you long enough to know that you always have a plan," Zephyrion said.
All eyes were back on Atticus.
"Unfortunately," he spoke, "the information I have this time around is too little to form any conclusive plans. But like with any problem that may arise, I strongly believe that the solution can only be power. So until this Aegis Shield collapses... I'll try and grow
as strong as possible."
"Then that's what we'll do too."
They turned to look at Magnus, who was leaning against the wall, arms crossed.
His expression was serious, and faint cracks of lightning danced around his form. He looked ready for battle right this instant.
