Chapter 329: Asking for help

Lyra felt like she was in a loop, "I’m fine, sweethearts." She kept on repeating those words again and again, trying to soothe her mates’ worry, but to no avail. They kept on fussing about her earlier breakdown and were convinced that she was hurt somewhere.

"It doesn’t hurt anymore," She said as Blake looked at her with skepticism. Victor, too, agreed with Blake’s doubts. Just a moment ago she had been crying her eyes out like the world ended. And it was clear that she was hurting but now she was suddenly fine? As though mocking his assessment, Killian looked completely recovered as he sat by their mate’s side.

If he looked fine then that meant that their mate was also fine. But his heart refused to let the matter be, not when he saw how much she suffered before.

Kyrell stood by the door as he observed all this going on without having the courage to intervene. He was not sure how Lyra would react to him after everything that happened. It was so hard not being near her and asking about what had hurt her. He thought it was best to stay out of her sight until she was ready to see him. He didn’t want to accidentally hurt her further. His musing came to a stop as it did to everyone when Demir returned with Darcio.

"Your Majesty." The older beastman bowed toward Lyra, and the latter showed her respect before looking at Demir.

’I’m fine,’ She mouthed, wanting to put his worry at rest. He seemed on the edge and Lyra couldn’t help but smile at him. It was understandable, he only saw her in pain before he left. He had not seen her recovered and well. She decided to talk to him separately later but before that, she had another important thing she needed to do.

"I would like to get checked in private" Lyra announced as she looked at her mates before turning to the older beastman, "Will that be alright?"

Darcio was initially taken aback by her sudden proposition but soon regained his composure when he saw Lyra’s stern gaze. She looked every bit like a queen. Regal and authoritative. Usually, the tribe’s healer came under the Queen’s command so it was not weird for him to obey her orders above his master’s.

"Of course, Your Majesty," He replied, making Lyra’s mates worry. Victor especially looked alarmed as he uttered, "I knew it. Tell me, sweet girl. Are you still hurting?" He thought she was hiding some kind of ailment to not worry them.

"No, Victor" Lyra stood up and reached for his wrist. She slipped her palm against his before giving it a gentle squeeze, "I’m fine, sweetheart." Then she looked at all her mates one by one and, in the end, settled her gaze on Kyrell. She smiled at him before repeating, "I’m really fine. I will tell you if something is wrong, and I will not hide things from you anymore. Please wait for me, sweet"

Kyrell was quick to realize who she was addressing and that made his heart flutter. He had thought...he had thought she had forgotten him or was too angry at him to even notice his presence. He knew it was wrong of him to think like this when everything that she suffered till now was his fault. Allowing Alice inside his tribe was his biggest fault and he would forever lament that decision. He should have drawn a clear line with her after his friend’s death. He, deep down, knew Alice’s hatred towards him and was arrogant enough to think that she would not extend that towards his loved one. Offcourse she would Target his weakness, that was what she was good at. Hitting where it hurt the most.

After all that fiasco, his only hope was that his Lyra loved him enough to not throw him away. He wouldn’t be able to live if that ever came true. She is and always will be his everything. And now, she once again, with her words, proved why she had his heart to her keeping. She was worried for him, even though she was hurting, she cared about what he was going through. How could he ever not love someone like her? Kyrell didn’t care what the prophecy meant; he didn’t care if it was the Sapphire of wish that brought him to her; no....regardless of all this, he was sure that he would fall for her again and again.

Lyra on the other side, turned her attention to Killian. She said no words nor gave any affirmation to him and yet her soulmate understood her. He was reluctant to part from her but also realized that his mate had something important that she wanted to do. He also knew that she would tell him if he asked later.

Blake, too, was of the same mind. He bent down and kissed the crown of her head before leaving with the others. Meanwhile, Demir gave a quick and knowing glance at Darcio, and the latter understood the meaning of it. His master will be asking about this matter; after all, that was where Darcio’s loyalty belonged. Prince Demir was his chosen Master.

As soon as her mates left the room, Lyra started talking.

"I remember my past life"

Darcio was surprised by her words, "My lady what does that mean...?"

"There is no need to hold back, Darcio," She said, "I know everything; I know that I was Rosalie, and about Blake being my husband," It felt weird saying that. Once Lyra decided to stay in the beast world, she had forgotten words such as husband and wife. Here, she had mates and vice versa. But Lyra often wondered about the sacredness of having a husband, the wedding ceremony and taking the husband’s last name. No matter how much she denied it, all of the above had a special place in her heart. Maybe it was because she grew up in the human world, or maybe it was because of seeing the healthy relationship her adoptive parents had. Marriage to her was something special.

Lyra had come to terms with not getting a husband in her life here, but everything changed after her dreams. She was still digesting the fact that she had lived another life in the Fae realm. Blake was her husband there and he was murdered in cold blood by someone close to her. Someone that she never wished to see again.....not in this life, at least. But fate seemed to have other plans for her.

"You have to help me, Darcio," Lyra clenched her fists, "I refuse to lose anyone close to me again" Her eyes shook with determination and unshed tears, "I have not one but Eight close to my heart in this life, I’d rather die than lose them. So please help me stop, Xenon"

Darcio had a conflicted look in his eyes, "He is King Xavier now, my lady. I hope you know that?"

"I know" Lyra broke down.

"And it is not easy stopping him. You must know that too"

She nodded. She knew him better than anyone else.

Darcio breathed in a shaky breath, "He will come for you, my lady. Like he always does"

Lyra took a deep breath, "I must stop him"

"I do hope you will, my lady"
