Becoming a God Starts with Acting-Chapter 92: [Fish] - Nerio’s Part (4)
Chapter 92: [Fish] - Nerio’s Part (4)
There were three rooms on the house’s first floor reserved for the exorcists.
Without waiting for anyone else to speak, Eryon said, "I want a room to myself. Don’t bother me!"
The humans all turned to look at him, their eyes practically asking, Are you serious?
Perhaps even until their deaths, they would never witness the terrified face of this foolish man.
Sensing everyone’s stares, Eryon instinctively wanted to retreat a little, but he quickly stood up straight, crossed his arms in front of his body, and frowned, saying, "What are you all staring at, huh? You guys seriously envy my beauty, don’t you? That Lucian guy from earlier, too!"
Then he touched his forehead and sighed dramatically, "Being too good-looking is a curse..."
Almost as if mentioning his flawless face could wipe away all fear and awkwardness, Eryon’s nerves vanished entirely.
The others looked at him, all slightly speechless, but Benjamin and Cocona exchanged glances, each already forming some thoughts in their minds.
At that moment, Benjamin looked toward the bald man and said, "I’ll room with Cyril, Ron, Leonard, Austin, and Eryon."
Cocona also spoke up—she would share a room with Alice, Vale, Bella, and three NPC women.
As soon as Cocona finished speaking, the blonde-haired woman raised her voice: "No!" She wanted to stay with the bald man and the others. It was clear that the NPCs in the group were closer to one another.
Even though, under normal circumstances, having women share a room with men when there was a choice would seem rather inappropriate.
However, Cocona didn’t plan to argue. Her arrangement followed common sense, but if the NPCs refused, it would be easier for humans to stay in contact and gather together.
In the end, the room assignments were settled.
Eryon’s face darkened. He said nothing.
"Hey, are you mad about not getting a room to yourself? Are you crazy or what?" Bella looked at Eryon, unable to stop herself from asking. She truly couldn’t understand this guy.
Faced with Bella’s adorable expression, Eryon didn’t respond any more kindly.
[Eryon feels like he’s the victim, hahaha]
[But seriously, thinking about how Lucian looked at him earlier, it’s a miracle Eryon wasn’t more freaked out]
[You could say Eryon’s mentality is just not normal... maybe the only thing he’s afraid of is losing that face of his...]
[Too bad he has no idea that’s exactly what’s coming, hahaha]
Once the NPCs entered their rooms, the humans gathered in Benjamin’s.
When they stepped in, Eryon angrily said, "You guys don’t believe me? That Lucian guy did look at me—that look in his eyes, I swear he was lusting after this face of mine!"
"You mean Lucian likes you?" Cyril asked with a laugh.
Eryon frowned, clearly annoyed: "That’s not what I meant. I’m not that narcissistic, okay?"
Everyone went silent.
Are you sure you’re not that narcissistic...?
Just then, Leonard suddenly spoke up: "I saw it too. Lucian was staring at Eryon’s face."
Eryon looked at Leonard in surprise, then quickly put on a disgusted expression and shoved Leonard hard enough to make him stagger. "Who asked you to speak up for me?!" he snapped, then walked over, crossed his arms, and sat down on a chair, acting like he didn’t care about anyone.
Leonard swayed a little but stayed silent, standing there without a word.
Eryon’s attitude was... genuinely irritating.
Cocona frowned but still spoke somewhat: "Even if Lucian did look at you, we don’t know what he wants yet. Calm down first."
Eryon didn’t respond.
Leonard glanced at Eryon, then at Cocona. He seemed to want to say something..., but in the end, he just pressed his lips together and kept quiet.
Alice couldn’t help but glance at Leonard. Her sharp perception picked up on the fact that something was off with him.
Benjamin broke the silence: "First off, let’s not forget—we’re a bunch of fake exorcists. From the NPCs’ perspective, there’s nothing wrong with this castle—just superstition from the William family. That’s why we were hired as pretend exorcists to play along and collect a hefty paycheck."
"If they find out the truth, the William family won’t let us off easy," Cyril muttered.
Cocona let out a small laugh. "The real issue is whether we’ll even live long enough to be found out by the William family. According to their people, some monster is disturbing their lives. The NPCs may think it’s superstition, but this is a dungeon. That monster will exist—and it’ll be coming for us."
Ron said in a low voice, "We don’t have any clues about this monster yet. Maybe we’ll learn something after surviving the first night. For now, be careful when using water. This monster may be heavily connected to water."
"Ha."
A mocking laugh suddenly rang out, drawing everyone’s attention. They turned to see Eryon, who scoffed and said, "This dungeon is literally called ’Fish’. What, do you think fish live on land now? Of course, it’s connected to water. Stating something that everyone already knows—how hilarious."
Ron pressed his lips together, wanting to retort, but in the end, he couldn’t find anything to say.
Meanwhile, Fiona slammed the table outside the dungeon in fury: "Unbelievable! Ron’s being bullied right now?! I want to slice that guy in half!"
Drake was also fuming: "A Team 1 member getting verbally shut down by a civilian... what a disgrace!"
Ron, completely unaware that his teammates outside were about to explode from anger over his "uselessness," simply chose to ignore Eryon.
Cyril shrugged. "Who knows, maybe it can even fly."
Eryon scoffed and turned his face away.
It was as if an aura around him screamed, "I’m the only one standing against the world."
Leonard looked like he wanted to say something, but Bella quickly stopped him: "Just ignore him."
"Tonight, we’ll explore the castle. Everyone, be prepared," Cocona said.
Eryon immediately cut in: "I seriously don’t understand why you people love rushing headfirst into danger. You could’ve explored the castle earlier instead of sitting around spouting nonsense that you could’ve saved for tonight."
Everyone: "..."
They all turned to look at Eryon.
The expression in their eyes was... honestly hard to describe.
[Hahaha, he just said the obvious aloud—oh god, look at everyone’s faces. Eryon must survive, hahaha, I can’t—]
[Seriously though, why don’t they explore while it’s still light out instead of waiting for monsters to show up?]
[In the end, no matter how strong they are, these humans are still new to unique dungeons. Their thinking is still rigid—they need better team coordination.] fгeewebnovёl.com
[I get that the humans want to align their thoughts first, but this is hilarious. Eryon may look like an idiot, but his words are always painfully accurate!]
Eryon frowned under all their stares, visibly annoyed like a bristling cat: "What are you all looking at me for? No need to admire the smart guy, you bunch of idiots."
Cocona’s eyebrow twitched. "If you fixed your attitude, you’d be a rising star."
Eryon raised an eyebrow. "Why don’t you try growing your hair out?"
He looked straight at Cocona, his blue eyes full of mockery and disdain. "You won’t even change your hairstyle on a whim, but you expect others to change their personalities?"
He shrugged. "Who do you think you are?"
The atmosphere suddenly turned strangely tense.
Bella hurriedly pulled Cocona back and said, laughing awkwardly, "Haha, alright, it’s getting late—how about we all rest? We can continue this discussion tomorrow morning, okay?"
