Betrayed by Fiance, Embraced by Hidden Tycoon-Chapter 235: What He Wants?
Chapter 235: What He Wants?
A few days later.
It has been a few days since Abigail and Sawyer returned to their home at Garden Hill Complex.
However, Abigail still feels uneasy about her grandmother, who now lives under the same roof as Grandpa Philips.
Her main concern about her grandmother living with Grandpa Philips was her fear that Serena and her family would make things difficult for her Grandma.
She didn’t want them to bully her grandmother. She was worried and wanted Grandma to live with her and Sawyer, but her grandmother convinced her otherwise.
Her worry was groundless when Grandpa Philips assured her that Serena and her family rarely visited him unless he invited them.
Her Grandma also invited Aunty Rosa and her family to move in and work as personal medical staff. This was one of the reasons she finally agreed and felt at ease about letting her grandmother stay at Grandpa Philips’s house.
Grandpa Philips also mentioned that he would be throwing a small party to announce his marriage to Grandma Sophie on New Year’s Eve next month.
Abigail and Sawyer planned to attend the party, where Abigail would be officially introduced to the family as part of the Philips family.

In the past few days, Abigail has started to return to her activities, taking care of her new company, Camellia Modern Design.
Today, she visited the CMD Building with Vincent, while Sawyer suddenly had to see her Grandparent’s house. He usually comes with her and waits for her on the fifth floor at their love nest.
Upon arriving at the office, Abigail was excited to check on the second floor, where some employees had already begun working. They had hired a few new staff members from Urbangrid.
Milan also worked for a few days before her; she now serves as her personal assistant and manages recruitment. ƒreewebɳovel.com
Sawyer kindly helped her manage her office by assigning Vincent and Brody to manage the building’s staff and the security staff on the first floor.
...
"Oh my god... Boss, you’re finally here!" Milan said, her gaze clearly showing panic and excitement as the elevator doors opened. She quickly followed Abigail to her office.
"What happened, Milan?" Abigail asked, curious but continuing to enter her office.
"Boss, we have a problem!" Milan’s voice caught Abigail’s attention.
"Is there a problem with our project? Why do you look so frightened, as if you just saw a ghost?" Abigail asked, sitting in her chair. She attempted to open her laptop, but Milan’s response stopped her.
"Boss, someone came earlier to see you."
"Did they have an appointment? I don’t remember having any meetings scheduled this morning." Abigail was puzzled, wondering why Milan looked so scared about what seemed like a simple matter.
"Boss, this person—"
"Milan, there’s no need to panic. You can ask them to make an appointment," Abigail responded calmly, turning on her laptop.
"Boss, that person was Ryland Wood. He came to this building this morning and insisted on seeing you."
"WHAT! How did he know this was my office?" Abigail was utterly shocked. "Milan, I thought you had ensured that everyone from Urbandgrid signed an agreement not to leak any information about me, right?"
"Yes, of course! They all will face a hefty penalty if they leak any information. I suppose Ryland Wood learned it from another source. I was just as shocked when I found out he came this morning; he tried to force his way in, but the guard downstairs stopped him."
Milan reported, her hand clenched tightly in worry.
Abigail didn’t rush to respond. Instead, she stood and looked out the window, ensuring Ryland wasn’t outside. As she pondered her next move, she began to devise a plan to confront that scum.
After a few minutes, she turned to Milan. Her thoughts started to clear, and she felt less worried.
"Does he come alone?" Abigail asked to verify if her foolish step-sister Vanessa had followed Ryland.
Milan nodded. "Yes, Boss... I don’t see anyone else coming with that man. So he is likely coming alone."
"I see. Did he say what he wanted?" Abigail inquired.
She’s particularly curious about why Ryland is still trying to meet her after their unpleasant encounters. She recalled the last time Ryland suddenly appeared at the nursing home, attempting to harass her. Still, Vincent had intervened and dealt with him.
Milan looked at Abigail, her voice trembling. "No. He just wanted to meet you. Boss, what should we do? That person already knows our office, and I’m sure he won’t let us have peace..." She was still anxious about the possibility of Ryland returning and causing trouble for their new company.
Having worked with Ryland for several years, Milan was well aware of how rude and ruthless he was in business; he would do anything to achieve his goals. Now, her concern for Abigail’s safety only grew.
"Boss, please say something..." Milan repeated after a moment of silence, noticing that Abigail was lost in thought.
Finally, Abigail smiled at Milan. She understood her fears and walked over to pat her on the shoulder.
"No need to worry, Milan. Since we’re in the same industry, we can’t hide this company from Ryland forever. Sooner or later, he will discover our existence. I’m just surprised he got wind of it so quickly..." Abigail paused as she walked over to the coffee maker in the corner.
Milan felt slightly relieved, but her worry lingered.
"But boss, even though we don’t operate in the same business since we lack a construction division, what if he still wants to cause trouble for our company?"
Abigail took her time responding, preparing her coffee latte before turning to Milan.
"Seriously, boss, why do you look so calm? You know how terrible Ryland Wood is, right?" Milan asked, following her to sit on the couch.
Milan became slightly suspicious, noticing how different Abigail seemed lately. She had changed considerably in the past few weeks, having her own building and a dedicated security team on the first floor.
She wanted to ask about it but worried it might sound too intrusive regarding Abigail’s personal life.
After siping her latte, Abigail smiled and glanced at Milan. She set her cup on the table.
"Milan, there’s something I want to tell you..."
