Chapter 77 - 072: Do Your Subordinates Know What Kind of Person You Are? (Second Update)
Tong Airui chuckled good-naturedly, "Even better if they saw it. Saves me from having to explain."
Yi Luowa tugged forcefully on his collar before letting go, "Tong Airui, you're a lord, for heaven's sake, with so many people under your command. You keep doing things like this—do your subordinates even know the kind of person you are?"
"Go tell them and see if they believe you." Tong Airui smirked, "Besides, I just kissed you. Even if they knew, it's not exactly a crime or anything."
Yi Luowa rolled her eyes at him, then rested her chin in both hands, staring blankly out the window.
Tong Airui tousled the top of her head lightly, "What are you thinking about?"
Yi Luowa dodged his hand, "Nothing at all."
"I'll help you find your parents!" Tong Airui ruffled her hair again.
Yi Luowa tilted her head, avoiding his hand. "I already said I'm not looking for them!"
"Even if you find out who they are, you don't have to acknowledge them. But if you never find out, you'll regret it for the rest of your life." Tong Airui gazed steadily at her. Her profile appeared even more defined, with a touch of exotic charm.
Yi Luowa pouted and stopped speaking. What Tong Airui said was, in fact, what she had been thinking about.
The rest of the way, Tong Airui didn't bother her anymore. She gazed out the window while he silently watched her.
When the car arrived at the hospital entrance, Yi Luowa suddenly remembered the "strawberry" mark on her neck. She wrinkled her nose at him, "Where's the scarf?"
Tong Airui glanced around, "Where's the bag?"
"Bathroom." Yi Luowa pouted toward him, "Go fetch it for me. I'm covering up your crime here."
Tong Airui chuckled and stood up, "I'd rather you didn't cover it up."
"Hurry up!" Yi Luowa pointed at her neck, "Otherwise, I'll tell my second uncle I got bitten by a dog!"
Tong Airui shook his head helplessly, "I don't even know which of us is the servant around here."
As Yi Luowa heard him mumble that, she headed toward the bathroom, a grin stretching wide across her face. This guy seemed pretty adorable sometimes.
Tong Airui came back swiftly, handing the bag to Yi Luowa. She pulled out a scarf, casually looped it around her neck, and stuffed his jacket into the bag. "We can leave now."
Tong Airui glanced at her scarf and then picked up her backpack before stepping out of the car.
Hei Zi rolled over a wheelchair, and Yi Luowa settled into it. Yuan Hang took the bags from both of them, and the group boarded the elevator together.
Yi Weiyang heard the commotion and turned his head toward the door. Seeing Yi Luowa and the others return, he smiled benevolently, "I thought you'd take a bit longer to come back."
Yi Luowa, seeing that he seemed to be in good spirits, pouted playfully and asked, "What was she here for?"
"Just some childish chatter." Yi Weiyang smiled indifferently.
"Ao Lie, what exactly did she say when she came?" Yi Luowa, seeing her uncle dodge the question, raised her gaze to Ao Lie.
"She was dragged away by the time I arrived." Ao Lie answered truthfully.
Yi Luowa then shifted her focus to Aunt Li's face.
Aunt Li guiltily lowered her head, "I stepped out to buy something for the second master. I wasn't around."
"And what about the people outside? How did they just let that little lunatic in?"
"She was wearing a nurse's uniform. Who would've guessed it was her? Don't make a fuss—you're giving Tong a reason to laugh at us." Yi Weiyang shot Yi Luowa a pointed glance.
Yi Luowa turned back to look at Tong Airui, "Why haven't you gone to rest yet?"
"I have something to talk to Mr. Yi about." Tong Airui said as he walked forward.
Aunt Li hurriedly moved a chair over.
Just as Tong Airui sat down, Yi Luowa lightly cleared her throat.
Tong Airui grinned at her, "What I need to discuss with Mr. Yi isn't what you're imagining."
"I'm just afraid you'll spout nonsense and rile up my second uncle to the point of making him sick again."
"Luowa!" Yi Weiyang reprimanded unhappily.
Yi Luowa pouted in grievance, her expression so pitiful it tugged at the heartstrings.
Tong Airui gave her a deep look before speaking in a serious tone, "Mr. Yi, has Uncle Li reported anything about the Yi Corporation's situation since returning these last couple of days?"
"He mentioned a few things, but he's not very refined—it's all thanks to your team's help. Tomorrow, someone from France will be sent over, although I suspect their involvement won't necessarily smooth things out. After all, Xi Meichen's influence has grown considerably over the years."
"It's not an issue! The people from Zuoyuan will continue assisting you until you fully take over the Yi Corporation. Mr. Yi, actually, what concerns me isn't whether you can smoothly assume leadership. What worries me is the management afterward. These past few years, Yi Corporation has clearly been under Xi Meichen's control. More than half the people in the entire group are loyal to her. Once you cut off their financial lifelines, they'll likely stir up trouble in the future."
Tong Airui's words were blunt, and Yi Weiyang nodded in agreement.
"This is something I've considered as well."
"What's your plan?" Tong Airui asked in a low voice.
"The simplest option is to dismiss them, but the consequences would be severe. Letting too many people go could paralyze the company. On the other hand, making such a big move right after taking over might dishearten the veteran staff. If their morale crumbles, it won't be conducive to the growth of the Yi Corporation. Tong, do you have any good suggestions?" Yi Weiyang looked at Tong Airui, clearly troubled.
