[BL] Accidentally Becoming the Healer of the Deranged Archduke-Chapter 54: Beauty Like a Living Poetry
Chapter 54: Beauty Like a Living Poetry
Xion was not surprised to see two people rushing to him as soon as he signaled Berry to send people in.
Perhaps it was the aftereffect of yesterday’s farce, as the crowd outside the clinic was far bigger than it had been on previous days.
Lucian Valaria and his companion both had pale faces. Just from their haggard appearances, Xion could tell they had not gotten even a wink of sleep last night.
How could they, when their kin had been fighting at the door of life and death?
Whether it was from crying or lack of rest, their different colored eyes, yellow and brown, were equally red.
"How is my child? Is he fine? Can I see him now?"
In an instant, Xion was bombarded with such frantic questions.
He could understand their worry. Patiently explaining the situation, he escorted them to the curtained bed.
The moment they heard the peaceful snoring, their faces visibly relaxed.
"Thank the goddess," Lucian choked out, pressing a hand to his chest in relief. Turning to Xion, he bowed deeply. "Thank you, thank you so much, Caped Healer!"
Xion: "...?" Who?
"I owe you this favor. If, in the future, you need anything, as long as it’s within my capacity, I will fulfill any of your wishes!"
Lucian was so enthusiastic that even his previous dull yellow hair seemed to bounce with vitality now.
"It’s all right," Xion said with a slight wave of his hand. "Just make sure to pay the fee. Stay with him, and follow the instructions I’ve written. He’ll recover faster if you’re careful."
After advising them on necessary precautions and prescribing a few herbs for Nikolai’s continued recovery, Xion excused himself.
Before he could take a breath, he was swarmed by people.
Regardless, he was eager to treat them. Despite his urge to take care of Rael with his own hands, he could not afford to linger in the inn any longer.
Only the system mall could help him now. His priority was to unlock the next level, which would grant him access to intermediate and high-grade supplies, as soon as possible.
For that, he needed merit points. As many as he could gather.
Xion took a deep breath, rolled up his sleeves, and focused.
He paid careful attention to even the minutest details of each ailment. Meanwhile, Noxian, like an eager puppy, helped deliver the medicinal herbs.
Xion caught a falling pack of calming tea just before it hit the floor. He tousled nervous Noxian’s hair with a small smile, "Good job, baby,"
Noxian beamed and trotted toward the shelves to gather more supplies.
Hours passed in a blur. But amidst the chaos, Xion overlooked one crucial detail.
Yellow hair, or golden blonde as one might put it, was a hallmark of nobility.
The color originated from the royal family. As members of royalty married into different noble clans, their children also inherited the same hair color.
Marquis Roberto, whose great-grandmother was a royal princess, was no exception.
However, only the royal family possessed hair and eyes of that unmistakable, rich golden hue. Just like Lucian Valaria and his son, who had now opened his eyes.
Nikolai was sure he would not survive this time. He had secretly gone to meet a beauty while hiding under the shadow of the moonlight.
He acquiesced it was ungentlemanly to stop the beauty when she did not even know him. But he was sure once she knew his identity, she wouldn’t refuse his request.
So, he made a bold move. He called to her, but she did not respond. In his agitation, he reached for her wrist.
Then, he got beaten up.
How was he supposed to know she had a secret guard following her?
And what did they mean by pervert? All he wanted to do was paint her!
Since then, his stomach had been in constant agony. His parents, worried that he had been targeted by the devil for offending the servant of the holy maiden, tossed him into the church.
He knew he did not have much time before the devil claimed his life. But how was he still alive?
Only after his father recounted the events did he learn that a healer had saved him.
His gaze followed the busied figure far away.
As the mysterious healer stepped closer to inspect his body, Nikolai’s yellow eyes shone with brilliance.
The familiar thrill was raging in his heart!
He wanted to hold those hands.
The slender fingers grazed his stomach. A slight chill lingered on the touched area and he shivered.
Although, whether the shudder was from the coldness or something else entirely, even he was not sure.
The soft, unblemished skin carried a faint, natural glow, like delicate porcelain kissed by pure moonlight.
The pink nails were perfectly shaped, and faint blue veins traced delicate patterns beneath the surface. Every graceful motion the healer made was effortlessly captivating.
If Nikolai had to describe his feelings, he could only utter, "A living poetry."
In the next second, a familiar hand clamped over his mouth. Who else could it be if not his best friend and personal guard, Kai?
Kai knew this illness of falling for beauty was taking hold of his master again.
It had already caused them so much trouble. He did not dare to let Nikolai utter any nonsense.
The glare in Kai’s brown eyes spoke silent warning, and his grip tightened just enough to hush the already guilty Nikolai.
Regardless of the speaker of the murmured words, he ignored them. That was until someone tightly grasped his hand.
"Yes?" Xion, although confused, asked patiently. He was certain he had already explained everything.
Kai removed his hand, and the next words tumbling out of Nikolai’s mouth left the trio stunned.
"Give me your hands, please!"
Xion: "..." Why is everyone after my hands?
Lucian, embarrassed and mortified by his son’s shameless behavior, instantly apologized, "Forgive my son. I will take him back right now."
Xion wiggled his wrist, but it was no use. The grip was too strong.
Kai had to forcibly pry Nikolai’s deadly hold off the healer’s hand. Before Nikolai could embarrass himself further, another sharp glare subdued him.
Xion rubbed his reddened wrist. With a frown, he distanced himself from the weird patient.
"I’m sure you have a personal healer," Xion nodded to Lucian. He could tell they were wealthy and most likely nobles. "You can take care of him on your own. Please leave."
Xion had encountered two perverts. One was Soren and the other was Caspian.
While he was not entirely sure of Nikolai’s intentions, he still was not willing to take any risks. Especially not when he lacked the means to defend himself.
Kicking out the struggling Valaria family, Xion finally got rid of his troubles. Or so he thought.
Thereafter, when Xion, exhausted and weary, returned to the inn, he was met with an angry and menacing Rael.
