Blacksmith of the Apocalypse-Chapter 1303: Two done
Chapter 1303: Two done
Seth had fulfilled his deal with Nam, adding another powerhouse to their allies and checking off one of the points from his To-Do List. The other deal for Dowloon's outfit that would withstand her toxic powers was also about to be completed.
As he worked with Rùn on deciphering the blueprint, he also heard about Neeco putting in a request and having the parts he had needed finished. Seth felt like it would be a good idea to give the tailor workshops a visit today.
This was not just about his deal with Dowloon, but Seth also wanted to check up on Nädel and see how he was fairing with Mina's new set, using the shadow hide the blacksmith had refined earlier. Although Seth had a list of things he wanted to do, he was free to decide where to start. If Nädel needed some other parts or materials, he was going to personally provide them.
An outsider may have thought that Seth was playing favorites, telling Neeco to get his stuff from the journeyman, while he was ready to provide Nädel with anything he needed, and they would have been right.
Although the blacksmith had a much better relationship with Neeco now, he still liked Nädel a lot more. On top of that, Nädel was making the legendary garment for his fiancée. Obviously, he was way more invested in that than the outfit for Dowloon, who had tried to play tricks on him. Following his gut, Seth visited the tailors after getting breakfast in the kitchens.
“Seth, what bring you here so early in the morning?” Nädel greeted him joyfully, as he opened the door to his workshop. the tailor seemed to be in a great mood, but the bags under his eyes told Seth that he probably worked through the night.
“Good Morning, Nädel. Did you stay in your workshop the whole night?” Seth asked worriedly. He was there too, but the blacksmith had usually doped with stamina potions to get through it. Nädel didn't look like he had even so much as a coffee.
“Haha, what is one night burning the midnight fuel? Come in,” the tailor invited him in. Nädel's private workshop was covered in paper scraps, resulting from experimenting with various sewing patterns, as the blacksmith recognized.
“I was just a little too absorbed in the work, but I managed to perfectly adapt the patterns I prepared to the material you brought me. I really think this will become my master piece,” the tailor explained in high spirits, when he noticed Seth's look around the workshop.
Seeing the man so enthusiastic, Seth could only smile wryly. The blacksmith had known that Nädel's biggest dream was becoming a tailor master, hence his effort to help him, but it seemed he still had underestimated how much the elder was looking forward to finally reaching his life's dream.
“Here, you should have some of these, or your body will break down at this rate,” Seth cautioned him and placed an assortment of potions he himself used to use when he was working on the horses for the horsemen, or whenever he needed to work through the night, or several.
Although he was worried for Nädel, mostly because of his age, how could he stop the man after seeing him so happy? He didn't have the heart to tell him to take it slower. All he could do was make sure Nädel wouldn't break down, trying to keep up with his motivation.
“Oh! Thank you, I will use them wisely,” Nädel said, looking at the potions with appreciation. Seth liked to imagine, that the old man understood his worries and appreciated that he didn't stop him. Nädel too a sip from the health potion and the stamina potion and immediately looked healthier and more energetic.
“But this isn't what you came here for, is it?” Nädel asked the blacksmith after putting the potion back down.
“Oh, yeah. i actually wanted to see Neeco's progress with the set for Dowloon and thought I would give you a visit, too. To see if you needed anything from me, or in general. You know, custom parts, armor plates, materials, just name it,” the tower master explained why he initially came by.
Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.
“That's convenient, there really is something I would like to request. I remember that you brought back bales of
and spools of
from the war. Do you think you could allocate me three spools and about half a bale of the silk?” the old tailor shared his request.
The silk and thread he mentioned were part of the spoils of war he had looted from Natina's body. The necromancer had probably gotten those from Aela, the legendary Arachne she killed and revived as an undead.
and
were like the
of the tailor world. The threads and silk were incredibly durable, but still very soft and comfortable to wear, making them a very well known legendary material, exclusive to high-level Arachnes.
Apart from their incredible durability, which gave them the same protective power as epic or even relic-rated materials, they were magic-neutral. Like , they had a high magic conductivity but not associated magical effect, which meant it was a material that could be used in conjunction with other materials, without getting in the way of magical effects or skills, only empowering them if anything.
Although Seth wasn't a talented tailor, he could roughly guess where the Tailor was going with this request. Adding the silk would make up for the hides' apparent lack of physical defense, without getting in the way of its specific shadow properties.
This was just based on his superficial understanding. He knew that, unlike Neeco, who had only been learning for a few years, Nädel knew many kinds of tricks and techniques that could imbue various other effects into his works. Just remembering that any work he had from Nädel was able to raise the item's defense by 50% when supplied with mana, made him expect even more from this than he could imagine.
“I will get you those materials; you don't need to worry,” Seth promised. They talked for a while longer and Nädel roughly explained what he intended to do, confirming the blacksmith's guesses for the most part.
After his meeting with Nädel, Seth walked a few doors over, to see if Neeco Boos was in his workshop. After a few knocks, the tailor opened the door. This time, Seth didn’t have to wait for his creative phase to come to an end before he could see him.
“Seth! Great timing, I'm almost done with the finishing touches,” the tailor greeted him happily, excited to show off his work to the blacksmith. Seth greeted him back and followed him into the workshop, where Dowloon’s new garb was on display on the tailor dummy.
“Isn’t it great?” Boos boasted. Seth had to admit, although it looked like it was straight from a comic or manga, the tailor had really outdone himself. It looked good, exotic in a weird way, and the performance as an item was undeniable.

The other parts of the set mirrored the effects of the robe, except for the active skill. What skills they improved, like , also changed, but overall they were the same. The basic stats for defense were quite good for a relic-rated cloth item.
“Great work, Neeco. As expected of a master,” Seth praised him after seeing the new set. The blacksmith was sure that Dowloon would he satisfied with these options, especially since it was still missing the enchantment from Grant.
They talked for a moment about the options and work Neeco put in and what he planned for Grant to enchant them with, before Seth moved on to his secondary objective in coming here. Following the distribution of legendary items looted from Natina, the Arachne materials had been put under the control of Neeco boos, their resident tailor master.
So, apart from looking at the progress with Dowloon's set, he was also here to get the materials he promised Nädel.
“Neeco, there is actually something else I came here for. Please give me half a bale of the
and 2 spools of the thread. Nädel is making something for me, probably his master piece, and he needs them for it,” the blacksmith explained.
“Oh, Nädel is finally going to rank up? Great! Wait, here,” the tailor exclaimed, happy for his colleague, and placed a bale and three spools of thread on the table in front of Seth.
“He can keep whatever is left over, after all, he will be a master then, too,” he sai,d if he wasn't just in charge of keeping them.
