Bone Alchemist: Necromancer of The Aberrations-Chapter 52: Lotus Stillness pt.2
Chapter 52: Lotus Stillness pt.2
"What’s happening?" Cambela was startled. Her senses were dulling.
Her mind, sharp just a moment ago as it analyzed every detail of the girl’s ascension, suddenly became... sluggish.
She could no longer focus; it felt as if she were falling into a state of pure stillness, total absence of thought.
"?!"
But after a brief moment, she managed to break free from the sensation. After all, she was far stronger than Victoria. She was a genuine Rank EX. She couldn’t possibly be affected by the power of a newly ascended Rank S.
But if she had felt the shift, what about her master, Jeremy?
Turning her head toward his direction, she noticed the boy standing still, unmoving, his eyes vacant.
"Maste–"
Just as Cambela stepped closer to help him snap out of it, the atmosphere shifted back to normal. The energy began flowing again, and time seemed to resume.
A breath Jeremy didn’t realize he was holding escaped from his mouth.
"What the hell was that?!" He was shaken by the sensation he had just experienced. At first, there was an explosion of energy.
Then—nothing.
What he felt wasn’t unpleasant, quite the opposite. It had even felt... soothing.
A state of eternal calm.
Meanwhile, the cause of it all sat still in lotus position, breathing steadily with her eyes closed. She didn’t seem aware of anything.
This continued for about a minute before Victoria opened her eyes.
Her gaze landed directly on Jeremy first.
Victoria’s eyes were a bright amber, like her flowing hair.
Her stare, like her aura, didn’t waver in the slightest.
Jeremy was momentarily absorbed by it.
"Well then–" he said, shaking his head to regain focus. "Congratulations on your breakthrough."
"Yes, congratulations!" Cambela added, clapping her hands.
Victoria stood up from the ground and gave a small bow of thanks.
"It’s all thanks to you. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have reached this."
"You owe us one, remember that." Jeremy’s expression softened slightly... "I’ve been spending too much time around humans... is this the cure to my condition?" he thought, observing Victoria’s transformation.

Her skills were truly unique, making her a support in every sense of the word.
She had no equal against those at her level.
Of course, Jeremy had simply been caught off guard. He wouldn’t fall victim to such an attack a second time—after all, he was stronger than her.
As for her potential, Jeremy was particularly surprised. It was EXALTED—greater than Rose Redspine.
"There’s clearly more to this... wasn’t the headmistress considered a superpower? Why does she feel... so weak now?"
He had only been in the capital a few hours, yet it already felt like another world.
Before, the strongest beings were Rank S with APEX potential, but now there stood someone with BEYOND potential—and she didn’t seem all that special.
On top of that, she had reached Rank S at such a young age.
"To get the answers I’m looking for, we’ll just have to find out, I suppose."
With Victoria’s breakthrough a success and their mental states clearer and calmer than ever, the three of them left the room.
They reunited with Aliken, who looked at them without a word.
"He’s so strange like this... I want him to go back to how he was... so full of himself. Now he’s just an empty shell."
Cambela sighed. She had known him for a long time, after all. She knew what he was like.
After saying their goodbyes, they left the Velvet Lotus.
"Guys," Victoria’s voice interrupted everyone’s thoughts. "Do you have a place to stay? How about coming to my family estate?"
"Don’t refuse—I need to start repaying my debt somehow... after all, if I’m this powerful, it’s thanks to you..."
Jeremy and Cambela exchanged a glance, followed by a nod.
"Very well, we’ll accept. It’s getting dark, after all."
And so the three of them followed Victoria toward the Amabel estate.
They walked for several hours, not because the estate was far, but because Jeremy wanted to take his time observing the area.
What he saw wasn’t out of the ordinary.
There were many people—some were naturally awakened, others artificially—but all had one thing in common: none exceeded High Potential.
So the overall situation wasn’t that abnormal. Were strong families the only ones with access to something special?
As Jeremy pondered these questions, time passed quickly.
"We’re here." Victoria’s cheerful voice pulled Jeremy from his thoughts.
"I wonder what they’ll think of me," she added, rubbing a finger under her nose. "I’ve finally ascended. And I’m way stronger than usual. I’ll make Father proud."
At the mention of her father, Victoria’s expression turned serious.
Not because she feared him—far from it. She simply didn’t want to disappoint him. She had failed many times before finally succeeding.
"Lady Victoria, welcome back."
The two guards at the estate’s entrance bowed at a ninety-degree angle.
"I brought some... friends with me. I owe them a lot. Help me prepare rooms for them."
"As you wish." With a nod, the guard escorted Jeremy and company into the estate.
The place was enormous.
Aside from the massive central villa, there were numerous other buildings surrounding it. Some houses were huge, others smaller, but all shared one detail.
The Amabel family crest.
Every house was decorated with a flag bearing the symbol of a lion with a shimmering mane, representing, according to Victoria’s earlier explanation, power, wealth, and wisdom.
As they entered the main villa, a tall, imposing figure blocked their path.
Victoria’s expression turned serious for a moment, then softened upon hearing the man’s words.
"Victoria—you’ve managed to ascend. Good. I’m proud of you."
The man was none other than Victoria’s father. Despite being the current head of the family, he was a kind man who only wanted the best for his daughter.
Unfortunately, as family head, he couldn’t afford to give her too many resources and privileges. There were many young ones to raise.
He had already spent a fortune just to get her into the Velvet Lotus thirty times.
"These are your friends–"
Adam’s, Victoria’s father’s, gaze froze. At first, he hadn’t noticed at all, but now that he truly looked at the three of them, sweat began to drip down his forehead.
"Greetings. It is an honor to host esteemed guests like you. Please, forgive my rudeness."
Adam’s attitude toward them shifted. It wasn’t every day you met two Rank EX individuals.
But Adam wasn’t afraid—he was respectful.
Moreover, he hoped to win these experts to his side. After all, despite the peaceful appearance, something big was happening.
Every family wanted more power for themselves, to protect against future threats.
But there was one thing Adam didn’t know.
The girl who looked so human standing before him... was the very cause of all the chaos currently unraveling across the continent of Ydraquill.
"There’s no need for such formality." A mysterious smile appeared on Jeremy’s lips. "After all, we’re friends."
Adam was surprised. He hadn’t expected the Rank S boy to be the group’s leader. But he quickly composed himself.
"I haven’t seen you in the city before, nor do I recognize your faces. How should I address you?"
With everything going on, it wasn’t uncommon for powerful figures to take advantage of the chaos and claim even more power.
So he wasn’t shocked to see new Rank EX faces.
"My name is Jeremy. And these are—" he turned to look at the woman and the man. "Cambela and Aliken. We’re from the family–"
Jeremy paused for a moment as a familiar name resurfaced in his mind.
A name he had forgotten, but that came back to him thanks to the stillness of the Velvet Lotus.
"–Veydras."
