…
The spectators gaped.
They couldn't fathom what all this was, at least not entirely.
All except Aurolio had a vague idea about the power Skullius had been hiding. Only Elita had been in close proximity to Skullius when he had threatened to use it against Fulgardt back in Maqi, and again when she, him and the others had just incapacitated the Doom Knight.
'The War Body? The Second Phase?' she wondered. What was all this?
Why had the explosion of Amras just now faded as though it had never existed to begin with?
And also…
She frowned.
Where Nunax's power in terms of Standard Units had ballooned to over 51,000, Skullius'…
~~~
[ Skullius : 18,000 Standard Units ]
~~~
Why had Skullius' power decreased and by such a hefty amount?
Was it because for some reason, all his abilities were supposedly… stripped?
Even as these questions plagued Elita, her eyes searched for Skullius' figure among the bubbles when the surge of Amras died.
…!!!!
She, Kenno, Aurolio, Red Rage… and even Nunax, were struck dumb. Well, perhaps not completely.
"What in the actual fuck?!" Aurolio exclaimed.
Indeed, Skullius had grown weaker, but his figure seemed to refute the evidence. He didn't appear so. Not in the least.
Where the Hybrid Phantom Herald had stood before, now there was a being with features that heavily suggested that quite like Nunax, he had shed away all his flesh. But unlike Nunax's soul, which merely resembled her body to a tee, Future Skullius' soul held a sacred, supreme beauty to it.
Divinity was all about equating the body and soul by having them share properties, but it appeared the War Body didn't subscribe to such an idea.
Skullius' soul seemed even more ethereal and sophisticated. As though Divinity only made it more incomprehensible.
He no longer wore a nimbus jacket; his torso was bare. He didn't bulk up or decline in muscle mass, which might have been a shame, but his bare skin – cast in a sweet silver hue – was aglow, with lens flares that obscured the impeccable contours of his outline and muscles.
His hair remained modest and slicked back, but now, it might have been a tame white flame disturbing the peace of the space above it. His two eyes, just about the only thing that could be seen of his face because of the radiance of his skin, were deep pools of revolving darkness. They reflected nothing but an abyss.
His four arms were each embraced by bracers. Two of them held immaculate white designs to their steel, and the other two, beautiful black ones. The former were laced with vivacious throngs of jarring white lightning, Enlightened Ju`wtte, the latter, black, Benighted Ju`wtte.
Nunax, who had been celebrating the dwindling power of the Warmoth tensed. There was something about that surging, screaming black and white Ju`wtte that made her feel a dreadful sense of foreboding. Instinctively she knew, the merigold Ju`wtte was leagues more merciful than this kind.
She couldn't have known, but the current Skullius had combined the properties of his two Classes into one.
The War Body allowed him to access the compound Class, Sovereign of Refined Anarchy.
The powers of the Nullmancer and those of the Insurgent Magnus were wrapped into one, and harmonised by a body that employed aspects of the Null Devil King Caxellac, billions of units of Null EXP and the powers of the Warmoth!
As Enlightened and Benighted Ju`wtte flooded from his bracers, Future Skullius closed the deep pools of his sockets cosplaying as eyes and felt the ticking resounding in his body.
The countdown to his access of the Second Phase of the War Body was made clear, every count ringing through his Ju`wtta.
It also rang through the large spine that wrapped twice around his waist and fed into the small of his back. It had a precious, four-dimensional quality to it, shining in a strange, harmonious mix of gold, azure, silver and scarlet. Below, where Skullius' legs should have been, two chausses, seemingly made of the same material as the great spine could be seen, powerful and gleaming with qualities beyond universal norms. Ju`wtte also laced them.
This was Divine!
This was Divinity!
This was perfection!
Nunax's hastened her transformation to completion right then. Her body had ballooned in size. She was over sixty meters tall now, and the whipping lights around her took tangible form, turning her into something akin to a humanoid butterfly. Great purple wings whipped out of her back and in her long arms that gleamed with a strong pastel blue hue, she wielded a long spear that looked more like an illusion than anything else – vague and translucent.
She pulled back her arm and faced her immobile enemy.
She could sense it.
He enemy was weaker.
His Broader Existence had lost much of its power and his physical abilities had paled from what they were before. If she gave it her all in the spear throw, he wouldn't be able to dodge. Her spear could move a step faster than her lilac arrows from before.
Besides that, it was made from the light of a moon called Glad Sorrows. If it struck true, her enemy would be stripped of all their will to fight and would lag in their reaction to her follow-up attacks.
And indeed, she had a plethora of devastating follow-ups!
Thus, with great posture and strength, she used a bubble of light as a foothold and flung her spear with all her might.
The power she exerted in that shard of a moment caused her Fated Reef to collapse.
It was too great to withstand even for a domain that could survive in the great void.
But the spear still shuttled towards the War Body without being disrupted.
It was merciless.
It was uncompromising.
And indeed, the opponent wasn't capable of blocking or even seeing it in his current state; he had been weakened, after all.
But sadly for the Corrupted Deity Nunax, that did not mean he would lose.
