Chapter 26 -29: Stop Playing Mind Games with Me (10)
At the moment when Henry Maxwell’s lips almost touched hers, suddenly a cold, harsh high beam light shone directly at them, illuminating the two people sitting in the convertible.
The light, like a sharp knife, ruthlessly tore the shadows of the two people, as if to shred them into pieces – so fierce and chilling.
Immediately after, a sharp scream of speeding echoed, drilling into eardrums, throbbing painfully.
Isabel Smith and Henry Maxwell were stunned, not entirely knowing what was going on; why a car would go against traffic in the grand streets of Bellshire. The next second, the oncoming car directly crashed against Henry’s sports car, relentless and harsh.
The collision was solid; it showed no mercy.
That “Bang-” of the impact sound, tragically cut through the night sky, echoing with lingering waves, startling and alarming.
Though Henry’s car was stationary, it was pushed several meters backward before it started shaking and finally became steady.
The oncoming vehicle also halted alongside with the reaction force of the collision.
Inside the car, both Henry and Isabel’s heads were a bit dizzy from the impact. They soon lifted their heads to see the high beam light of the car was still shining brightly. The intense light hurt Isabel’s eyes. She lifted her hand to block the light. With the glaring white light in her eyes, she saw a man step out from the opposite car.
The high beam was too bright, turning the man’s figure into a silhouette.
Despite this, it was easy to make out his grace and glamour.
Isabel could not see his expression. She only saw him advancing smoothly, swiftly reaching her side of the car door.

Only at this moment did Henry completely come to his senses. He cursed under his breath and was about to reprimand the man outside for his recklessness, when the car door on Isabel’s side was forcefully yanked open from outside. Then, Isabel was abruptly pulled from his arms.
Isabel collided into the man’s chest and she distractedly lifted her head, only to see Percy Stanton’s sumptuously stunning face.
His lips were pressed tightly, his forehead hair slightly messy, he still looked as noble, elegant, and refined, but his whole body radiated an oppressive atmosphere that tolerated no resistance.
He was an entirely unfamiliar Percy.
It was as if heaven and earth, light and shadow, black and white, were reversed in this instant, by him.
The shocked Isabel almost forgot how to breathe, forgot how to speak. She only opened her mouth, her voice trembled slightly as she started to say: “You—”
Percy paid no heed to Isabel’s words. He firmly gripped her shoulder with one hand, pulled out a bank card from his pocket with the other, and threw it across at Henry. The card hit Henry’s face. His voice was icily calm, he said slowly, “This is the compensation for your car. As for this woman, I am taking her with me.”
Having said this, Percy glanced at Henry, whose face turned exceptionally pale. He forcefully held onto Isabel’s wrist and dragged her away.
Only when passing by Percy’s car did Isabel realize how serious the collision was.
Percy’s car was nothing fancy, just a regular economical car worth a little over 200,000. In comparison to Henry’s limited edition Porsche, its safety performance was far less. The front of the car was wrecked beyond recognition and the bright white high beam light that shone through the shattered lamp was glaring, making one’s heart panic and mind chaotic.
Only then did Isabel completely wake up from the sudden turn of events just now.
Yet her heart was still pounding quickly, sending her into a state of full-blown terror.
