Claimed By A Dragon Prince-Chapter 104: Joint Agreement
Chapter 104: Joint Agreement
"Wait here for me. I know he won’t hurt me." Lily needed to go in by herself, knowing how he could react. Dran nodded, watching her turn to go inside the cave. He wasn’t worried about what she would do, it was more what Dimitri would do in the wrong mood or temperament.
Lily went deeper into the cave seeing Dimitri towards the back still curled up. "Hey its me." He didn’t move at first when she walked up next to him running her hands over his scales. "I know this isn’t what we wanted or what we planned, but that doesn’t mean its all bad either."
He began to move, uncurling to look her in the eyes at her level. *It may seem easy for you to come to terms with this, but I still need time. Besides it doesn’t look like you need me anymore.* He was looking at the left side of her neck, Dran’s mating mark on display. "Did you think I was going to say no? Why? My mother told me that it was possible for gods to have more then one mate. Surely your mother said something to you?"
His mother had covered some of this but only briefly because it was extremely rare for gods to have to share a mate or having more then one mate. Finding out that he was one of the few that had to share a mate was shocking. Then to make it more complicated her other mate happened to be his twin brother.
He thought he only had to deal with a wolf prince with unreseolve issues, but no the fates wanted to throw him a curve ball. And she didn’t even give him the time to process it before letting his brother marked her. All this told him about her was that she made her own decisions by herself. All of which just upset him more thinking about how he was just another guy she fucked.
*I may have been told, but that doesn’t mean I would automatically adjust to it. Why didn’t you wait to talk with me?* Lily knew this would come up because she would be asking the same questions. "If I had asked you and we did the whole pro’s and con’s of the situation, wouldn’t you have left the decision with me, anyways?"
Dimitri didn’t want to admit it but she was right. He would have liked the chance to speak with his brother first, but as it was this is what he had. He shifted to his natural form as Lily materialized a robe for him. "Did you truly pick him? Or was this a rush of feelings and some slight chemistry?" He belted the robe waiting to hear her answer.
At first Lily was inclined to think it was just the chemistry, but as she seen his world and how he interacted with the people in it and she knew he was different. Then when ever he touched her, even inoccently, her body would react similar to how she reacted to Dimitri’s touch. Then when she stayed in her room the first night wishing she was in Dran’s, told her there was more going on then just chemistry.
"At first I thought that and just ignored the feelings thinking I wouldn’t be here long enough for them to take hold. But I was wrong. After seeing him interact with his people and watching how he defended and rescued everyone he could from the slugs before they were eaten or effected by the toxin coming from the slugs. Things I would see you doing. Being alike isn’t a bad thing if nothing else it just proves how much good the both of you can do together."
Dimitri didn’t want to think about what he and his twin could do considering HE was still looking to be crown prince of his Clan. HE wished his mother were there so he could ask her the questions plaguing his mind. Looking her over he could tell she was worried about him from the look on her face. Reaching up he up her cheek as she leaned into it happy he wasn’t turning her away.
"So what now? Are you going to fight him or talk to him?" Lily was concerned since Dimitri only fought when he felt it was necessary. Dimitri smirk at her having a few tricks up his sleeve. "First We both need to understand how this is going to work. I don’t want to be walking in on you guys, at least for now. Dran! Get in here!"
She was surprised he called for Dran since they were barely on speaking terms. Dran walked in seeing the two of them standing in the middle of the cave. He walked to Lily first Looking his brother over making sure he wasn’t about to be attacked. "You can’t blame me for my reaction. Like I was expecting this...."
Dran grabbed Lily’s hand looping it through his arm so she had something to squeeze when she was nervous. "No one was, but it happened. I for one don’t want to cause unnecessary grief to you or her. However, I myself have some reservations about this relationship, but they will have to be addressed in time. Since most will take time to have answered. Anyways we both agree our private time with her is just that. Sleeping will have to be in a group setting because neither of us want ot be way from her."
"Agreed and since we are talking about time scheduling may we should...." "Umm excuse me I am right here. Do I get a say in any of this?" Lily waved her hand curious if her opinion mattered to either of them. They looked down at her realizing they had yet to ask her anything. "What are your thoughts, my dear?" "What should we consider first, love?" They both heard the others question turning to stare down the other.
Lily was shaking her head thinking this would be a long process. "I think we need to get used to being around each other period. SO I propose that Dran come with us on our expedition. We will need the extra hands and Trinee will be joining us soon when we finally set up camp. Dran you know where the source is or at least the vicinity yes?"
Dran nodded remembering he had told her he knew of a place that no matter what nothing grew. "Yes I can take you guys there." Lily smiled glad that he was on board. Looking to Dimitri who stepped closer to Lily he answered softly. "That would be for the best. Neither of us knows this region well enough to get through it and we would have tried to find a guide or local native to help us navigate these mountains."
"Now we don’t have to with Dran showing us the way. I need to collect more samples as we get closer to see the progression of the toxin. With each area we check, each will need to be treated differently since the amount of toxin differs in each place. I already took samples from here, there in my pack." She patted her pack with was full just looking at it.
Dimitri turned to Dran facing him. "So where to? Is the place within traveling distance or will we need to retrieve Lily’s pack?" "It wouldn’t be a bad thing to grab her pack. I’ll need a few things too. Come on lets head back and gather what we need then we’ll leave tomorrow." They both nodded agreeing this was the best course of action.
"Do you need to ask for to take leave or have someone fill in for you while your gone?" Lily didn’t want cause any problems for him if leaving for a week or two. "No, don’t worry about that. I usually leave for a couple weeks to scout the borders since I’m one of the few that can fly." Lily sighed in relief glad he wouldn’t have to answer to a lot of people. "I just need to let the council know I’m leaving."
Lily remembered the last time she had to deal with this Council he spoke of. If they were gonna be like they were with her she wasn’t to inclined to let him go. Dimitri watched their interaction with interest wondering if this council would be worth dealing with. "Who’s the council?"
Lily smirked answering before Dran could. "They were the one’s who tried to convict me of crimes I was unaware were even crimes. I had been brought before them as a guest, not a prisoner." Dran scratched the back of his head knowing it was now a bad thing that they tried to interrogate Lily. Dimitri wasn’t to pleased hearing about these kind of accusations against Lily. And now they were about to face them in order for Dran to leave.
"Should I be worried?" Lily didn’t say anything hearing Dimitri’s question while Dran shrugged. "What’s to worry about?"
