Claimed By A Dragon Prince-Chapter 106: Moving Forward
Chapter 106: Moving Forward
Lily helped him lay her down on the cushions as she started to come back around after a minute. "Your telling me my son’s a god?" Lily nodded at the woman who just flopped down on the cushions looking shocked as ever. "Well that explains why you could change so young. Most dragons don’t go through their first change until 18 some times as late as 25. I’ve known a few dragons in my time." Maylia sat up looking at her adopted son with new found awareness.
"And you believe all this? How? What proof has she shown you that your a god?" She was still skeptical of what was being said since it took until now to be revealed. Dimitri stepped forward to confirm the truth. "Because I am his twin brother, and I know who both our parents are. Our father is the King of the Dragon Clan and our mother is a priestess/goddess of the dragons. She raised me outside the dragon castle until I was 12 and then our father had me taught and trained as a prince."
Thinking back on that time, that was also when his Uncle showed up. The Fates were playing a long game with the Dragon gods and the Wolf gods were intertwined in the whole thing. Watching how this had unfolded has shown him just how little control he has over his fate. So many people are effected by just one decision and it had left it’s mark etched in everyone it touches.
Dimitri watched as he face grew even more shocked as she was in the presence of royalty and celestial beings. "Anything else I should be made aware of?" Lily knelt down next to her meeting her at eye level. "I plan to eliminate the toxic slug problem, and heal the land of all the toxin. I don’t quite know how I’m going to do it, but I know I need his help. Something is telling me I will need him and its not the mate bond telling me that."
Maylia regarded this woman as she assessed what was just said to her. She hadn’t heard someone talk like that since she was a young cub herself. It was a wolf who wanted peace, but was killed and replaced with her younger sister. It would seem the Fates are now fighting back and they were choosing to trust a new generation of gods to do it.
Observing the little group in front of her, she could see why they might have been chosen, but they still had yet to come together. "Well if the Fates decided they need him who am I to say no? Go on, my son. As far as your mate is concerned I will reserve judgement, for now. I will have my eyes on you, be sure of that." Lily could see this woman having plenty of eyes everywhere telling her everything that is important enough to tell.
Lily stood bowing to her mother in law giving her the respect she deserved. "Thank you for hearing us out." Maylia nodded acknowledging her gesture. "Be careful if your going where I think your going. Its a dark place and only a few have survived coming back. What ever caused the toxin would be there. Dran, go the way I told you." Lily was curious if she had been there before.
Hearing her words Dimitri felt a bit better about Dran leading them to the toxin’s source. At least someone had been there and come back, but it didn’t sound like it was going to be easy getting there, even as a dragon. Walking out of her office the followed Dran to his rooms a few streets over.
Lily looked at the shops and restaurants wanting to browse, but knew this was a poor time to be looking. Dran looked back to see her admiring a dress in a shop window then catching up with them a block away from his apartments. "Did you want that? I looks to be about your size." Lily smiled looping her arm thorough his and Dimitri’s. "I like the dress, but I was just browsing. I never know what I want until I try it on. Maybe next time you can take me shopping. This one liked the last shopping trip we went on."
Dimitri smiled remembering just why they went shopping too. Outshining his brother was well worth the expense, and he rarely spent his own money. Seeing her have fun trying clothes gave him a sense of joy he didn’t know he could experience. All he wanted to do was give her the best of everything and let her decide if she wanted it or not. He wanted to take Lily out again and have that kind of fun with her once more.
"Yes, yes I did. Worth the expenses I incurred." Lily gasped as if he was accusing her of sending all his money. "Your the one who wanted me to buy that blue designer dress. I would have been happy with the green one we said was okay." He smiled knowing the color really didn’t work for her. "No the blue one was made for you. I shaped you very lovingly and I enjoyed taking it off you later that night."
Lily blushed seeing Dran smirk hearing his brother talk about soiling her, knowing just how beautiful she can be in blue dresses. "She does look good in blue." Lily’s ears were burning by the time they got to Dran’s rooms hearing the two of them talk like they were. "You guys are just...gaaah! Of course this is one of the things your two agree on. " They laughed hearing her little spew.
"Don’t worry, after this expedition we’ll get the chance to do more shopping in different cities. I would like to see a couple capital cities. The one in the Raven territory is supposed to have a lot of architecture. And I’ve heard the Feline Clan has a few galleries that sell some of their pieces for the right buyer." He had thought about this for some time and hoped Lily would want to go.
"I’ve been to the Raven territory and it is worth it. I’d love to go again. The Feline’s don’t like me for "certain reasons" I’d rather not talk about right now." She opened the door to his rooms as they walked in pulling her jacket off. Resuming her natural form Lily sat down in one of the chairs still wondering how this was going to work. "So I know we talked about our own separate times with me, but as far as sleeping is concerned you two are going to have to suck it up or I’m sleeping by myself, got it?"
They two brothers looked at each other waiting for the others objection. "No grabbing my ass in the night, brother." Dimitri smirked hearing Dran, knowing full well the only thing he was grabbing was his mate. "No wondering hands, brother. You might not come back with the whole hand." They laughed at each other knowing this wasn’t the best situation, but the smile on her face made it worth the struggle.
Lily started to unlace her boots thinking about the supplies she still needed to restock. "I need to find Bar before we leave. He will have a couple things i need to finish with some of the experiments I’d like to conduct. From what I was told we will be far enough away from people so I won’t have to worry about the blast radius or the smell." They looked at her like she grew a third head.
Lily looks up pulling her boots off pulling the tie on her corset. "Woman, how can you talk about blowing something up like its morning coffee talk?" She smiled letting the corset fall and pulling the bottom of the tunic she wore out of her pants. "You guys would be horrified then when Trinee and I get going about what we want to find out through experiments."
They both looked worried to know their mate was a little on the crazy side. "Remind me never to cross you. I worry if I’ll make it to the after life with your curiosity." Dimitri nodded having similar thoughts. "I knew she was crazy, but as to the level of deprivation she was willing to step into....."
"Ohm y god you guys that’s so wrong! I wouldn’t just desecrate a body for kicks or even science or discovery. I do have limits and boundaries thank you very much. Such faith guys. Thanks, love you too." She peeled her pants off dead tired wanting nothing more then to fall into the dark void of her subconscious mind, most call sleep. Crawling up on to his bed pulling back the covers to lay down, they did as she had, pulling off their robes to sleep. Dran pulled out some silk sleeping pants.
"Here, like I said no need to be grabbing my balls in the middle of the night." "You, either, brother."
