Claimed By A Dragon Prince-Chapter 25: Preparing for War
Chapter 25: Preparing for War
Waking up the next morning, Lily felt at peace for the first time in her life. She knew now that she had a place, and it was with her mate sleeping soundly next to her. Lily rolled over to look at the man who had claimed her heart and soul. She never thought she would be so lucky after her wolf never appeared.
Most have thought of her as worthless and trash to be discarded never realizing her mind was her best feature. Sweeping his hair away from his face and neck Lily could see the mark she left on him. A beautiful wolf that had the same colors as her hair lay curled up at the bottom of his neck and on his left shoulder.
The feel of the mark almost had her believing that it was a real wolf lying in wait keeping her prize safe. Dimitri’s chest rumbled when she touched the mark making her giggle as she traced the outline. "Woman, still haven’t had enough of me?" Dimitri grumbled opening his eyes to see the most beautiful sight he had ever seen.
"Never. I was just admiring the mark I left. After my wolf never appeared I always thought was was without those kinds of instincts. Good to know I was wrong." He reached up cupping her face wanting to take all the shadows away from her mind.
"A beast spirit doesn’t determine if you have worth. It’s more a bodyguard than anything. You have a strength most would kill for and a determination no one could ever fully understand unless they have suffered at the hands of others. You survived hell give yourself some credit." Lily knew she had worth, but until now she didn’t know what to do with it.
Dimitri could see his mark a deep blue dragon like his curled up on her shoulder, its head resting on her collarbone. "And now you have someone watching your back. I won’t ever let you suffer at the hands of those wolves. They did not deserve you." Hearing these words Lily could not contain her love leaning in and pouring it into the kiss she planted on his lips.
He felt her love through the bond never having someone who cared for him the way she did. "We now have to go and inform my parents or else they won’t stop with perspective candidates. Don’t worry I would have never let them choose my mate anyway. Lily nodded as they got out of bed.
Realizing she didn’t have much in the way of formal clothing she turned to him to ask if the other garments had been delivered. "Check the left side of my closet." Lily walked over to his closet pulling the doors open to see that the left side was covered top to bottom in women’s clothes. Her jaw hit the floor seeing all this thinking he had lost his mind spending this kind of coin on clothes.
"A few dresses and accessories would have been enough. Don’t you think this is a little too much? I doubt I will wear all of this at least once." Dimitri walked in behind her setting his chin on her shoulder and wrapping his arms around her waist. "Don’t worry if there are things here you don’t like donate them or have Trinee up here to pick a few things."
Dimitri kissed her cheek and then let her go to dress himself. Lily chose a dress that was deep blue like his dragon with silver embroidery along the seams. The dress was off-shoulder style leaving her mark open for everyone to see. Finding a pair of silver slip-on flats Lily still had no idea what she would do with her hair.
A knock at his bedroom door signaled that the servants were bringing in breakfast. Another girl that she hadn’t seen before was there with a basket full of hair and makeup items. "I figured you didn’t do your hair much since its usually down or in a braid. Trinee recommended her."
Lily nodded to the girl who curtsied for her. "Hello, Your highness’s. I am Nina and I have come to help you dress, my lady." Lily was glad for help and hoped she was as trust worthy as the people who recommended her. "Do you think you can tame this mane? Its a lot."
Nina could see this would be a task, but she would make this woman look like a proper princess before she was done. "I can do it! Just tell me what you would like, if you have a preference." Nina and Lily moved to the vanity Dimitri had brought in so they could take care of Lily’s needs.
"My second needs to speak with me. Nina please lead her to my office once you have finished." Dimitri told them leaning down kissing her lips lovingly. Lily was still becoming used to this kind of affection especially in front of others. The girls oohed and awed at their display of affection with each other.
Once he left snagging a piece of toast from the breakfast tray the servants got to work making her look like the princess she now was. Pinning her hair to the right side making sure her mating mark was in full view to everyone they added beautiful earrings and light makeup as her complexion was flawless.
A small tiara was added that had sapphire blue gems and crystals emphasizing her her eyes and hair. Lily spoke with the servants glad that not everyone in this castle wasn’t hating on her. "Oh my lady you look so gorgeous! You will definitely make all the lady’s of the court jealous with just your beauty."
"Thank you girls. I really appreciate your help. I would have been a mess if not for you." The lady’s bowed thanking her for the compliment. Lily stood up admiring her appearance in the large mirror then nodded to Nina to show her the way to Dimitri’s office.
