Chapter 38: I Give You A Princess

Lily didn’t know whether to tell this crazy dragon to beat it or go along with what she’d asked. Choosing the path of least resistance she allows the servants to measure her. A few gasped from the tattoos on her body and the mating mark on her neck and shoulder. "A Princess is to have flawless skin we will have to have that tattoo removed." Pointing to the one on my right rib-cage.

Lily pretended like she didn’t hear the woman merely letting the servants dress her in some elaborate gown the queen had picked out. One servant had her sit in a chair while she started working on her hair. "We may need to trim a bit off the bottom to help even out these layers." The dragon queen kept making suggestions that Lily didn’t approve of at all, and when one servant came at her with a pair of scissors, Lily jumped up out of her seat.

"Look I appreciate that you want to make me into the perfect princess, but unless you’re going to be reasonable and hear my thoughts about all this, I suggest you leave." Standing in the dress again Lily was reminded just how heavy it was and hard to move around in.

The queen walks over to her and slaps her on the cheek. "You will do as you’re told! This is precisely why the king and I wanted to choose his mate. We don’t need a free thinker! We need someone who can follow tradition and court etiquette! Someone with grace and poise, not a wild child running around in the forest." Lily knew she couldn’t hit he queen, but she didn’t have to if she wanted to get her point across.

Grabbing the scissors from the servant Lily pulled on the bodice seeing some of the threads give and cuts down the seam to get the damn thing off. "What do you think you are doing?!" The queen shouts at her as she continues to cut off the dress. "I don’t need your help to be the things your asking. You could have just set a message and like I said if you had been reasonable I would have followed them, but now you get to see my way."

Grabbing Nina and Mia hands they walk into the closet shutting the door. Lily quickly wrote down a message for her prince, knowing just how to handle this. "I need you to go get my prince. If he is with the king please bring him too. I’ve had enough of this crazy queen. Nina, you and I will get to work on my attire for the day. Nothing like that monstrosity of a dress she tried to make me wear, oh help me get the rest of this off."

Mia quickly left the room, pass the sitting area where the queens people were setting up for tea waiting on her princess. Lily and Nina got to work taking the dress off a sigh of relief came from Lily as it fell to the floor with a thump. "I think that woman was trying to kill me with clothes." Nina’s eyes bulged a bit before shaking her head at her mistress. frёewebnoѵēl.com

Lily walked the closet looking at the dress already there a few new ones she hadn’t seen before. *He must have bought them when I wasn’t looking.* Lily thought to herself choosing a mermaid style green dress that looked like vines were crawling all over with green gems sparkling everywhere.

"Can you do my hair like the moon goddess’s?" Lily hoped Nina had read about the other Clan’s gods having requested something out of style. Nina smiled knowing just what she meant having her mistress sit at the vanity mirror. Getting to work she noticed that her mistress has similar features to the goddess which made doing her hair that much easier.

Moving Lily’s hair to right side Nina twists and rolls the sides framing her face securing it just under her ear with a beautiful green jewel clip. "One moment, my lady." She makes her way back into the princes room seeing the flowers she wanted to use on the balcony. Grabbing a few Nina goes back to her mistress clipping the stems short with her nails and arranging the flowers in her hair. Lily slips on a pair of dark brown leather sandals that wouldn’t kill her feet, but also matched her look.

Lily only added rouge to her lips needing no other makeup as she looks at herself in the mirror. *I never thought a day like this would come. Mother guide me, show me the way.* At that moment she felt her mother’s love in her heart giving her the confidence she needed to face the Dragon Queen.

Nina opens the doors as her mistress walks out with a certain elegance Nina didn’t know her mistress had. Approaching the queen and her entourage s few gasped in surprise as the queen assess her look. Standing up the queen walks around Lily inspecting her appearance and posture. "Your all dismissed. Come, my dear we have much to speak about."

All of the queens servants and entourage left the room, leaving Nina to serve them. "Sit." The queen instructed Lily to sit across from her. "Now I know we got off on the wrong foot, but I would like to have on a more cordial relationship with you now that your are apart of the family." This threw Lily off a bit since the queen has her own agenda and Lily didn’t fit into it.

Wanting to see what she really wants Lily nodded sipping her tea. "I would like that as well. There’s no reason we should be at odds with each other if our goal is the same." The queen had a smirk on her face that Lily wasn’t at all sure about. "And how do you know my goals are the same as yours? Girl, my tea has gone cold. Go and have more made for us."

The servant reluctantly left the room worries for her mistress. "Aren’t they? You want the Dragon Clan to be seen as the most prestigious and prosperous of all the Clan’s. I know of a few Clans that are at constant odds with....." Lily’s words trailed off as her head started to fog over. "Yes, and I refuse to let any of them be associated with my Clan." Was the last thing Lily heard before she passed out.
