Claimed By A Dragon Prince-Chapter 49: Weapon of the Gods
Chapter 49: Weapon of the Gods
Lily stood when she seen her mother standing at the entrance to the hall. "I did. I hope you don’t mind. I was curious." Her mother smiled at her walking very to the podium with the other sword. "This place holds weapons from generations of goddesses. Each choosing its next master at the time of which they need them. It would seem you found one that called to you."
The Goddess handed her the other sword as she suddenly felt a surge of energy as the blades shot out ribbons of light that wrapped around her arms then the swords disappeared before she could let go. "What.....How? Is this going to be a regular thing, receiving mysterious gifts and all?" Lily looked at her arms at the light receded and two swords were present on her skin from elbow to wrist. They shined in the light as if they could still cut.
"Of course, every god or goddess goes through trials from the creator. Each teaching us more then we first believe. I have seen the work you did with the Dragon Moss and the darkling dragons. These are your first trials of the creator. Don’t over look anything." Lily listened to her wondering what she wasn’t seeing.
"I’ll be sure to keep an open mind. Do you know what started the toxic slug?" The Goddess’s face fell hearing this question as she only had speculations. "I wish I knew. I don’t always see everything that happens. I catch glimpses of the present and future. Come." Lily followed her down another hallway leading to an open area. She could hear water as they approached a still pond covered in Lumus Flowers.
Lily gasped seeing this since she missed the last blooming. They’re brilliance was dazzling as she stopped to look at one of the blooms. It sparkled like shining stars around the flower the energy coming from the bloom cascading over her skin. Her skin absorbed the light making her spirit feel lighter as she stood back up walking over to the pool her mother stood next to.
Her soul felt the effects of the flower as each step felt like a weight of power was washing over her. Stepping to the edge of the pool Lily knelt down to look at the surface her hand touching the water causing ripples. The imaged changed to one of her and Dimitri dancing at the Ball last night and than shifted to a more graphic scene. Showing her in a battle with some creatures in a forest than to a cave she had never seen before. And finally the pool changed to a scene she didn’t think to see.
A young man was standing next to her mother someone who almost looked familiar to her. He held his mate as he looked down in to her arms as a baby came on to view her hair like Lily’s. Her mother held her shoulder as she watched until the end the image fading out. "Who is my father?"
Lily had a guess, but she wanted to be sure. The Goddess smiled knowing her daughter already knew the answer. She was just like her father that way very smart and very guarded about his heart. The blue streaks in her hair were from him as his dragon was the same blue. "You already know the answer don’t you? He’s been there even when you thought you were alone."
"Why wouldn’t he tell me?" Her mother shrugged having no other way to answer. "A Child of the gods always knows their parent. You knew me even when you doubted it. You should go see him and tell him you know. I’m sure he has things he needs to explain as well." Standing to embrace her mother Lily went back the way she came ready to give her father a piece of her mind.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Lily woke to her mate lightly snoring in her ear and the sun barely shining through the windows. She had a lot to say to her father and an ass whoopin’ from hell at leaving her with those wolves. For once she was able to slide out of bed without disturbing her mate silently gliding to the closet putting a set of pants and tunic on similar to what she already worn then a corset already set for her size.
Pulling the laces tight on the corset she leans down and grabs her boots moving to the door unlocking it quietly. Shutting and locking the door she puts her boots on heading down the corridor. going down two level of stairs she makes her way to the third door on the left knocking quietly.
It took a moment for someone to answer the door and a butler opened it. "May I help you, Princess?" Standing tall Lily had waited a long time to confront this situation. "Yes, Is your master in?" "Yes, he is taking his tea after awakening. He also said he should be expecting a visitor. Right this way please." She followed the butler in as he closed the door behind her.
Showing her to one of the drawing rooms just down the hall she could see his feet past a chair he was sitting in. Moving around to face him the butler bowed after she took her seat. "Your guest, sir." "Thank you, Mills. Bring in a fresh pot of water as well as coco, cream, and sugar please." Mill’s nodded leaving them.
Lily looked at the man she had known all along was someone special to her. She just didn’t know how special until her mother helped her find the answers. Looking at him now she was surprised that he was her father. Of all the people she could have guessed to be her father Prof. Magnus wasn’t at the top of her list. "You have a lot of explaining to do.....Father."
The shocked look on his face said everything as he sat straight up. "You.....you....you know who I am?" She nodded tears streaming down her face as he leapt forward taking his daughter in his arms like he had wanted to ever since he found her all those years ago.
