Claimed By A Dragon Prince-Chapter 84: Toxic Invasion
Chapter 84: Toxic Invasion
Lily felt the breast plate begin to disappear followed by a searing pain above her left breast where a tattoo of the armor sat ready to be summoned. "You could have warned me about that." Her mother laughed softly as Lily looked at the new addition to her skin. "God’s only give things to the one’s they love or for a price. Don’t let go of any god made weapons or armor. They were meant for you so they must stay with you. That is how you protect bad beings from using what is rightfully yours. Remember that, my dear. Remember."
Lily’s conscious was being pulled back to her body as someone shook her awake. "Princess. Come. Please. There is trouble." It was a different servant from the one she had before. A man she hadn’t seen before and didn’t trust his words, but the noise outside might indicate otherwise. "What’s happening?"
The servant looked outside the door checking to make sure the coast was clear. Someone came u behind him and stabbed his neck than tried to come after her. Lily had her dagger, but could also summon her swords if needed. The creature charging at her looked hungry and vicious, but was like the toxic slug that tried to attack her before. It tried to bite at her but she pushed it back just as someone else pulls the the thing off her.
Shadow Twin was at her door breathing hard looking around for her. "Hurry! We don’t have time. The Slug has made its way here!" Lily felt her heart drop hearing this because with all the energy she pulled to herself she made this place target. She could feel that her energy wasn’t all the way back, but couldn’t just do nothing. "Don’t even think about it. If you try to destroy all that it could kill you! Don’t waste your life that way. Most will survive the Slug. The ones that don’t consider it a mercy."
Lily was horrified to hear this, wanting nothing more then to get rid of the slug that was killing innocent people. Its toxicity was causing people to drop like flies before they could even run away from it. "Don’t! My brother will do more harm to my people if you die. Please just get out of here!" She knew he was right. Dimitri would burn down the world for harming her.
Trying to think of something she could do that wouldn’t necessarily kill her, Lily came up with a bizarre, but hopefully purifying solution. Smelling for the closest air pocket Lily leapt to the ceiling the up the shaft, to the top where she caught her breath looking outside. It was a shit show of peopling fighting and slugs trying to over take each person. The smell was causing her to gag, but she wrapped a cloth over her mouth before pushing the the vent cover off.
Climbing out she went to one of the open areas on the mountain top the wind whipping at her face. They had come right to her as the mountain sides were covered in toxic slugs. *This is my fault. I did this.* Lily wanted to drop to her knees watching the plague that was about to over take these people.
*Lily, you can fix this. Remember who you are.* Her mothers voice echoed in her mind as she looked to the sky the moon full and bright as she reached for the wolf in her needing to feel the purifying light of the moon. She felt her body change as she got down on all fours feeling fur cover her body and her jaw lengthen and eyes sharpen with the shift.
With her wild fur color she looked like a shadow of the night as her eyes glowed bright blue at the slugs below. Howling out to the moon she felt the moons rays begin to intensify as she build up the energy to purify the toxic slugs. Breathingin deep Lily releases the pruifying power of the moon goddess. "Purifying Moon Beams!"
Moon rays shot out of her mouth bathing the slugs in white hot light incinerating them upon contact with the beams. Many screeched the died out as the people ran for cover away from the creatures. Lily ran to one of the cave opening, running down the corridor until she reached the open under ground area. "Get down, everyone!"
Most of the citizens ducked and covered as Lily released another stream of moons rays over the underground city. Jumping into large groups releasing multiple moon beams she made sure these things wouldn’t come back. Landing near the open square of the city Lily was running out of energy to spare. Looking up as she dropped to the ground she could see one last slug trying to go after a little boy and his sister.
*Just one more.* She didn’t quite have the energy to release the moon beam when she felt her mother give her a hand. The energy in her heart for that brief moment was enough to summon one last moon beam. Aiming for the slug she released blowing the slug to bits. The children were terrified, but moved away from the mass.
They cautiously walked over to her see how beat up she was. The little girl seen some of the toxin on her fur wanting to wipe it away. Lily moved shaking her head then touching her nose to the girls forehead. *No, little one, don’t touch it. I’ll be fine. It could make you sick.* The girls eyes looked up in shock as she nods stepping back. The little boy steps up hugging his sister. "Hey what did you do to her?"
Lily leaned her nose against his forehead communicating with him too. *She wanted to wipe the toxin off my fur, but it can make her sick so I stopped her.* The boy looked shock that she would speak with him. "Thank you, my Lady." They kids bowed running off to hide again. Lily didn’t sense anymore of the slugs, but that didn’t mean they weren’t close by.
Shadow Twin came over to her looking a bit disappointed with her. "If you die then my people die. Stop trying to fix everything. Change back. NOW." She could tell he was about to lose his last nerve with her. Reaching for her natural form Lily slowly changed back having a few dark spots and her foot was dislocated and slowly healing up. "I need to set this before it heals back that way. If my brother was here would you have done what you just did?"
Lily had three seconds to think about it before he pulled her foot the slid it back into place with a loud popping sound. "Fuck you!" He laughed not expecting that answer. "You aren’t like the other princess’s that were sent to him are you?" Lily laughed hearing this question. He had no real idea who she was or just didn’t believe in rumors and lies, which told her much about his way of thinking.
"Jokes on you buddy. I’m not technically a princess. I was a Ward of the Wolf Clan then i left when i became an adult and told that clan to fuck themselves. I decided to go to the Dragon Academy because they produce the best masters in their respective fields and I wanted that. All of which I had no help from anyone and no money of my own to pay for any of my education. The family I came from treated me less than a servant and reminded me of it often. Don’t presume to know who I am without asking the basic questions first. Now If you’ll excu....." Lily went to trying to stand up and immediately fell. Shadow twin caught her again, seeing that she was having a hard time staying conscious.
"My brother has his hands full with you. All that power and still so much more the unravel." He picked her up bridal style, taking her to his room, which hadn’t been destroyed. She tried to wake up, but he could sense her energy slowly trying to regenerate as she slept. One of the Elders came up to him, seeing her in his arms. "Dragon Master, what are we to do? Most of our supplies have been burned or destroyed and food supplies have been contaminated. We wont have enough food to survive."
He looked down at the woman in his arms thinking there might be a way to salvage the situation. "I will handle it, thank you." The Elder watch as the young master took the woman that caused the problem then tried to fix it. Shadow Twin walked to a hidden door then pushed of the bottom corner to get the door to release. Walking in then pushing the door closed with his back he walks over to his bed setting her down. Moving her hair away from her face, he saw the scars that littered her neck and chest that he hadn’t noticed before.
"Hell is a dangerous place, even for a lost girl."
