Claimed By A Dragon Prince-Chapter 90: Fruits of Her Labor
Chapter 90: Fruits of Her Labor
Apparently Bar was part of the Dragon Clan relief that was sent to the northern Wolf territory to help the village she and Prince Dimitri aided a week back. He decided to go further having heard about other settlements underground near the forbidden territory. He just didn’t think the people here would be those effected by the toxic slugs.
Seeing the young woman his niece brought to his store was a shock to be sure, but the fact that she was with the Dragon Master he met upon his arrival, seemed even stranger. From the way they were looking and standing next to each other there was something more going on. Not wanting to pry he made joke about him being the "right one" when they both looked away from each other. *Must have stepped on a sore subject.*
Dran was about to ask the man how he knew Lily when she chimed in with a curious question. "Did Trinee come with you or does she even know your here?" The man scratched his head trying to be all sheepish with her. "If I told her I was coming this far north she never would have let me leave and Mar would have stopped me as well." Lily gave him a pointed look like your in big trouble.
Dran watched their interaction with some amusement since the conversation was very witty and serious at the same time. He never had family per say just those he found and brought back to the settlement. Less then a hand full ever checked on him and most respected that he had many people to bring in. Lily was an easy person to be around always trying to include everyone.
"How did you get here faster then Prince Dimitri? Dran??" Lily looked over at him as he carried a very stoic aura around him. "Dran, why is it taking Dimitri so long to get here?" He didn’t want to answer this since she wouldn’t get his rage at being tossed aside by his family. He made sure it was a path Dimitri would survive, but he knew it wouldn’t be easy to get to the main cave he brought her in when they arrived.
"He’s a strong dragon with the barriers down I figured he would take a couple days to get here not a whole week. From what my scouts have told me he should be here in the next day if he gets past the guards at the entrance. At that moment a huge boom resounded through the underground settlement startling everyone out of their homes to see what was happening.
The front entrance was knocked down by none other than Dimitri in his dragon form pulling down a wall and door that took more time to build then it did for him to tear it down. Lily could see how this was going to get bad fast so she called out to him relying to stop his assault.
"Dimitri! Stop please! I am here. Its really me!" She yelled up at him trying to get him to stop destroying the place. He turned his head having heard her in his head and in his ear too. She was standing on a building waving her hands at him. "Please Stop!" Dimitri halted when he heard her scream. Seeing her in a flowy dress and panting from running Dmitri moves to shift back to normal.
Once in his natural form she runs up to him hugging him tightly. "I’m here, I’m okay. What happened to you?" He held her tight taking in her scent thanking the gods that she was alive and unharmed. Looking over at his supposed brother he could see that this was a hiccup in his plans. "You got me here. Now what was so important that I had to fight my way to get here,Brother?"
Dran could see that Dimitri wasn’t going to let go of Lily so he could show her what her power did for his people. "It was more that we needed her then you. If nothing else you could go back to the Dragon Clan and let them know what has been happening to the land here." Dimitri could tell there was more he wanted to say, but kept it to himself. "He’s right. Just two days ago I stopped a toxic slug attack that almost took out this whole settlement. If I hadn’t been here to push the toxin from the soil then things here could have been much worse. I know this isn’t the place you wanted me using my powers, but they needed my help too."
Dimitri knew she had a big heart for the those who less fortunate and always tried to give a helping hand if she could. However with her being kidnapped he thought her mind would be in a different mind set. From what he could tell she had no malice towards his Twin or the people here.
"If what you did helped out the people here I have nothing to say about it. I know how you are and trust you to make the right choices. You didn’t deplete your energy did you?" He knew she did at least once, but from looking at her there seemed to be more going on. She felt like she was unsteady on her feet and swayed a bit when she stood by herself. This worried him because she tended not to pay attention to the damage done to herself.
"I did twice, but had some of my rapid energy restoring pills to help me along. I did stopped with those before I went to far. I was asleep for the last two days until just a but ago when he woke me up." She pointed to Dran whole kept his stoic look very similar to Dimitri’s when he doesn’t want people to read him. They both seemed to be sizing the other up which had Lily trying not to laugh at them.
"Umm Dran was about to show me something important so if you would put this robe on and come with us, maybe you could not be so ridged about the situation." Lily knew she had a lot to tell him, but word-vomitting all she went through in the last week to him wasn’t going to help him understand her actions any better then she did. "Yes, we were just on our way to the food storage area where we keep the food that she grew just yesterday."
Dimitri was curious just how much she produce this time compared to the small farm she grew above ground. "Let’s go see it than." Dran lead the way While Lily held his arm walking with him. "Were you hurt when he brought you here? Did they treat you fairly?" She didn’t look beaten or neglected, but that doesn’t mean the healing pills she took didn’t heal the signs before he got there.
"I have been treated just fine since I was brought here. I was more like you and wanted to jump that cliff, but my energy was so low that I didn’t want to risk it. But since I have been here everyone has been nice and cordial to me. I even found a Dragon Clan citizen I didn’t think to see here." This peek his interest since this place was such a well kept secret.
"Who was it?" "It was Bar, Trinee’s uncle who runs the little shop downtown Dragon City. Said he was part of the Dragon Clan relief sent by your father, he just decided to go further having heard rumors of this place." Dimitri was surprised the old dragon would take such a risk with a family at home depending on him. "Why did he come this far? Did you by chance see his papers?"
She wanted to slap him about regulations that didn’t mater this far out. "That was the last thing I was looking for. But he was empty or so his cart was when I ran into him. What ever he was trading he already concluded his business." The old dragon was known for acquiring strange and rare items for those looking for it at the right price. While not a bad dragon Bar Le Terra was no one to cross when it came to his goods.
Thinking about what she said it did seem a bit odd that this was his first business dealing here. "That is all well and good, but my concern it what we’re about to see behind these doors." Looking up she had been very absorbed in what he was saying that they had arrived at the storage buildings. Dran opened the door showing them just how much food Lily had produced on the hillside farm. The sight before them had them speechless.
"This is what I produced?! No way!" Lily’s mind was just blown about just how full this building was with her home grown food with rows and rows piled high almost to the ceiling. Dimitri was just as shocked because he knew how big the last farm she grew was, and could only imagine the actual size of the plot just harvested.
