Cyber Era Witch-Chapter 55 - 40 Blockade
55: Chapter 40 Blockade
55 -40 Blockade
The burly security guard clenched his fist, his posture steady.
“He has a gun,” Xu Yang cautioned her.
Asa Katsuragi nodded and closed in, contemplating tactics.
The opponent was much heavier than her; the disparity in weight class largely determined the outcome of a fight, and even a superbly skilled lightweight would struggle against a heavy-hitting heavyweight fighter.
To win, the key lay in experience, courage, and precision.
She couldn’t afford to waste any opportunity to strike.
After closing in, Asa Katsuragi threw a probing punch, which the burly man unexpectedly dodged with ease.
However, Katsuragi’s punches were fast; she delivered three rapid attacks like the sting of a Huang Feng, forcing him to keep dodging without a chance to hit back.
“What are you dodging for!
Hit her!” the man in sunglasses ordered.
The burly man knew how to counter, he lunged forward, enveloping Katsuragi like a shadow.
Katsuragi quickly counterattacked, and this time her attack was too fast and too close for him to avoid.
But, this was all within the burly man’s expectations.
He planned to take the hit with his hardened skin, then use the moment her strength was spent and she was vulnerably between moves to overwhelm her.
This woman was as ferocious as a leopard, her endurance would be her weakness, and his protective implant had cost him a full 20,000.
——However!
Asa Katsuragi’s punch struck the burly man directly in the ribs, targeting the spleen with a heavy blow.
The force tore through the alloy-reinforced skin and straight into his organs, causing him to stagger back two steps and grunt in pain, his face twisting in agony.
She wouldn’t miss the opportunity, taking advantage of his opening to launch a kick.
A direct strike between the legs, shattering his testicles.
The burly man let out an inhuman scream.
His adrenaline implant kicked in, instantly blocking his sense of pain and doubling his courage, his strength surging forth endlessly.
He immediately reached for his abdomen to draw his gun.
Asa Katsuragi knew the burly man had entered an unstoppable state and didn’t go head to head; instead, she swiftly circled to his rear.
Behind him?
The burly man frantically turned to find her, drawing his gun to aim at Katsuragi.
She was ready; her movement wasn’t to dodge, but to find the angle to strike.
She reached out with both hands, seizing the joint of the burly man’s gun-holding right arm and twisting it forcefully in the opposite direction.
Flashes of gunfire erupted as bullets flew into the open air.
“Wait——wait——” the burly man’s right arm was now broken, twisted into a horrific shape, exceeding the physiological limits of humans, making onlookers’ arms ache in sympathy.
Asa Katsuragi kicked the burly man forcefully, taking him down. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
He fell on his back, his head hitting the ground, eyes wide open, the pistol dropping nearby.
She picked up the gun, aiming it at the burly man’s head.
Everyone was stunned.
“That’s enough, Katsuragi,” Xu Yang called her back.
Asa Katsuragi nodded, holstered the gun, and stood up, returning to Xu Yang’s side.
The burly man lay on the ground, eyes wide, breathing faintly, his chest barely rising and falling.
People’s gazes focused on Xu Yang, quite astonished.
“This guy…”
“Isn’t scared at all.”
“His subordinate…”
“Who is he?” the crowd was invigorated.
The man in sunglasses watched in silence as the burly man was taken down, looking up at Xu Yang with growing anger.
“See you,” Xu Yang prepared to leave.
“I’ll kill you!” the man in sunglasses pressed his forehead, using his own neuro-chip to take control of the “Fighting Crab” drone, preparing to shoot at Xu Yang and the others.
However, under Xu Yang’s control, the “Fighting Crab” drone began to hover erratically in place, as if completely out of control.
“Damn it!” the Synthetic Human security guard swiftly drew his knife, aiming at Xu Yang, “What have you done!”
“I don’t know,” Xu Yang shook his head, “Maybe his drone went haywire.”
Seeing the man in sunglasses had lost the control of the burly security guard and the drone, shouts of discontent erupted from the crowd.
“Give me back my girlfriend!” a man in a gray hoodie surged forward.
“A40!
Cut him down!” the man in sunglasses panicked, hastily ordering the nearby Synthetic Human to act.
“I don’t cut civilians,” the Synthetic Human said seriously.
“Then cut him down!” the man in sunglasses pointed at Xu Yang, “Go!
Avenge me!”
“I love fighting!” The Synthetic Human known as A40 nodded.
A40 observed Xu Yang, his eye-tubes changing from an initial white to red, and then he charged at Xu Yang with a knife.
Is he really just coming straight at me?
Does this guy have no brains?
Xu Yang stood still.
Lila leaned out from the Shuttle Machine, gun in hand, and fired three precise shots at A40’s head.
The bullets flew towards his skull but were stopped just centimeters away by an invisible energy Shield, deflecting them.
This guy also has an energy shield field, not that it’s common; the technology is quite unstable and rarely applied.
“A40!
Keep charging!” the man in sunglasses shouted.
The lights in A40’s eyes changed from red to black; his shield battery was depleted, and if he moved any closer, Lila would shoot him dead.
“Can’t win, must protect myself,” he stated.
“What the fuck kind of bodyguard are you!” the man in sunglasses cursed, “I’m going to report you!
You’re supposed to protect me!”
As the drone spun out of control and the burly man laid defeated, A40 stood at a distance, the bystanders immediately surged forward, some reaching for the unmanned drone, others breaking into his deluxe Shuttle Machine to hack it, and still others stripping the man in sunglasses of his clothing to take his cash cards.
“Help——help!” the man in sunglasses was grabbed by several hands, a torrent of punches and kicks rained down on him, making him cry out, “Let me go!
I was wrong——ah——”
The women with electronic collars hastily kneeled and attempted to pry the collars off their necks, but it was impossible to break them by hand.
Xu Yang remotely accessed the collars’ controls, unlocking them one by one, dropping them to the ground, enabling their wearers to free themselves.
They looked down at the battered man in sunglasses with complex expressions.
