Death Mage with an SS-Rank Talent-Chapter 110
Chapter 110: Chapter 110
After collecting the rewards, Aaron first went to say bye to Zara, and after a few minutes of chit-chat, he left intending to go to the library, but some arrogant students blocked his path.
"Oye, are you Aaron Skyhart?" one of those arrogant students asked him.
"Sigh", Aaron sighed. He wanted to avoid these types of situations, but from the looks of it, he would be dragged into the quagmire. There was no escape. Who told him to reach the top rank?
He has no other choice. He needed to show the academy his power, though not everything, but most of it, so that they would tilt the resources towards him, and they did in the form of rewards for reaching the top.
His family can’t afford much of anything, even with their improved lives right now. They were small-time cook assistants before he ranked top. Now, they have become proper cooks, but it was just a few weeks ago.
In the few weeks, it was impossible for them to earn anything. It would take years, but even then, whatever they earn might not be enough to support him. Also, it was said that the first few years after awakening are the best years to level up faster.
Many wouldn’t level up as they grow old, possibly because they would lose the hot blood of their youth. A few would continue to have such conditions, but not many. Most would settle for a stable life later on in their lives.
Whatever he could achieve would be in his youth. He can’t wait for his parents to earn slowly. Moreover, that would be theirs, not his. They, too, would need the resources to grow themselves. So, he can’t take those resources from his parents. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
So, he has to earn for himself, which could only be achieved if he shows his talent in the academy, and that means he would make a few enemies who would feel that the top position was theirs and the rewards should have been theirs.
Something like this was inevitable, but Aaron couldn’t think of wasting his time on these petty squabbles, which could escalate easily. He wanted to avoid them so that he could use the time on things that could be useful in improving himself.
Though he tried to do that, trouble still found him in the end.

"Yes, and who are you?" Aaron asked in a somewhat shivering tone.
"I am Harry Volkel", the arrogant one answered happily, seeing that Aaron was afraid of him.
Harry has a huge physique when compared to others. Warrior professionals usually have huge physiques, but Harry was larger than others at his rank. He was larger even before he awakened his profession. It was as if he had a special physique.
Due to his huge physique, everyone was terrified of him. So, seeing Aaron shiver a little brought joy to him, as normally, awakeners wouldn’t care if others had a huge physique or not, and because of that, the power he held in school against the weak students disappeared.
Now, seeing others shivering due to his physique brought immense joy to him, but he made to control his joy and not show on his face, as that could destroy his image as a powerful awakener.
"What do you want with me?" Aaron asked, still in a somewhat shivering voice.
"I know that you cheated in the tournament. The rewards shouldn’t be yours. Hand them over and you can leave this place easily", Harry ordered Aaron in the same arrogant way he used to speak, if not even more arrogantly.
"I can hand over the rewards, but I am a bit confused. Please clear a few things up for me before that", Aaron asked Harry in a polite manner with a hint of nervousness in his tone.
Seeing that things can be concluded with a few words, Harry decided to talk a few more words for the rewards. As long as he can get them, he will propel up faster easily, and everyone will be below him soon enough.
"Ask away", he said.
"You are saying that I cheated in the first-year tournament, right?" Aaron asked Harry in a confused voice, but he didn’t keep his voice low and made sure that everyone near the group heard those words.
"Yes, I know you have cheated", Harry said without thinking much.
It was just a repeat of words he had just said. So, he didn’t see any problem with saying those words again as long as he could get those rewards from Aaron.
"So, you are saying the Great Harry Volkel found out that I have cheated", Aaron asked. This time, the shivering tone disappeared, but a small smile formed at the corner of his lips.
"Yes", Harry confirmed, "How many times I have to say? You cheated. So the rewards shouldn’t be yours".
Harry wanted to beat Aaron for asking the same thing again and again.
"Is he dumb?" he thought, but when he looked around, he could see that the atmosphere was a bit weird.
He saw that a few of the goons who came with him had now disappeared. There are other students who appeared around them. He instinctively felt that something was wrong with the situation, but he was not intelligent enough to grasp what was happening.
"So, the Great Harry Volkel has declared that he caught a cheat in the first-year tournament that even the staff of the academy didn’t find. Even the professors didn’t find the cheat. Even the headmaster failed to do so, but the Great Harry Volkel was able to find this", this time Aaron boomed out loudly.
Now Harry understood why a few goons disappeared. They are the intelligent ones of the lot, and they quickly understood what was happening.
Aaron was dragging them into a trap without doing much of anything.
If Aaron has cheated, then the staff should have found. If they didn’t and if rumours spread that Harry has found out that Aaron has cheated, then that would be a slap for the academy. If Harry can’t provide proof regarding his findings, then he will be in trouble.
The other goons who came with Harry pulled away from him, saying that they had nothing to do with this and were not with Harry. Seeing that everyone distanced themselves from Harry made him angry, but there was nothing he could do.
He could only clench his fist in defeat and leave the place.
"One day, you would pay for this", Harry swore in his mind and left the place.
Seeing how easy it was to handle the bullies, Aaron chuckled and went on his way. He is not an idiot. He knew that he merely postponed the fight, but that’s better than fighting now.
As time goes on, the difference between these goons and him would only widen. Then he would not even have to lift his finger to defeat them.
If it were just these goons, he would show them their places and settle this once and for all, but he knew that someone else stirred this up. They wouldn’t show themselves unless required, and Aaron wants the same.
If that shadow player shows up, the situation would only become worse. Aaron wants that shadow player to be in shadows much longer, so that he can improve himself before smashing that shadow player and whatever background he has easily.
