Chapter 112: Chapter 112

City of Valora...Military Academy...

The city of Valora was built over three hundred years ago, but the development was very fast as it was designated as the capital of the alliance.

The reason behind that decision was simple. The region where the city was built has a lot of almost inexhaustible resource points, like dungeons and many secret realms. Unlike dungeons, secret realms are not inexhaustible resource points, but they produce better quality resources than dungeons.

The dungeons here reached SS-rank, and there are twenty of them concentrated in the region, ten being in the city itself.

The area around a town or a city is called its region, and the resources that are available there belong to that town or city. With that comes the responsibility of guarding the region.

The region of Valora has many resource points, and they are better in rank. So, as soon as the city was established, it developed like crazy. Two of the academies established near the city went on to become one of the top five academies in the world.

One of them is Capital Academy, which was directly controlled by the Capital city itself, while the other one is Military Academy, which was under the Alliance Military.

Unlike other academies, where students on graduation would do whatever they want unless warranted in the time of crisis, the students of the Military Academy would join the military. There was no other choice for them.

This condition would be included before the students sign to join the military. This was because it was the military that invested a lot of time and resources in these kids, and if they went elsewhere, that would be a loss for the academy.

Of course, they only have to be in the service for a minimum mandated time. After completing the mandated time, they can leave or continue, which would depend on themselves.

---

At the moment, in the office of the Headmaster of the Military Academy, there were a total of seven people seated.

Five of them are headmasters of the top five academies, while one is a representative of the Alliance and the last one, who took the seat of the Military Academy’s headmaster, Justin Emberlake, one of the five human gods.

He was also known as the God of Volcano, as he was known for his showy skills of Volcanic eruption.

"Hello everyone, I think that everyone knows everyone. So, there is no need for introductions. Before we go into the main reason for this assembly, let’s talk about how things are going in your academies, one by one", Justin spoke, and no one said no to that.

Who would say no to a god?

"Okay, since we are in that Military Academy, let’s talk about how things are going in the Military Academy. So, tell me, Sheila, how are things here?" Justin asked.

Shiela, the headmistress of the Military Academy, went to speak about how things were at the academy.

After her, it was the turn of the others and when Justin asked the headmasters one by one how things are going with the marked students.

Marked students who have caught the eyes of the higher-ups of the Alliance. The Alliance believes that these students will become powerhouses in the near future.

Soon, it was Dusk Academy’s turn.

"So, how are things on your end, Viren?" the old man asked.

"Well, they are not bad. In fact, I can say they are doing better", Viren replied.

"Oh, good", Justin smiled, and was about to speak about other things, but changed his mind at the last second and asked, "Hmm, I remember that a Death Mage has ranked first in the Alliance Exam. He joined Dusk Academy, right?"

"Yes", Viren replied.

"How’s he doing?" Justin asked.

It was very rare to see a Death Mage rank first in the exam. It hasn’t happened in a long time. That made it interesting for Justin, and the reason why he asked about Aaron.

"Ah, from what I learned, he is doing good. He even ranked first in the recent first-year competition", Viren said with a smile.

Unlike the commoners, the top actually knew the actual potential of a Death Class. For some reason, they couldn’t reach their full potential. Even though these top people knew this fact, they couldn’t do anything about it. Since there was nothing that could be done, they deemed the Death classes as weak and started to ignore them as time went on.

Even if that was the case, once in a while, someone with huge potential would awaken a Death Class. Whenever that happens, the higher-ups hope that whatever that was limiting the Death Class awakeners would be removed, but even after years, nothing has changed.

There was now less hope.

Now, Aaron appeared and reached the top rank in the exam. So, the hopes have risen again and the reason why Justin asked Viren about Aaron. Though he asked about him, it was just as an afterthought.

"Oh, that’s good", Justin commented, but said nothing more after learning that Aaron topped once more.

Hearing those words, the other five were surprised. There is even a glint in the eyes of the Headmaster of Luminar.

Luminar Academy offered Aaron a better contract than Dusk Academy, but Aaron chose Dusk Academy.

Hearing that Aaron ranked first among the first-year students, an expression appeared on his face for a second, and disappeared before others could see it.

---

"Now, let’s move on to the more gloomy things", Justin spoke, and as he said, the atmosphere became gloomy as they were going to discuss about something that could become a boon or a catastrophe to human society.

"We know that the world will change in the near future. Things would revert back to the time as they were when the Age of Magic started, and that means Chaos", Justin spoke in a gloomy voice.

He didn’t like this scenario at all.

Who would?

Though this may improve the world in strength, it would also cause chaos before the world can settle and improve for the better.

"Now, gentleman, with this upcoming Chaos, there is reason to believe that the Cults would cause a lot of trouble. There is a chance that they know about this upcoming event", Justin spoke.

The reason was that the notification said that a hundred people were upgraded, but he didn’t know everyone of these hundred.

It was not just Aaron that the alliance had no idea about, there are many more.

More than half of these upgraded ones were unaccounted for. The alliance is sure that many should belong to the big families, but there is a chance that some of the cultists, at least the leaders, were some of these unknown upgraded ones.

It would mean that the Cults would make plans to cause a lot of trouble in the upcoming days, and they needed to prepare for the chaotic situations that are going to appear in the world.

If they don’t, there is a chance that the Alliance would fall, and human society would fall back into the state where it was on the brink of extinction. This was something they couldn’t let happen, and to ensure that, they needed to take necessary precautions.
