Chapter 166: Chapter 166

The first match of Round Two of Stage Three was held between Aaron and Mary, who are from the winning set of the final eight, who became the final four.

Aaron won that match. After that, the match was between the ones who made it to the final eight but failed to become part of the final four.

Alternative matches were held in order to give the students the much-needed rest after their last fight as each has to fight three matches before the end of the day, before the tournament ends.

By the end of the night, all the matches had ended.

From among the last four, Aaron has won all three matches, while Mary won two matches and the guy from the Military Academy has won a match, leaving the other student from Capital Academy without any wins.

Of the four who didn’t make it to the final four, Erika won three matches.

With this data, it was easily determined who the top five students of the tournament were.

Aaron stood at first rank, followed by Mary at Second rank. Then comes the guy from the Military Academy, ranked third, and the other one from the Capital Academy, ranked fourth, while the fifth rank is occupied by Erika.

With two spots occupied by Dusk and Capital academies each, it can be easily determined that one of these two academies would occupy the first rank, while the other one would be ranked second.

One would think that since Dusk Academy student ranks first, Dusk Academy would rank first, but such a type of thinking is wrong.

It was because winning may bring a lot of points for the academy, but it was not just winning that was considered. The performance of the students would also be taken into account.

The alliance would consider how far a student in the tournament was they were able to advance, whether by winning or getting a pass. Depending on how they moved, the points vary.

Luck is a major factor in anyone’s life and determines how high they will grow in the future, but that can’t be a deciding factor when ranking the academies. When the students were clashing with each other, that may be okay, but when rating academies, that can’t be the major factor.

"Thank you, everyone, for attending the tournament. I hope you all enjoyed the tournament as much as I did and hope we see you all next year", the coordinator ended the tournament with his speech.

He came down to the students who were waiting for him, "You five follow me, and the three of you can join your academy group", he said as he started to walk into the stadium.

After walking for fifteen minutes, they reached the Manager’s office.

The man turned towards them, "One by one, you would enter the office. Only when the previous one exits would the next one go. First, it’s Aaron’s turn", he said.

As instructed Aaron entered the office, where there was a man sitting in the manager’s seat, though Aaron was sure he was not the manager.

"You are Aaron Skyhart, right?" the man asked with a smile.\

Aaron responded, "I am, sir", in a polite manner.

He doesn’t know who this is. So, it’s always best to respond in a polite manner, as no one would know what one’s trigger could be.

The man nodded and took out a small pouch, "This is a space pouch, capable of storing a lot of things. The storage space is 5 cubic meters. This is not the reward, rather the items in it are the rewards. This is just a complimentary reward for everyone", he said.

Aaron took the pouch and thanked him before checking it. He saw that the pouch was sealed.

"The seal is easy to remove. As long as you apply mana to the seal, it will break apart. This was just to make sure that no one tampered with it during the transport and if anyone did, we would know immediately", the man spoke.

Aaron once again thanked him before exiting the room. There was no need to check infront of the man. That would be impolite.

After him, the other four went in and collected their rewards. After that, the coordinator took us to our respective groups.

---

After returning to the hotel, the group had dinner before going to bed.

At dinner, Lyanna spoke about their departure. There is a train that leaves early at six, the next morning. Tickets were already booked. No need to worry about that, but they need to go to sleep as they need to wake up early or miss their train.

Once the dinner was finished, everyone returned to their rooms to sleep. They need to wake up early in the morning or else they might miss out the train.

Aaron wanted to sleep but his mind was thinking about the rewards from the moment he got them to the moment he returned to his bed. There is no way would be he able to sleep now if he doesn’t check them.

So, Aaron went on to check the rewards that the alliance handed to him. He waited for some time to check the rewards in private for a good reason. It was so that no one would be able to know what rewards were given out to him, except for the alliance who gave him the rewards. He didn’t intend to make the knowledge public as that could attract greed or envy from others.

Checking them in public could reveal what he has received and may cause some greedy ones to snatch them. That was why he waited until he returned to his room to check the rewards that the alliance gave to him.

Though as the first ranker, it could be easily estimated that he had received some good resources, that doesn’t mean everyone would act against him without knowing the contents.

Except for bandits who would greed over everything that can be used by themselves or sold to others, many would not act on it just because of assumptions. Unless the resource is useful to them and wouldn’t be easily available, it’s not worth the risk.

Attacking a student directly or indirectly would rub off wrongly with the alliance. So, doing such things without significant benefits is not a good idea.

It was why, he stored away the sealed space bag, which was a complimentary, filled with the actual rewards. He didn’t open that at all until he returned to his room.

Who knows what methods the big shots that attended the tournament have?

So, he couldn’t check the contents of the space bag given to him and had to wait till now.

No more.
