Demon CEO's Hidden Love: Mr Grayson Stole Me From My Abusive Husband-Chapter 211: Winning Him Over
Chapter 211: Winning Him Over
Serena dropped her shoulders and flung her head back, taking a sharp inhale she took in the homely scent of their villa. Ever since Cassie was hospitalized, she hadn’t been home or even had a proper change of clothes.
Helping himself to a drink, Scott eyed her suspiciously, his thoughts spiralling all over the place. ’My greedy sister wouldn’t pass up on an opportunity like this. Could it be that she doesn’t know Brooke got married to Thane Grayson?’
’Then that means that Brooke might be keeping her new identity a secret from everyone, and I only found out by accident.’ he counted himself fortunate that he got hit by that car that night and met Brooke abroad.
Thinking deeper he figured, ’Brooke must also not know that I’m her uncle and not her father. Does this mean I’m the only one who-’ his words were cut off by Serena’s ramble.
"What do we do? I don’t think he has accepted Cassie as his daughter yet! And what about Brooke? What if that wench claims she’s my daughter just to get in on Julian’s wealth?!" His sister buried her face in her palm running out of ideas.
Whereas her brother had just come up with an idea of his own after stumbling upon a sudden realization.
’All this ignorance could work to my advantage. To Brooke, I’m her father, the one Serena took away from her. While to Serena, Brooke is just a thorn in her side that needs to be handled.’ he told himself biting back the wide grin planted on his face.
He turned to his panicked sister and said in a gentle tone, "Don’t worry, just like when we were kids, I’ll take care of everything."
Serena’s lips widened into a smile, "Thank you brother! I was having a headache trying to think of what to do."
He poured her a glass, and passed it across the counter, "Of course, I’ll always look out for you when it matters sis." freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
"Speaking of sisters, have you been able to contact Sarah? She’s not answering any of my calls." Serena asked, picking the glass from the counter.
Scott shook his head, "I told her to monitor Julian, but when I returned to the hospital she had disappeared."
"Shouldn’t we be worried? What if she’s stirring up trouble? Scott, can we really trust that woman?" Serena was anxious, she had never seen eye to eye with her sister since they were children, and she definitely didn’t want her foiling their perfect plan.
But her brother seemed relaxed, he took a gulp of his wine before giving his reply. "An opportunist like Sarah is none of my concern. She’s the kind who latches onto the surest bet, she won’t be a thorn in our side."
But his sister was not convinced, "How can you be so sure? We were barely able to convince her to not call Brooke. I don’t know, I think we should take care of her before she spills something she shouldn’t."
"Don’t worry your pretty head Serena, I know the both of you like the back of my palm, you worry about explaining things properly to Cassie when you discharge her later tonight-" he was saying, but got cut off by a sudden ring.
"Sorry, my phone is ringing." Serena said reaching for her phone. She picked it up and widened her eyes, "It’s Cassie calling!"
She immediately picked it up and placed the phone on speaker, "Yes darling? Why did you call? I’m about to pick you up from the hospital-"
Cassie cut her off. "There’s no need! Seeing as you have more important things to do, I’ve left the hospital."
Scott rolled his eyes, why was this brat so difficult to handle?!
Serena gasped, "What?! Where are you my dear-"
Cassie scoffed, "What’s it to you? I see that I’m your second priority so I can do whatever the hell I want to. While you and uncle can keep on plotting whatever petty plan you’re crafting."
Scott was seconds away from yanking the phone out of Serena’s hand and scolding the girl when they heard a voice in the distance holler at Cassie.
A familiar voice.
"Have you called your mother and told her you’re with me?" Julian asked, approaching Cassie.
Immediately, Cassie’s pitch went soft and low, "I just got off the phone with her, and she says it’s okay." She said then disconnected the call.
Both siblings exchanged shocked glances with each other, Scott dropped both bottle and glass and reached for his coat on the counter. "Let’s go get that loud mouth before she does something she shouldn’t!" He announced in a panic.
But Serena refused, "But she already told him I agreed, if we rush over there it’ll raise suspicions. I think that for now we should let her spend the night there." She sighed, "Maybe they’ll bond as father and daughter."
Her brother was just not bought with that idea. Cassie? Win over a man like Julian? He had worked for the man for years, and one thing he was certain of was that he was very cautious, especially when it had to deal with the things dear to him.
But Serena had a point, going over there now will just make him doubt them even more. "Fine, but the first thing tomorrow morning we’re taking her back, and you are going to firmly drill the plan into her head." he heaved a relieved sigh and relaxed his shoulders, because Cassie was already lecturered on the basics, she knew who Julian’s actual daughter was, and knew to never admit she was Brooke’s sister.
Serena nodded, she had been meaning to speak to Cassie about the plan but her daughter had been blowing her off. She was more focused over the articles about her flying around, than focusing about anything else.
"But don’t you think it’s odd. I didn’t think that Julian had accepted her yet, so why would he suddenly take her to his house?" Scott asked, "Something isn’t right here."
In response his sister dismissed his suspicions, "I think seeing Cassie in this state has made him start to warm up to her. Trust me brother, Julian is an easy man to fool, and Cassie is more than capable of winning him over."
