Desire Me If You Can-Chapter 100
Grayson, looking down at Dein, added casually, as if it were obvious,
"You might need me in the middle of the night. When that happens, you should call me right away."
Dein was taken aback, his jaw dropping in disbelief. Before he could even process what was happening, Grayson added with a smile,
"Maybe you’ll want to come into my room, too."
The sight of him blushing and smiling shyly was almost comical. Dein could only gape at him, speechless. He had been stunned by Grayson’s actions countless times before, but every time, Grayson did something even more ridiculous. Once again, Dein felt light-headed, and he pressed his forehead, closing his eyes, taking a deep breath. Getting angry and throwing insults wouldn’t do anything here. Having learned some tactics, he extended his hand as if to stop a dog, opening his mouth.
"Pretty boy, I think we need to keep some boundaries."
"We don’t need boundaries if we’re lovers."
"No, especially because we’re lovers, we need them."
Dein immediately shot down Grayson’s rejection without hesitation. As soon as the word "lover" left his mouth, he felt a sharp rejection rise all over his body, but he suppressed it and continued speaking.
"If we keep crossing these lines like this, I’ll get exhausted quickly. I’ve already crossed my limits enough as it is. Don’t invade my space any further, understand?"
Dein glared at Grayson intensely, making it clear that if he took another step, he wouldn’t stay quiet. Grayson silently looked down at his face.
After a few seconds of silence, Grayson sighed lightly and said, "Alright." Seeing the defeated look on his face, Dein felt his heart soften for a moment, but then he quickly regained control. Even if Grayson had saved Darling’s life, there was a limit. He had already put up with enough. There needed to be clear boundaries between where he could retreat and where he could not.
"Give me the key."
"The key?"
Dein stretched out his hand, and Grayson tilted his head in confusion. Dein coldly added,
"The key to that door, you have it, don’t you?"
"I don’t."
"Don’t lie, I’ve told you that several times."
Dein gave him a warning, and Grayson pouted before turning around and heading to the drawer. After pulling out the key from the small drawer, he tossed it, and Dein quickly caught it with one hand.
"The key can lock from both sides. Though I won’t lock it."
The latter part of his sentence sounded meaningful. In other words, Grayson was saying that he would always welcome him. Of course, from Dein’s perspective, that was completely unacceptable. And he immediately acted on it.
Brushing past Grayson, Dein walked confidently toward the connected room and locked the door with the key. A satisfying click rang out as he pulled on the door handle to confirm it was locked. Then, he grabbed Grayson’s hand, placing the key flat on his palm, as if telling him to take it.
"Anything else to say?"
"Since it’s the first night, maybe you’ll be scared, so you could stay with me..."
"Sleep well."
Without even hearing the rest of his words, Dein shoved Grayson out of the room. Only after he was finally alone did he exhale deeply.
Being with that guy really drives me crazy.
Shaking his head, Dein noticed the carrier that had been placed on the bed. Oh no, I almost forgot Darling. Panicking, he quickly moved, opened the carrier door, and as he released some pheromones, Darling sniffed the air and let out a small "meow."
"Sorry, Darling. Were you anxious?"
Dein apologized in a soft voice while gently stroking Darling’s head with his fingers. The cat tried to nuzzle his hand, but didn’t attempt to leave the carrier.
Seeing the pad inside was wet, Dein proceeded to unpack his bag. After carefully pulling Darling out and changing the pad, he placed the cat back inside. Darling seemed to settle in, retreating deep into the carrier as if waiting.
Once he confirmed that Darling was calm, Dein still had many tasks to do. He placed Darling’s favorite items in their proper spots, poured food into a dish, filled the litter box, and once everything was ready, he placed the food bowl right in front of the carrier so Darling could eat anytime. Only then did he finally head for the bathroom.
"Huuh."
As he sank into the hot water filling the bathtub, he finally started to feel his mind clearing.
Dein rested his head on the edge of the tub, gazing up at the ceiling. Like the rest of the house, the bathroom had a high ceiling, half of which was covered in glass, offering a clear view of the night sky. During the day, sunlight would surely pour in through those windows. Looking at the wall, there was another large glass door, just like in the room. If he wished, he could open the window and enjoy the fantastic night view and fresh air while bathing. Grayson had been right; this was the best room in his house. And, grudgingly, Dein had to admit it. As he said, he didn’t dislike this room. In fact, he was quite satisfied.
"Huu."
With a deep sigh, he fell back into his thoughts. When he thought about it, this situation was exactly what Dein had longed for. A life where he could lounge around at home every day, enjoying life without worrying about money. On the surface, everything seemed perfect now...
The problem was that Grayson Miller was unemployed.
What he had wanted was for his partner to go to work, go on occasional business trips, and leave him to live a free and lazy life. Not someone who would stick to him like glue and follow him around all day.
In fact, Dein’s position seemed more suited to being the 35,896,425th lover of some rich woman. He could quietly enjoy the money, buy things for Darling when needed, and live without worry. He wouldn’t need a fortune, just enough to live a comfortable life with some spending money, and he could live like that forever.
But for Grayson Miller, Dein was too important. If it were just a casual relationship where he could fade into the background, providing service once or twice a year, that would be fine, but Grayson would never leave him like that. The thought of what might happen if he accepted him sent chills down his spine.
Maybe he would end up living attached to me, like a turtle on its shell.
The image of Grayson clinging to his back, rubbing his chest, popped into his head so easily that Dein shuddered and shook his head vigorously. Hah, hah. His breathing became ragged as he muttered with a pale face.
"That guy, he’s not gonna work."
Dein was ready to leave at any time if he got sick of this place. He had lived this way until now. No one could change his life. Never.
He made that promise to himself as he grabbed a sponge, lathering it with body wash, rubbing it over his body, as if whipping his own wavering judgment back into place.
Meow, a small sound stirred Dein's awareness. It seemed like Darling was calling him. With a soft groan, ➤ NоvеⅠight ➤ (Read more on our source) he opened his eyes, and there Darling was, beside him. The cat was rubbing its head against his cheek, as if waiting. Dein happily pulled it into his arms.
"Did you sleep well, Darling?"
He kissed its face and closed his eyes again. For some reason, he felt unusually good today. Had the motel bed been this soft? The sensation of the soft mattress and sheets wrapping around him made him instinctively smile.
Mmm, a pleasant sound escaped his lips as he suddenly opened his eyes wide. Lying there, his eyes rolled around before he slowly sat up, careful not to startle Darling, and looked around.
Bright sunlight poured through the large window, illuminating the once-glamorous room that still felt unfamiliar. Only then did Dein fully realize where he had fallen asleep the previous night.
Haah.
He let out a sigh without realizing it. No matter how many times he saw it, the room never seemed to feel familiar. It would likely stay that way until the day he left.
Dein thought to himself as he slowly tried to get out of the large bed. Turning his head absentmindedly, he froze for a moment.
No way, I must’ve seen that wrong.
Hesitant, Dein slowly turned his head, and the moment he saw it, he froze completely.
Beyond the closed window, Grayson was standing, smiling broadly, and waving at him. Ridiculously, as their eyes met, he beamed and said,
"Hey, darling, good morning."
Aaaaaaaaaah.
Dein opened his mouth in shock, letting out a silent scream.
