Dominant Marriage: The CEO's Overbearing Love-Chapter 39: Being Hit On
Chapter 39: Chapter 39: Being Hit On
The lecture lasted for nearly two hours. Fang Shaobei said a few words of gratitude before stepping off the stage. Some students were preparing to follow him out, but the person in charge picked up the microphone: "Alright, let me say a few words next." This was to buy some time and prevent congestion later.
However, the students standing in the hallway listening to the lecture were waiting for this moment. As soon as Fang Shaobei walked out, they crowded around him, thankfully held back by security.
Gu Qimiao stood below the stage, waiting for the person in charge to finish speaking so she could pack up the art supplies.
These art supplies were a bit heavy for a girl to carry. Fang Shaobei had told her beforehand that she only needed to pack everything up and leave it there for him; he would come by himself to get it once the students had mostly dispersed.
After the person in charge finished speaking, the students swarmed out through the front and back doors.
Gu Qimiao was on the stage packing up, thinking that surely no one would pay attention to her. To her surprise, just as she folded the easel, a pair of large, distinct hands reached over to help her pack the easel.
Gu Qimiao looked up and saw the owner of the hands. He was a bright, handsome guy, who she thought was just being helpful, so she thanked him.
Unexpectedly, the guy didn’t leave and smiled, saying, "How can we let a girl do such rough work?"
Gu Qimiao was taken aback, thinking that a girl studying art must have the strength to carry her own easel, otherwise, how could she learn? Would she hire someone to carry it for her every day?
So she didn’t complain to him, just gave a dry laugh and turned to continue packing the art supplies.
He followed her and helped her put the brushes into the box.

Gu Qimiao paused in her movements, thinking to herself, is this what they call striking up a conversation?
She glanced around. The large tiered classroom was almost empty, with only a few boys still sitting, laughing and watching them. They seemed to be this guy’s friends.
"Hmm?" The guy saw she didn’t answer and continued with a smile, "I mean no harm, just want to be friends. Are you from our school? What year are you? You must be a junior, right?"
Gu Qimiao awkwardly smiled and shook her head, "No."
"You’re not from our school?"
Gu Qimiao nodded and quickened her pace, wanting to get away quickly.
Whenever approached, her way was to dodge.
"Not even willing to share your name?" The guy looked at her with some disappointment.
Gu Qimiao looked at his straightforward and clean appearance, and considering he was still a student, he didn’t seem like a bad person. So she told him, "Gu Qimiao."
"Gu Qimiao? Which ’Qi’ and which ’Miao’?"
"The ’Qi’ and ’Miao’ from ’random and mysterious’ (qímiào)."
"Haha, that’s quite a unique name. I’ll remember it... Can you leave a contact? Next time you come to the school, I can show you around."
Just as Gu Qimiao was feeling troubled, Fang Shaobei arrived timely, immediately understanding the situation but pretending not to know. He smiled, picked up the drawing board, and slung it over his shoulder. He looked at the guy and asked Gu Qimiao, "A friend?"
"...No."
Fang Shaobei seemingly nonchalantly pulled Gu Qimiao to his left, positioning himself between her and the guy, then said, "Let’s go."
Gu Qimiao hurriedly followed Fang Shaobei out. The guy yelled at her back, "My name is Xu Shaolun!"
Gu Qimiao glanced back, then lowered her head and followed Fang Shaobei out.
As soon as they left, those boys came up, teasing, "Even Brother Lunzi can’t get the girl, huh."
"Haha, not just failed; the little fairy didn’t even want to talk to him."
"The little fairy’s face turned red."
Xu Shaolun laughed openly, stating bluntly, "I like her."
