Domineering Love-Chapter 23 - Nightmare
Chapter 23: Chapter 23: Nightmare
Chapter 23 -23: Nightmare
Cherish Turner was stunned, completely unable to move under his restraint. Her shocked gaze suddenly lost focus, but the flickering memory fragments in her mind tortured her to the brink of insanity.
She saw a tall figure looming over her in a dim room; she couldn’t see his face but couldn’t resist his attack no matter what.
The burning heat scorched her, and her fuzzy mind was completely out of control. She could only endure – endure this man’s endless plundering of herself.
Suddenly, as if possessed, Cherish pushed William Griffith away forcefully!
With a crisp “slap,” Cherish struck William’s face with a force that made her tremble.
Cherish was the first person who dared to hit him like this!
“Do you know what you are doing?” He squeezed these words out through gritted teeth, his eyes dark as ink.
“Don’t…don’t do this to me…” She trembled all over, her eyes vacant as if caught in a nightmare, completely unlike herself just moments ago.
“Cherish Turner?”
“Please, don’t do this…”
Cherish felt as if she had lost all her strength, her body weakened and she squatted at William’s feet.
Looking at Cherish’s pitiful appearance, William’s heart clenched, aching and suffocating.
In the end, he had still frightened her. He shouldn’t have been impatient; the timing was not right for everything.
“It’s okay, I promise not to be harsh on you.” Sighing, William gently pulled her up and carefully hugged her.
Only then did Cherish, in his arms, slightly calm down.
But why were those images in her mind just now? She didn’t even know.
“William Griffith, I didn’t mean to… I don’t know what to say…” She didn’t know how to explain.
“I know, I know it all.”
Cherish obediently allowed herself to be held, though she didn’t understand what he meant by “I know” and why he knew. All she knew was that she felt safe in his arms at this moment.
Just then, Lewis knocked on the door from outside:
“Sis, your phone is ringing!”
As he spoke, the distinctive ringtone could be heard, and Cherish immediately withdrew from William’s embrace.
Cherish hurriedly avoided the father and son, then went off to a quiet spot to answer her phone.
Lewis watched Cherish’s leaving figure, then turned to look at his father.
“If you have something to say, just say it. Don’t beat around the bush.”
William’s face remained solemn.
“Dad, you like Sis, don’t you?”
“It’s Auntie.”
“Alright, Auntie. You really like Auntie Cherish, right?”
William showed an aloof expression and remained silent.
“Liking someone isn’t something to be ashamed of. Grandpa and Grandma are eager for you to get married!”
Being seen through by the little guy, William’s resolute face couldn’t help but show embarrassment. Under normal circumstances, the little boy wouldn’t say such things because he’d be beaten, but for some reason today, William didn’t refute him.
Lewis thought to himself that he must tell Grandpa and Grandma the good news: a wife has been found!
“Go back to your room and get dressed. If you catch a cold, you’ll have to go to the hospital for a shot.”
Lewis looked at William and spread his hands. Dad always changed the subject whenever he felt shy, just like now.
Sticking out his tongue, the little guy finally went back to his room and obediently dressed himself.
William got himself together and went out to look for the little woman. But as he reached the corner of the staircase, he heard her on the phone with someone else.
Her smile was radiant, her voice gentle – who was she talking to?
The possibility he thought of made William clench his fists.
