Because of this, demons were common enemies to human, monster, and ghost cultivators.

That said, demons did not necessarily have dark spiritual roots but they cultivated a variant of dark qi called demon qi.

Unlike most qi, demon qi was toxic to other races, excluding those with a dark spiritual root.

As a result, this biased cultivators against the dark spiritual root.

If a dark spiritual root cultivator appeared amongst the other races, they would be treated as an enemy to the race and often killed before they could grow up.

Over time, dark spiritual roots which were originally a rare blessing, all but disappeared amongst the races, including the demon race.

After Shen Xu revealed what he knew, Yang Shi nodded and continued speaking.

"My dark head can unleash demon qi attacks. It can also swallow poisons and unleash poison attacks."

"This is good." Shen Xu exclaimed.

"Good?" Yang Shi stared at his master in confusion.

"Have you forgotten? We have the pure poison and light water."

"What about it?"

"The water can accommodate countless poisons and the more poisonous it is, the better the eventual detoxifying effect. We can add some demon qi and your poison into the water to make the detoxifying effect even more potent."

"I see." Yang Shi sighed.

"Yang Shi, what’s your plan?" Shen Xu asked while pouring wine into three cups.

"Plan..." Yang Shi muttered but soon continued.

"My cultivation is not stable so I want to go out to practice."
