FLASH MARRIAGE; CHARMED BY THE RUTHLESS BILLIONAIRE CEO-Chapter 315: Disheartened
Michael was already waiting patiently at the entrance to the mansion when Annabelle's car pulled to a stop by the driveway.
He has an anxious look on his face as he watched his younger sister climb out of the car.
Her shoulders were slumped and her gaze downcast as she hurried towards him, fighting back her tears.
"Sarah..."
Sarah put forth her right hand, cutting her brother off. One look at his face, and she instantly knew he had spoken to Henry.
"Did he call you?" Sarah demanded angrily.
"Let me explain."
"Just answer the damn question, Mikey." Sarah half-yelled, attracting her mother's attention from inside the house. "Did he call you?"
"I put him up to this," Michael confessed, not willing to let Henry suffer for something he didn't do.
"You did what?" Sarah screamed, the tears she was fighting to hold back falling freely down her flushed cheeks.
"Sarah, please calm down." Annabelle hurried over to Sarah's side.
"Stay out of this, Anna."
Anna lowered her gaze, taking two steps backwards, while stroking her arm. She had never witnessed Sarah looking this mad, and she didn't want to make things worse by provoking her further.
"Sarah, I'm sorry." Michael tried to cuddle his angry sister, but she pushed him away.
"Why would you do such a thing? Do you think I can't take care of myself? Do I look so helpless to you?"
"No, you don't. I was simply looking out for you. I don't want anything bad to happen to you again." freёweɓnovel.com
"Really! So you would prefer I live in fear for the rest of my life?"
"No."
"Then what?" Sarah wiped her flowing tears with the back of her hand. She couldn't explain why she was so mad at her brother for always looking out for her. But she still vented her frustration.
"All I wanted was just to have some fun alone with my friend. But you and Henry ruined it for me."
"I'm sorry." Michael tried again to embrace her again but she avoided his touch.
"Just leave me alone."
"What is going on here?" Judith rushed out of the house, looking troubled to see her inseparable children quarrelling.
"Sarah..."
Sarah didn't bother answering her mother, as she ran past her into the house and straight up the stairs, into her bedroom.
"Sarah, wait up..." Judith hurried after her daughter while Michael stayed back to interrogate Annabelle.
"Who the hell is this Sebastian guy that tried to spy on my sister, dressing?" Michael asked between clenched jaws, his tone laced with rage.
"He is our course mate, the same one who helped Sarah the day she fainted in school," Annabelle explained in a slightly trembling voice, terrified by the chilly look in Michael's eyes.
"That Sebastian!" Michael raised his brow, a little bit stunned.
Although he wasn't around when that incident happened, he recalled his parents saying only nice things about the guy.
Annabelle hesitated a little, looking behind her to ensure no one was spying on her before confiding in Michael.
"I need to tell you something. But I haven't told Sarah yet because Sebastian threatened to ruin my reputation if I did."
"What?" Michael was taken aback by Annabelle's statement.
Taking a deep breath, Annabelle moved closer to Sebastian and whispered a secret in his ear.
"Are you kidding me?" Michael's gaze was ablaze with fury.
"No. But please, you can't tell Sarah about this. If she finds out, she would react negatively, and my reputation might be damaged forever." Annabelle pleaded, recalling Sebastian's threat and his hard evidence.
Just then, a sleek black car pulled into the mansion premises, stopping a few feet behind Annabelle's car.
"We'll talk about this later in private," Michael said as he left Annabelle's side to meet Henry, who had just stepped out of the car.
"Did you get to talk to her?" Henry asked, his gaze darting between Henry, Annabelle and the open entrance door.
"She's very angry, and I don't think she would appreciate your presence right now."
Henry's heart sank, seeing through the hurt registered in Michael's eyes.
"I understand."
"Just give me some time to talk to her. I'll let you know when it's okay to come pay her a visit."
"Sure thing. Thanks, man." Henry shook Michael's hand and was about to return to his car when Michael said.
"Let's talk briefly in your car before you leave."
Outside Sarah's bedroom, Judith kept knocking and pleading with her to open the door.
But Sarah was too sad and hurt to listen to anyone's plea right now.
"What is happening, sweetheart, and why all the noise? I thought Sarah went out." Hillary, Judith's husband,, came up the stairs towards his anxious wife.
"She came back early, and I have never seen her so angry. She won't open her door or talk to me. I don't know what happened to her,
but I met her quarrelling with Michael outside." Judith lamented, still knocking on Sarah's bedroom door.
"Come, let's just give her some time to cool off." Hillary pulled his wife away from the door, knowing Sarah wouldn't open up until she was ready.
"But..."
"Don't worry, she'll be fine," Hillary assured his wife in his soothing voice.
"Maybe I should call her cousin to talk to her. She always listens to Amelia." Judith tried to dial Amelia's number, but her husband stopped her immediately.
"Let Amelia be. She has enough on her plate already. We can't add our burden to hers."

Amelia spent her entire day resting, eating, strolling around the mansion garden with Maria and watching some television programs. At some point she became bored of doing nothing and getting over pampered by her mother-in-law.
Nevertheless, Amelia made the most of her day relaxing. She had a good feeling about the recent development concerning her father's discovery, Marcus's report and her conversation with Blaze.
Tomorrow, Matt and his cohorts would be released from prison, and she already had the perfect excuse to be absent from the family reunion.
Also, her father would learn of Gwen's paternity tomorrow, and Amelia couldn't wait to see the look on his face when they both unveiled the result together.
Seated in a relaxed position on the plush cushion and enjoying the tranquil surroundings of the terrace, Amelia was slowly sipping her blended fruit juice when she felt someone quietly approach her from behind.
Thanks to her very sensitive nostrils and sharp memory, she immediately recognised the unique cologne of the silent intruder.
