Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict-Chapter 1049 - 1048 A Bunch of Names
Chapter 1049: 1048 A Bunch of Names
“Okay!”
Wen Ran nodded gently—she had no intention of attending Luo Haofeng’s wedding.
If two people didn’t love each other, such a wedding was meaningless. She had felt relieved that there was no wedding ceremony when she and Mo Xiuchen got married.
Back then, she didn’t love him, and he did not love her.
It was but a trade of interests; what was there to celebrate in a wedding, forcing guests to offer insincere blessings? Too awkward.
The phone buzzed on the coffee table. Mo Xiuchen put down the invitation and picked up the phone, “It’s Ah Kai calling, he must have received the invitation as well.”
Mo Xiuchen said to Wen Ran, then with a press of a long finger, he answered the call with a nonchalant, “Hello?”
“Mo Xiuchen, did you receive Ah Feng’s wedding invitation?” From the other end, Gu Kai’s voice came through as Mo Xiuchen turned on the speakerphone. “It seems you got it too?”
“Yep, I got it.”
Mo Xiuchen stretched out his legs, leaned back into the sofa, and lazily asked, “Are you going?”
“Ah Feng didn’t call me, I feel that the invitation wasn’t sent by him. You should call him to get his thoughts on this first, then decide whether to go or not.”
Gu Kai’s voice was deep and even as it reached them.
Mo Xiuchen thought for a moment and said, “Alright, I’ll give him a call in a bit.”
After talking to Gu Kai, Mo Xiuchen dialed Luo Haofeng’s number. The phone rang several times before Luo Haofeng’s voice came through, “Hello, Mo Xiuchen.”
“I received your wedding invitation.”
“What wedding invitation? I didn’t send you one… it must have been something Qi Meiling and my mother did.” Luo Haofeng sounded surprised at first, then sullen.

“Just as I thought, it wasn’t you. Ah Kai just asked me whether or not to attend your wedding.”
Mo Xiuchen’s lips pursed slightly—his friend was getting married without any intent of receiving blessings.
“You don’t need to come.”
Luo Haofeng rejected Mo Xiuchen without a second thought.

For happy people, time flies quickly.
But for the unhappy, it drags on slowly. From the moment the invitation was received to Luo Haofeng’s wedding, it was merely two weeks.
For Mo Xiuchen, accompanied by a wife and two unborn children, the two weeks passed in the blink of an eye.
Ever since he could feel the babies move, Mo Xiuchen’s nightly routine had changed from marital affection with Wen Ran before her pregnancy to parent-child interaction.
That night, Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran leaned against the headboard, finished reading stories to their twins from a storybook, and then his large hand caressed Wen Ran’s bulging belly, interacting with the babies.
“Ranran, haven’t you decided on the babies’ nicknames yet?”
Mo Xiuchen looked up at Wen Ran, who was sifting through a list of names with a slight frown on her brows, completely paralyzed by the difficulty of choosing.
“It’s so hard to pick, Mo Xiuchen, why don’t you choose?”
Wen Ran pouted and handed over the paper to Mo Xiuchen.
This pile of nicknames was not the work of one person—it was a group effort. Even the usually reserved Qin Mu had contributed two names for consideration.
Wen Ran found herself in a difficult situation, as every person wanted her to use the names they had chosen.
She was carrying twins, a girl and a boy, how many names could she possibly need?
“Ranran, are you handing me the task of offending others?” Mo Xiuchen took the paper from Wen Ran’s hand, a doting smile curving at the corners of his mouth.
Wen Ran raised an eyebrow, laughing as she said, “I just feel like the names you pick will definitely be better than any I choose.”
“Little liar.”
Mo Xiuchen reached out to ruffle her hair, Wen Ran let out a noise of disapproval and turned her head away, “Could you please not ruffle my hair anymore? I am going to be a mother soon.”
“Alright, once the baby comes out, I won’t ruffle your hair anymore.”
Mo Xiuchen agreed readily, his eyes scanning the paper briefly before he looked up with a smile, “Ranran, with so many names, it’s indeed hard to choose. How about we skip the nicknames, that way, we don’t have to offend anyone.”
Wen Ran laughed out loud, “Are you sure?”
“Mm, sure, dad has already agreed to name our baby. When the time comes, it’s much better to call them by their full names. Nicknames won’t work forever. If we name them ‘Baby’, we can’t very well call them that when they’re twenty.”
Wen Ran couldn’t help but laugh at the thought, nodding continuously, “That’s true, Xiuchen, let’s not give the baby a nickname then and just call them by their names.”
Mo Xiuchen raised an eyebrow and tossed the paper onto the small table by the bed. He wrapped a long arm around her shoulders and pulled her into his arms, speaking tenderly, “Ranran, wait for me to come back from Ah Feng’s wedding, then I’ll accompany you to the hospital for a prenatal checkup.”
When Luo Haofeng was mentioned, Wen Ran thought of the email Bai Xiaoxiao had sent. She smiled and nodded, looking up into his eyes, “Xiuchen, Xiaoxiao wanted me to tell Luo Haofeng that she wishes him and Qi Meiling a lifetime of happiness.”
“When did she say that?”
Mo Xiuchen narrowed his eyes with a hint of confusion.
“This morning, I received Xiaoxiao’s email. I don’t know how she found out about Luo Haofeng and Qi Meiling’s wedding, probably Meiling told her.”
“What did Bai Xiaoxiao say exactly?”
Mo Xiuchen looked at her with a gentle gaze. Bai Xiaoxiao had actually wished Luo Haofeng and Qi Meiling a lifetime of happiness?
Wen Ran’s eyes flickered as she spoke softly, “She didn’t say much, just wanted you to convey her well-wishes. She probably knows I won’t be attending Luo Haofeng’s wedding.”
“Ah Feng wouldn’t want to hear her blessings.” Mo Xiuchen’s brows furrowed slightly, as Luo Haofeng and Qi Meiling’s marriage was primarily meant to protect Bai Xiaoxiao.
Perhaps sensing the displeasure in his tone, Wen Ran explained, “Xiuchen, Xiaoxiao genuinely wishes for Luo Haofeng to have a good life. I know, you think that part of the reason Luo Haofeng and Qi Meiling are getting married is because of Xiaoxiao. Maybe, you also feel that Xiaoxiao shouldn’t have offered her blessings.”
Mo Xiuchen’s lips pressed together slightly, choosing not to reply.
Wen Ran understood him just as he understood her.
From just a sentence or an expression, she could guess his mood to some extent.
“But Luo Haofeng and Qi Meiling are married now. If Xiaoxiao doesn’t wish them well, should she go and elope with him instead?”
In the love story between Bai Xiaoxiao and Luo Haofeng, both Wen Ran and Mo Xiuchen would naturally side with their own friends. This was a shared point of human nature.
“Ranran, I’m not blaming Bai Xiaoxiao, so don’t be upset with me over this.”
Mo Xiuchen sighed, his words carrying a hint of helplessness. He didn’t want a falling out over Bai Xiaoxiao and Ah Feng’s relationship to upset his Ranran.
“I’m not upset, I just don’t want you to misunderstand Xiaoxiao.” Wen Ran leaned her head into his chest, her voice tender but tinged with a trace of sorrow and hurt, “Luo Haofeng marrying someone else must be hard on Xiaoxiao. But still, she hopes Luo Haofeng can forget the past, and since he has married Qi Meiling, he should lead a good life.”
This was what Bai Xiaoxiao had told her in the email.
