Chapter 760: Hari Liu Is The Devil (Part 1)

"What the heck is going on?" Ding Huiqing and the others were stunned.

After all these days, they couldn’t believe someone was still being chased by so many demonic beasts, especially when two of them were at the Nascent Soul stage.

"Let’s go!" Renshu Chang made the decision quickly, without any hesitation.

The two Nascent Soul stage demonic beasts were both at mid to late stages in power.

Renshu Chang had just broken through and his strength wasn’t stable yet—he could at most hold off one of the demonic beasts.

The others combined still wouldn’t be a match for the other mid-stage Nascent Soul demonic beast.

Renshu Chang wouldn’t risk his sect members’ lives just to save a disciple from Beast Tamer Valley.

Without any delay, when Renshu Chang spoke, everyone started running.

"Senior brothers ahead, I’m Ethan Liao from Beast Tamer Valley! I’m being chased by demonic beasts right now—please help me! My sect will definitely reward you!" Ethan Liao saw them from a distance and, recognizing them as disciples of the Green Lotus Sect, called out in relief.

But as soon as he shouted, those Green Lotus Sect disciples suddenly turned around and ran away without a second thought, leaving him completely stunned.

Aren’t the Green Lotus Sect disciples usually known for being kind and not abandoning others?

Why did they run away so quickly this time?

There’s no way they could know these demonic beasts were attracted by us.

None of us mentioned it, and many who could have said something are already dead.

Now, only a few of us are left.

Ethan Liao could only think that the reason they ran away was because the demonic beasts chasing him were really strong.

But he didn’t want to die either, so he kept following them.

"Damn, this Ethan Liao is so shameless! He’s following us, trying to lead these demonic beasts to us so we can deal with them instead!" Ding Huiqing felt the ground shaking more and more.

When he looked back, he saw Ethan Liao still trailing behind them and cursed in anger.

Senior Brother Cao and the others looked back and saw it too.

"The Beast Tamer Valley disciple is really shameless! They’re the ones who attracted these demonic beasts, and now they want to use us as shields!"

"Does he think we’re idiots?"

Everyone looked worried and turned their heads to Renshu Chang.

"If he doesn’t do this, he’s done for. The two Nascent Soul stage demonic beasts are faster than him—they’ll catch up eventually. We’re just unlucky to run into him and these demonic beasts. If he insists on following us, we’ll eventually get caught by the demonic beasts too," Renshu Chang said with a serious expression.

"So what if he catches up? He’s the one who caused this mess, so he should deal with it. We’re not going to risk our lives for him," Senior Brother Cao said coldly.

"He probably doesn’t know we’ve figured it out yet," Renshu Chang replied.

Everyone paused, and Vincent Tan looked confused, "What do you mean?"

"I got it," Senior Brother Cao suddenly understood, "Ethan Liao thinks we don’t know that he stole the demonic beasts’ cub, which is why they’re chasing him."

"Exactly. He probably thinks no one knows, so he dared to ask us for help."

"He’s so shameless, really thinks we’re fools. Senior Brother Chang, what should we do now?"

Ethan Liao couldn’t outrun the Nascent Soul stage demonic beasts, and neither could they.

If the demonic beasts saw them, they would definitely think they were with Ethan Liao and attack them all.

As the demonic beasts got closer, everyone grew more anxious.

Not to mention the two Nascent Soul stage demonic beasts, even the dozen Golden Core stage demonic beasts behind them would be too much for the five of them to handle.

"I’ll stop in a moment to hold off Ethan Liao and those demonic beasts for a bit. While I do that, you all run as far as you can. If you’re not around, I’m confident I can escape on my own."

Renshu Chang’s last words convinced everyone.

They knew staying would only slow him down, so they reluctantly agreed.

"I’ll stay with you. I’m strong enough to hold off a few of the Golden Core stage demonic beasts for a while. The others should go back and get help. By now, Junior Master Uncle and Martial Aunt might be out of seclusion, and if they step in, these demonic beasts won’t be a problem."

Senior Brother Cao spoke calmly and confidently.

Renshu Chang hesitated for a moment, "Alright, then. The rest of you go ahead."

"We need to go quickly. The sooner we get help, the safer they’ll be," Ding Huiqing said firmly as he pulled Vincent Tan forward.

Hearing this, the other two didn’t hesitate anymore and quickly followed them.

"After this experience, Elder Ding should be pleased," Renshu Chang said after stopping to catch his breath, "It’s true that going through tough experiences makes you grow. Ding Huiqing was never this decisive before."

"Training like this does help people grow. Ding Huiqing isn’t a bad person deep down," Senior Brother Cao agreed.

Renshu Chang then turned around, his eyes turned cold as he saw Ethan Liao catching up.

Ethan Liao saw them stop and thought they were waiting for him.

He felt relieved, thinking that the disciples of the Green Lotus Sect were really simple-minded and strong.

With them as a buffer, he thought he might be able to escape from the demonic beasts.

"Thank you, Brother Cao and Brother Chang, for helping me. But with just the two of you, I’m afraid we won’t be able to handle all these demonic beasts. Maybe we should find more people to help?" Ethan Liao suggested, pretending to care about their safety.

Senior Brother Cao let out a cold laugh and said, "Find more people? So they can be your shields, and you can run away while we’re all fighting?"
