Former Interstellar Mercenary In Urban Cultivation World-Chapter 768: Slaughtering (Part 3)
Chapter 768: Slaughtering (Part 3)
Behind them, a human followed their blood trail, strolling leisurely as if on a walk.
The human had a handsome face, with an evil smile and a menacing aura.
After enjoying the sight for a moment, the human finally spoke in an elegant and calm voice.
"Let me ask you one last time: where is Al’gath?"
"We really don’t know where he is!" one of the devils cried out in terror, leaving a trail of bright red blood and bits of flesh as he crawled away.
"You’re his companions. How could you not know where he is?" The human with the handsome face lightly pressed down on the devil’s bleeding foot with the sole of his shoe.
The devil let out a blood-curdling scream, "Al’gath’s blood escape is a special technique. It’s a random teleportation. Only he knows where he’ll end up."
"In that case, you have no reason to exist anymore," the beautiful human said calmly.
A wisp of black energy flowed from his fingertip into the devil’s body as he stepped over him and approached the other devil.
The devil in front looked back and saw in horror that his companion was rapidly aging before his eyes.
"Who are you, really?"
"Me?" Kenny Lin smiled slightly, "I’m someone you really shouldn’t have messed with. Any last words?"
The devil hesitated.
"If you don’t speak, I’ll slaughter every devil in this secret realm."
"Impossible! Even if you wait at the portal, you won’t have time to reach the human portal. If you dare to come through our portal, you’ll be dead for sure!" This devil was still thinking rationally and didn’t believe he could actually kill them all.
Kenny Lin smiled silently and suddenly glanced to his right.
A streak of sword energy instantly sliced through the nearby bushes and trees.
The devil instinctively looked over and saw one of his kind standing behind the now-sliced tree, his face full of fear.
"Run!" the devil shouted loudly.
The young devil jolted and quickly turned around to flee.
A gust of wind suddenly swept across the area, and in the blink of an eye, Kenny Lin’s figure shot forward.
The devil on the ground was briefly delighted and tried to escape.
But as he began to rise, his body froze—a sword slash had pierced through his chest.
Without even turning back, Kenny Lin casually flung another burst of sword energy before chasing after the young devil ahead.
"Your face seems unfamiliar. Didn’t you participate in the battle earlier?"
The young devil glanced back at him, terrified, and tried even harder to run faster.
When the devil didn’t respond, Kenny Lin quickly lost patience.
A few minutes later, the young devil collapsed to the ground, begging for mercy.
"You really don’t know anything. If this keeps up, by the time it’s over, I still won’t have found him." Kenny Lin’s eyes flickered as he squatted down, smiling slyly at the wailing young devil, "How about you tell me the location of the portal of the devil as your payment for staying alive, hmm?"
"You’re serious! If I tell you, you’ll let me go?" The young devil, hearing a chance to survive, immediately asked.
"If you keep talking nonsense, it’s going to be a lie," Kenny Lin replied.
The young devil shuddered.
If he told him, would this human really spare him?
In the past, when they played this kind of game, they never kept their promises.
Naive humans believed their words and were ultimately killed anyway.
They could never let humans go.
With so many human cultivators in the Mystic Void Continent, killing even one was a responsibility and a twisted pleasure for them.
Now that the situation was reversed, the young devil couldn’t help but think from the human’s perspective, imagining what his own thoughts would have been in the same situation.
The conclusion was clear: the human wouldn’t let him go.
But if he didn’t speak, the human would definitely kill him.
He decided to take a gamble.
It was said that some human cultivators were quite honorable.
Clenching his teeth, the young devil revealed the location of the portal.
"Not bad," Kenny Lin said before turning around and walking away.
The young devil was relieved when he saw that Kenny Lin wasn’t going to kill him, but in an instant, a terrifying sword slash flashed over his head.
The young devil’s smile froze, and his body stopped moving as blood gushed from beneath him.
Ahead, Kenny Lin’s faint voice echoed back.
"I told you it would turn into a lie if you hesitated too long."
An hour later, Kenny Lin arrived at the location the young devil had mentioned.
It was a desolate cliff.
It was so deep that the bottom of the cliff couldn’t be seen, like an abyss.
Thick clouds swirled below, blocking the view.
"This is the devil’s portal?" Kenny Lin chuckled darkly.
The devil had dared to deceive him.
"But whatever, it can’t be too far off. Maybe I’ll get lucky and find it."
With a sense of cautious optimism, Kenny Lin began walking along the edge of the cliff, heading to the right.
His actions startled some devils who had arrived early.
When they saw there is a human who was near their portal, they were shocked.
Even though he was alone, the fact that he was from the Green Lotus Sect made them too afraid to come out.
Kenny Lin thought his reputation in the Double Cavern Secret Realm wasn’t that big.
He expected the devils would charge at him without hesitation if they encountered him.
But to his surprise, just the mention of the Green Lotus Sect was enough to keep them hiding.
"It’s a trap! It must be a trap! They want to wipe us out completely!"
"The Green Lotus Sect is too ruthless! So many of us have died at their hands, and it’s still not enough!"
"His companions must be hiding nearby, they’re trying to lure us out or maybe lure out Al’gath! We’re not falling for it!"
