From Overlord To Multiverse.-Chapter 66 - 65: Undead Vs Monsters.
Chapter 66 - 65: Undead Vs Monsters.
A black light flashed, silent, swift, merciless.
The severed head of the Inferno Dragon landed with a thud, its massive body crashing to the ground, steam hissing from the cracked crimson scales.
Standing atop the cooling corpse, the Abyssal Dread Knight gripped his jagged greatsword tightly, his blood-red eyes scanning the broken streets of Orario. Charred buildings, shattered walls, and monster corpses stretched for blocks.
He moved.
Like a phantom cloaked in dark plate, he dashed forward.
A Cyclops roared and swung its hammer, but the Dread Knight weaved beneath it. One clean slice,. its torso split in half.
Behind him, the Night Liches raised their staffs high, their incantations echoing like a funeral dirge through the city.
"Create Undead."
Bodies twitched, glowed, and rose once more.
Where once laid lifeless monsters, now stood Zombie Trolls, Zombie Wyverns, Zombie Goblin Berserkers, and towering Death Knights. The undead surged forward, clawing and crushing their way through the dungeon spawn.
The Night Liches had a simple goal.
To overhelm their enemies within sheer numbers.
Use the monster tide as a sacrifice for their undead night!
Several Liches under the command of the two Night Liches spread in two different direction to cover larger area and reanimate the dead.
And their plan was working.
Wave after wave of dungeon monsters collapsed beneath the crushing advance.
Even those that could retaliate were cut down, and reborn, on the spot.
Meanwhile, above the burning city, a mad laugh echoed through the skies.
"He-he-he-he!"
A floating Elemental Skull spun through the air, its skeletal mouth wide with glee. Rings of magical energy formed around it as it unleashed devastation without pause.
"9th Tier Magic – Polar Claw!"
From the air, translucent claws made of frozen ether descended, slashing through wyverns and hellhawks with surgical precision. The wind howled with their screams.
"10th Tier Magic – Vermilion Nova!"
A blazing sun formed in the clouds, then exploded, engulfing the upper ranks of monsters in brilliant red fire. The heat evaporated the snow on the ground, then boiled the stones beneath.
Monsters fell from the skies like rain.
But still, the dungeon spawned more.
From the broken tower of babel, the dungeon roared and several monsters rushed out.
Manticores, Chimera, Dungeon Lizards, and worse.
Monstrous screams again.
Forming a giant wave.
But in front of them....
Stood a legion of undead.
Their size was small in comparison.
But each and every one of them was completely fearless.
The monsters growled.
While the undead remained calm.
The very next second, the monsters rushed at the same time.
Under the Night Lich's control, the Death Knights came in front and put up their towering shields.
The two sides collided, weapons clashed, spells rushed out, and arrows covered the sky.
As the tide of battle surged, small pockets of survivors blinked in disbelief from behind barricades. Confused adventurers, many wounded and scattered, stared at the undead passing them by, ignoring them.
"W-Wait... they're not attacking us?" a Level 3 adventurer muttered, blade trembling in his hand.
A skeletal warrior turned its empty gaze on him for a heartbeat... then moved on, cleaving through a Minotaur that charged from the side.

In the wreckage of the northern ward, a group of gods and their followers had taken shelter, Hermes, Miach, Hephaestus, and Takemikazuchi.
"What is this...?" Hermes muttered, adjusting his hat. "Undead... helping us?"
Miach watched as a Death Knight hurled a wounded Pegasus onto the ground, only for a Night Lich to raise it again, eyes now glowing with emerald fire.
"They are..... increasing."
Hephaestus narrowed her eye. "Someone... is controlling all this."
"But..... who?", God Hermes muttered as a sharp glint flashed through his eyes.
Weren't all the heroes of the lower world suppose to be dead?
Then who was it? The one controlling the undead?
God Takemikazuchi saw a horde of undead protecting a group of survivors huddled in a ruined shop.
Seeing the scene, his face lit up.
"...is there still hope?", He muttered in a small voice.
Can the lower world still survive?
The gods stared closely at the undead's movement.
As their numbers increased, the undead managed to push the monsters back to the entrance of the dungeon.
"The dungeom entrance...."
Just when everyone thought the undead would overhelm the monsters.
A massive earthquake spread out from the dungeon.
The ground shook.
From within it emerged a beast clad in obsidian scales with eight arms, each holding a weapon.
Monster rex of the 49th floor, Balor!
With a wave of his arms, several Death Knight's were pushed back, their shields broken.
Seeing the scene, the monster rex Balor opened his mouth, revealing a sharp pair of monstrous teeth.
But before it could even roar—
A shadow dropped onto its head.
"Racial Skill: Abyssal Execution Blade."
The Abyssal Dread Knight plunged his sword downward, straight through the monster rex's skull.
A wave of death energy spread from his sword.
Monster Rex Balor failed the death magic check and lifelessly dropped to the ground.
Its body disappeared, revealing a magic crystal filled with rich energy.
Silence swept over the battlefield.
Everyone, adventurers, gods, survivors, stared at the lone knight standing where the Monster Rex had fallen. For the first time in hours.
The dungeon seemed quiet.
"He... he took it down in a single strike,"
Someone whispered.
A High lvl 7 monster rex.
"That was Balor. That was a floor boss...."
Died just like that.
A young adventurer dropped to his knees, tears welling in his eyes. "We're saved. We're actually going to survive."
The two Night Liches, watching from afar, hissed in mild irritation.
"We were the ones who eliminated sixty percent of the monsters," one grumbled, raising another ogre into a fresh Zombie Enforcer. "But of course, everyone looks at him."
"Let him shine. Let him draw the eyes," the other replied: "Our true lord will definitely remember our service."
At that moment, a flicker of yellow caught their attention.
God Hermes, curiosity burning in his eyes, approached one of the Night Liches, offering a grin that barely hid his tension.
"Excuse me," he began, brushing dust from his coat. "You... you were just speaking, weren't you?"
Hermes continued, hands raised in surrender. "Just wanted to ask... that knight. The one who defeated Balor. Is he your leader?"
The air around the Night Lich darkened.
"You think that muscle head is our leader!?!?!", They both screamed at the same time, startling God Hermes.
One of the Night Lich stepped forth and said.
"You fool! My lord has been watching us battle from the start!"
With reverent movement, the Night Lich raised his head and looked at the sky.
God Hermes unconsciously followed his lead.
And there he saw it.
A figure standing calmly in the sky.
"Human?", God Hermes' eyes glowed, feeling no death energy being emitted by the figure in the sky.
Around him, gods and mortals alike began to notice. All eyes turned to the sky.
The one who had unleashed the undead.
The one who commanded an army of darkness.
A single man, standing alone above the city.
He seemed mysterious and..... powerful!
God Hermes suddenly raised both of his hands and started jumping on the spot while waving them to get his attention.
The plan worked.
Lioro turned his head and looked at God Hermes.
God Hermes smiled seeing the scene, but before he could say anything.
A massive figure appeared above the dungeon city.
Lioro turned his head.
And there he saw it.
An impossible massive dragon, coiled in pitch black scale, covering the sky.
It was the strongest of the three great calamities.
The one who wiped out Zeus and Hera Familias.
The one with no equal.
"The One-Eyed Black Dragon," Miach whispered.
"It came.....", Goddess Hephaestus tightly clenched her palm.
The One-Eyed-Black-Dragon floated calmly in the sky.
It's massive pair of wings moving up and down rhythmically.
It stood there and watched.
Staring straight at Lioro.
Not as a beast.
Not as a monster.
But as something equal.
As if a force of nature... recognizing another.
The scene shocked everyone.
They couldn't believe their eyes.
The black calamity...
Was waiting?
