Galactic knight: Apocalypse system Activated!-Chapter 34: The Mech Rifle
Chapter 34: The Mech Rifle
Julian learnt something from this fight though. Perhaps it wasn’t always necessary to be the strongest to win.
Sometimes, you just had to be SHOCKING!
Now it was time to collect fragments from the bodies of the dead mech monsters.
Julian flew to them, checking their ears and their hands (everywhere), trying to see if he could find chips he could make Exoin fragments from.
He didn’t actually know what Exoin fragments did. He assumed it was probably to unlock greater skills or weapons.
The Exoin fragments here were very many, and as he collected them, he couldn’t help but smile.
He found about two in every mech monster he went to.
He saved the larger mech monster for last though. He wanted it to be a reward for him—something that would make him satisfied with his ’chip collecting’.
With each one he removed from the dead mech monsters, he put it in his hands and watched it dissolve.
Soon he was done collecting the chips, and now it remained that of the mega mech monster.
He flew to it, checking its body for chips.
Soon, he brought out four big chips, which he put in his hands to make them dissolve.
He continued looking though, not wanting to stop at this point.
This mega mech monster’s chips were very large, and Julian was sure it would mean many Exoin fragments now.
He took many more, slowly dissolving them in his hands.
He also went to the mega mech monster’s large gun, admiring its features.
He had a sword, a shield, but then—no gun.
Looking at the large gun, he decided it would be a very important weapon to add to his system.
And so he decided he would take it. But then, he didn’t know how to add it to his system.
"How do I add this gun to my system?" he asked Xea.
’[Just hold it and close your eyes.]’
"Ok," Julian said, holding it and closing his eyes.
Immediately, it withered and was gone.
Julian looked at it, fascinated. But then, he decided it would surely be in his system.
He decided to look at his stats so far and how many Exoin fragments he now had.
He summoned his stats.
The screen appeared in front of him, and on it, he read his stats:
Name: Julian
Class: Galactic Knight
System Sync: 44%
Level: 1
Core Stats:
1. HP (Health Points): 0/100
2. EP (Energy Points): 17/100
3. Strength: 40
4. Agility: 49
5. Endurance: 53
6. Intelligence: 68 [+1]
7. Perception: 31
8. Willpower: 67 [+2]

Temporary skill:

Equipment:
1. Costral Blade (Sword)
2. Mech Rifle
Abilities:
1. Gravity Slam
Exion Fragments: 39/500
Thirty-nine Exoin fragments.
Well, even though that was a lot, he had been expecting more if he was being honest.
Perhaps fifty or so?
Nonetheless, this was pretty good. His core stats didn’t improve so much this time. The only thing that improved was his intelligence and willpower, by a +1 and then a +2 respectively.
The large gun was already something big. With something like that, he wouldn’t have so much difficulty facing off certain villains.
It could even be helpful when he faced the commander that killed Luiin.

Julian flew back to the spaceship. Returning to meet an anxious Rehul, the moment she saw him, she gave him a hug.
She had been very happy seeing him.
Earlier, she had thought he was dead. He couldn’t blame her, noting how at first the mech monster beat him to stupor.
"You survived!" she said to him, very much excited.
"The mech monster was a complete beast. Damn! It even had a legion of mech monster army."
Rehul stared at his face, which was without the helmet, looking to see if he sustained any injury.
He did though, and it was quite a lot.
A long mark was on his forehead, looking fresh of wound. Another was by his cheek, and then another by his jaw.
Rehul touched it, very well concerned.
Julian continued speaking:
"The mech monster seemed to be a smart creature who could talk and reason quite very impressively. It was also a genius in tech. But it looked like a mutant—a fusion of mech and flesh together. Same applies for its mech monsters too. At a particular stage, it even turned to a mega mech, and that was when I thought I’d die. But thank goddess I didn’t."
Rehul nodded the whole while, urging him to sit.
Julian sat on a comfy seat by the window of the star cruiser, resting his head backwards.
Rehul sat by the driver’s seat and started the star cruiser again, plunging it forward.
"Was it from the Imperium?" she asked.
Julian nodded in the negative.
"No. This is alone—just a distraction."
She nodded, eyes fixed in front of her.
She swerved the long stick-looking steering to the right and then to the left, dodging three rocks.
It was still the large floating rocks place, and there were still many floating rocks.
One had to be an expert driver at least to successfully dodge the rocks and have none hit you.
Well, Rehul was quite an expert herself, and as she swerved the star cruiser up and down, to the left and to the right, not a single rock met the star cruiser.
Julian stared at her, quite impressed with how she dodged the rocks.
"You must have driven a lot of spaceships," Julian said to her.
She smiled.
"Yeah. Being a commander, we trained for years before we mastered the art of driving spaceships. Star cruiser, space plunger, planetships, balloon spaceships—name it all. I’ll drive it."
Julian smiled.
She dodged a large rock, went through two, and then under another.
Julian just looked at the screen. It felt like watching a movie. A 3D movie.
Sometimes it felt like the spaceship would smash through the screen and hit him in the face, but then—it wouldn’t.
Soon, Rehul had successfully steered the star cruiser out of the floating large rocks zone.
Now, they faced distant stars flickering in the distance. Pink, violet, and orange-coloured nebulas drifting lazily across space.
This place didn’t feel space-like. It didn’t feel like the usual dark, empty space. It now looked beautiful, and as Julian and Rehul stared at it, they couldn’t help but be amazed.
Julian was now touching his face, trying to nurse the many wounds on it.
Rehul watched him, and soon, she slowed down the pace of the star cruiser by clicking on a button.
Julian watched her, her large breasts heaving with each motion she took.
He went over her features. With the picturesque, colorful sight of space, she looked as curvy and beautiful as... well... beauty itself.
Now, leaving the spaceship to move forward at slow pace by itself, she said to him:
"Time I rest, heh?"
Julian laughed softly and looked through the window. He could see not a single planet in sight.
"I guess," he said, turning to face her. "It’s probably time I summon the Galaxy Plunger. This is the perfect spot."
Rehul, biting her lips just a bit, said to him:
"Firstly, let me check your wounds."
With that wording, she went over to him.
