Chapter 475 - This Trainee Fatui Harbinger is Too Unreliable [475]
Luo Qing's presence had changed the tone of the meeting entirely.
Jean steadied herself, took her seat at the head of the table, and began speaking in a calm voice.
"Thank you all for taking the time to attend this meeting. Due to the recent surge in monster activity across Mondstadt, including the appearance of some previously unseen creatures, we must work together to address these concerns..."
She went on to describe the current situation in detail. The number of monsters was increasing, and strange new types had appeared—talking Hilichurls, floating wolf-like beasts, and more.
The crux of her message was simple: monsters were becoming more numerous and dangerous, and citizens needed to stay vigilant and report any incidents to the Knights of Favonius immediately.
It was essentially a town hall meeting for crime prevention, just with "monsters" swapped in for "thieves."
By the time the meeting ended, it was nearly noon.
Luo Qing, who had spent the entire morning napping, stretched lazily. As Jean announced the conclusion of the meeting, he got up, fully intending to blend in with the other citizens and quietly slip away to return home for some well-earned relaxation.
But just as he reached the door, Jean suddenly stepped in front of him, blocking his path.
"Mr. Luo Qing, may I have a moment of your time?"
"Huh?" Luo Qing raised an eyebrow, slightly surprised.
He glanced toward the red-haired man sitting in the corner before turning back to Jean with a smile.
"What is it, Acting Grand Master? Do you need something?"
"It's regarding the monster activity in Mondstadt..." Jean began, only for Luo Qing to cut her off.
"If you're asking whether the Fatui are behind this, the answer is no. Monsters and the Abyss are as much our enemies as they are yours. The Fatui have no reason to ally with our foes just to target Mondstadt."
He paused, his tone light yet firm. "Is that explanation satisfactory, Acting Grand Master?"

Jean hesitated, unsure whether to press further or let him leave.
"If that's all, I'll take my leave."
Luo Qing glanced briefly at the red-haired man in the corner before walking past Jean and out the door.
As far as I'm concerned, the only thing that matters is taking it easy. Whatever Jean wanted to drag me into, I'm not interested.
Even the Tsaritsa herself couldn't force him into something against his will. Did the Knights of Favonius think they could?
With that thought, Luo Qing disappeared from the Knights of Favonius headquarters.

Outside, in Mondstadt's streets
Leaving the headquarters, Luo Qing strolled past the Statue of the Seven and onto Mondstadt's bustling main street. All he wanted was to get home and throw himself into the arms of his wives.
As he walked, a familiar figure caught his eye.
Standing by the counter of a small general store, Eula seemed to be in the middle of a heated argument.
"Eula?" Luo Qing stopped in his tracks, watching for a moment.
Eula had her hands braced on the counter, her striking figure fully on display, though her expression was one of irritation.
"What do you mean other people only pay 1,000 Mora, but I have to pay 1,200?"
"Sorry, that's the price we've always charged."
"You..."
Ah, so she's being singled out.
Having pieced together the situation, Luo Qing approached with a faint smile.
"Well, well, isn't this Miss Eula? What's got you so worked up?"
"Luo Qing?"
Eula turned to see him, her expression shifting between surprise and mild embarrassment.
"It's nothing. I'm just trying to buy some essentials."
"Oh?" Luo Qing chuckled and turned to the shopkeeper. "I'll take a carton of milk, please."
"Of course."
The shopkeeper didn't hesitate to fulfill his request, handing him a carton of milk from the shelf. After all, her grudge was only against the Lawrence Clan, not other customers.
"That'll be 1,000 Mora. Thank you for your patronage."
"Mm."
Luo Qing handed over the Mora, took the carton of milk, and handed it to Eula with his free hand.
"Here. That'll be 1,000 Mora."
"Uh..."
Eula blinked, taken aback. After a moment of hesitation, she dug into her purse, counted out 1,000 Mora, and handed it to him.
"T-Thank you, Luo Qing."
"Thank you for your business." Luo Qing smiled, pocketed the Mora, and turned to leave.
"See you next time, Miss Eula."
With that, he strolled off, leaving Mondstadt through the city gates.
Eula stood there, staring at the milk in her hands, unsure what to make of what had just happened.

A Few Days Later – Back at Home
Most of the women in Luo Qing's household were busy with their respective duties. Ganyu and Shenhe were tied up in Liyue, Ayaka and Ei had pressing matters in Inazuma, and even Bu'er and Nahida were occupied with tasks from the Akademiya. It was one of the quietest days the household had seen in a while.
At dinner, only Makoto, Theresa, Furina, and Focalors were present. Compared to the usual lively meals, the atmosphere felt unusually subdued.
After dinner, the women exchanged a few casual remarks in the living room before heading off to their rooms.
As always, Luo Qing had no room of his own. He followed his usual rotation, ensuring every wife received equal attention. Tonight, it was Furina's turn.
When the time felt right, Luo Qing told Rosalyne to turn off the lights in the living room before heading upstairs. Stopping outside Furina's door, he pushed it open quietly.
Inside, the room was dark.
Is she already asleep? Should I go to someone else's room?
Before he could decide, a soft voice broke the silence.
"Luo Qing, you're here?"
"Ah..."
"Why are you just standing there? Come in already."
"Alright."
Luo Qing chuckled, rubbing his hands together in mock anticipation.
He stepped inside, closed the door behind him, and quickly shed his outerwear before slipping under the covers.
Wrapping his arms around Furina's waist, he pulled her close, resting his head in the crook of her neck and inhaling her scent deeply.
But as he took a second breath, his brow furrowed.
Something about this scent feels... off.
"Why'd you stop?" The girl in his arms chuckled softly. "Am I not fragrant enough for you?"
"..." Luo Qing froze.
"You're not Furina. You're Focalors."
"Oh?"
The girl shifted slightly, turning to face him with a playful smile.
"Are you sure? Wouldn't you like to take a few more sniffs, just to be certain?"
"..."
Luo Qing sat up, releasing her from his embrace.
"What are you doing in Furina's room? Where is she?"
"What's the matter? Is sharing a bed with me such a terrible burden?"
Focalors sat up as well, wrapping her arms around Luo Qing's neck and leaning in close to whisper in his ear.
"Hubby..."
Before Luo Qing could respond, the sound of the door opening behind him made him turn.
Standing there in a light, sky-blue nightgown, Furina entered the room, her cheeks tinged pink with shyness.
She quietly closed the door behind her and... locked it.

Huh. You really stuck it out all the way to the end.
Didn't think you had the patience. Guess I was wrong.
WiseTL's the one who actually made all this come together. I'm just here putting a bow on it... or, well, shoving it in a backpack and calling it a day. Same thing.
