Getting a Sugar Mommy in Cultivation World!!-Chapter 605: General Stella and General Hemes
The heavy wooden door creaked open, groaning like an old lady, as a faint scent of incense and decay wafted out.
Just by standing there, Song Liu could feel ants crawling under her skin. The cause of this was the sense of oppression that she was facing from the other side of the room.
Had it not been for the man standing before her, she would have felt more than just an uncomfortable itch.
Stepping forward, Amon took the lead to enter the room.
The room was well-lit by a handful of flickering candles set in twisted iron holders, as there were no windows visible inside. The main sources of light were not these candles but a set of flames burning in huge bowl-like containers on different sides of the room.
Although the room gave off an eerie and dangerous vibe, it was neatly arranged. Beautiful curtains with images of a blazing sun were hung alongside the smooth jade pillars.
The room was painted bright red and decorated with golden ornaments, matching the vibe of the images on the curtains.
Yet Song Liu was unable to focus or even notice these beautiful details of the room when she felt like she was being observed by several powerful beasts. Beads of sweat rolled down her forehead as she turned to face the source of these gazes.
At the right corner of the room, under the shade of a transparent curtain drawn to separate the room from the huge table on the other side.
The table appeared to be blackened, while its surface had a mirror-like shine reflecting the faces of the people sitting in their seats. The first person that caught her gaze was a little girl sitting in the front, looking between her and Amon with a grin that showed all of her sharp teeth.
The girl had a frail appearance, but the aura she gave off was no less than Amon's. Just a single look in her eyes could tell you that she was a very dangerous person to be around. Her legs were swinging back and forth as the twin tails on her head bobbed with her movements.
The girl leaned back and suddenly vanished from the chair. The next moment, Song Liu froze when she saw that the girl was now one inch away from her face. Her legs were wrapped around her body like a snake as she looked at her with the same toothy grin. "So~ this is the reason you were forced to flee the country and abandon your mission. She doesn't look like much to me."
Song Liu stared at the girl with an emotionless look in her eyes, showing no emotions on the surface, but her body remained tense. Seeing her reaction seemed to annoy the little girl a bit. She raised her hand and tried to grip Song Liu's neck while her eyes flashed with a dangerous light.
Boom!
But before her hand could progress any further, the little girl seemed to have disappeared once more. Following the sound, Song Liu saw her kneeling on the ground with a puppet strangling her neck.
"I believe you no longer have any wish to live, Stella. How about joining my collection?" Amon spoke coldly as he looked down at the girl. "But then again, adding a midget like you to my collection would destroy their beauty."
"You!" the girl named Stella yelled in anger. With a single flick of her hand, she destroyed the lifeless puppet pinning her down. She hated when someone mentioned her height, and when made fun of like that, she could not hold back any longer.
Her twin tails started to flutter in the air as a fiery aura emerged from her body.
"That's enough!" Just when the two sides were ready to engage in battle, someone intervened. Song Liu turned her head and saw the person she had failed to notice before standing up from his chair at the table.
The man had a huge build, a bald head with several markings on his forehead. He was easily twice as tall as Amon. It was not just his height—even his presence was heavier than that of Amon. The stern expression on his face made Stella grumble under her breath.
"Why would you act out of line with the young lady when you know what she represents?" The bald man sighed, his hands moving the prayer beads in his fingers.
"Hemes," Amon greeted the man and put away his puppet. "Where are the rest?"
The stern expression on Hemes's face was replaced with a gentle smile as he nodded back to Amon. "They are all busy with their missions. We were the only ones who could make it back. Besides, this meeting doesn't really concern them."
As he spoke, the man glanced at Song Liu in the back. However, the girl remained calm and composed in the corner without making any move. Stella was also looking at her, but her gaze was a bit different. It looked like she was blaming Song Liu for stealing something from her.
Song Liu found her reaction odd but shrugged it off, not paying her attention anymore. Her dismissal seemed to fuel Stella's fury, but under the stern look from Hemes, she backed away and instead directed her glare at the person who brought her.
"Hmph! Amon, are you ready to explain why you risked exposing our presence to the world just for the sake of one single girl?" As she spoke, Stella regained her momentum and her grin as she pointed her finger at the man haughtily. "Your actions not only affected our influence on the Feng Empire, but I even heard that you caused the death of a huge portion of our beasts to destroy just a puny sect."
Amon was starting to get annoyed by her actions. Hemes looked at the girl but did not interrupt her again. Instead, he moved back to his seat.
"Stella, since when did interrogating the other generals for explanations become your job?" Song Liu felt her body shaking when she heard the voice coming from the other side of the room, followed by the sound of the door creaking open. Suddenly, the whole vibe of the room changed when a woman entered.
Bang!
The air turned cold as Stella fell to the ground with her face pressing against the floor.
